10) Fulham v Stoke

If this game was played in a deserted forest, would it have taken place? The season's first truly meaningless encounter, it will almost definitely be terrible; Craven Cottage's neutral section is unlikely to be thronging.

Fulham v Stoke (12:45 GMT)

Fulham are teetering a bit with just one win in the last five games, and now lie only six points above the relegation zone. Luckily for them, Stoke aren't great away.
It's a strange one for the Potters. At home they are absolutely fine and for a team with a capacity of nearly 30,000, they've done really well in the league over the years.
But the next step for manager Tony Pulis is to get them to start winning away - so far they've managed just one victory on their travels all season.
I think this one is Fulham's though. It's one of those games in which I think they'll create chances. They lost Mousa Dembele and Clint Dempsey in the summer - a big blow because they scored goals from midfield - and the Cottagers have not really been able to replace them, but I expect them to defeat their visitors on Saturday.

Lawro's prediction: 2-1

Maybe he will stop mentioning this in 2016?

It's the year 2025 & Fulham ply their trade in the European League 2nd Division, I expect Lawro's brain, now operating via an Apple Ipad, will still reflect on the loss of the two Ds.

'contractually obliged' to show teams at least 10 times a season over ESPN & Sky. This kills two birds with one stone.

Mr-ska

Ive found this season a lot of the Big Games theyve put on, featuring man Utd, Citeh, Chelsea  etc have been boring!  Hopefully tomorrow our game will be a cracker.

lawrenson is a prat and as usual there's absolutely no correlation between his prediction and his 'explanation' for it, but to be fair, i laughed when i read the guardian's summary and you've got to admit that they're bang on really

I take the point here but considering they were selling tickets in Putney End for a fiver it will be thronging.

This post begs the question:  What were the first 9 ?

England v France in the rugby must be in the top 3 surely.

It will be a highly skilful contest with goals galore, that is why they choose.  The TV people know exactly what they are doing.

Pigs will be seen flying over the Cottage at the same time.

I believe they are right, and it isn't going to be the best game to watch. Hopefully the important 3 points in the bag.

I much prefer the Guardian's pretty funny comment over Lawro's. I hope I'm proven wrong but having seen both us and Stoke recently I kind of expect it to be quite a bit like Norwich away.

Herbie

The Guardian is normally quite good for sport, but this smacks of the opinion of a lazy journo that grew up in the 80s and supports Liverpool and therefore sees this as insignificant to his time of supporting the mighty Red Men...(pretty much sums Lawro up too)

It would be wonderful if WE could stop mentioning it on Friends of Fulham every bloody week.
