Jol needs to be brave this summer

We have made 40 points we are safe for another season but not much more, our experienced squad will always see us safe but will never take us any further I feel, if we want to push on now is the time to let go of some experienced players have faith in the youngsters & invest in certain areas of the team if we want to progress above anything but mid table
For me

Schwarzer , Riise , Davies , Diarra , Baird , Karagounis , Petric should be moved on this summer.
They have been great players for us but we need to look to the future I hope Jol does it early to give himself all summer to re fill some gaps.

Next season we really need to target a top 8 finish & a cup run players I would like to see him keep in the squad next year & add a few youngsters in

Stockdale , Etheridge
Riether , Hughes , Hangeland , Grimmer , Senderos , Richardson , Briggs
Mesca , Dejagah , Duff , Sidwell , Enoh ,  Frimpong , Kacaniklic , Frei
Ruiz , Berbatov , Rodallega , Tankovic

Obviously we need to spend some money(not loads) just in sensible areas, maybe find some loan deals for a few youngsters

This hasn't been a great season for us I just feel now is the time to change the image of the club from mid table experienced players

Really makes sense, get rid of experienced players to bring in " hope they can adapt to the premier league players?" :046:

We would still have enough experience in Riether , Hangeland , Sidwell & Berbatov starting, we lack pace in out current team our older players can't play forever this is the summer for change

We all agree with the principle of bringing in good young players, Jol especially.

They have to be good enough though and the standard required is seriously high. They can't be introduced on a cross fingers let's hope for the best basis especially if we've let senior players go.

All of our premiership games are tight matches and experimenting with more than one young unproven player at a time could prove fatal. Change needs to be gradual as players do need time to settle into the premiership.

I will be upset if we are deprived of the pleasure of  watching Karagounis for another season, in fact if he leaves many of us may well be looking for a rebate on our season ticket price, the guy is a star attraction.

Burt

The big issue for me is someone up front who can actually put the ball in the net, in addition to Berba. Petric and Rodders don't "cut the mustard" in that department.

JackyFulham90

I think we already have a lot of experienced players even if you take out Kara & Schwarzer
Like I said Riether , Hangeland , Sidwell & Berbatov will all be regular next season they can help youngsters, Dejagah has experience as does Ruiz that gives a platform for us to play Kaca & Frei maybe Mesca maybe Tankovic, I actually enjoy watching Aston Villa there problem is they don't have quality experience but we do even without Schwarzer & Kara

Although its very unlikely and it would be very Fulhamish, we're still not safe on 40 pts.

JackyFulham90

We have some good youngsters in Kasami , Frei & Kaca I'm not saying play them all at the same time but they need to be given longer runs in the team now, playing with players like Berbatov will only make them better as we have seen with Kacaniklic

Very true, I can see us getting a result today as that would be very Fulhamish

I agree here. 44 goals scored in 33 games simply is not good enough, considering sometimes we score 5 or 3 in a single game!
No forum is complete without a silly Belgian participating!

MJG

Need to shoot to score and we only do that around 12 times a game.

Lighthouse

Up front we need a forward. We need a left sided pace player. Left back is a problem. We need a central midfield player or will do soon and we need a centre half with Brede and will need a keeper.

So knowing Fulham we will fail in keeping the players we have and have the same conversation next season. Not sure Jol needs to be brave but the Club need to back him more than they have.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I really want us to sign all the necessary additions early in the window. I don´t want us to leave it until the last 24 hours as usual. Let´s do all our business before the players report back for pre season training. This will give the new players ample time to be up & running at the start of the new season.

If wishes were horses ... I share your hopes, but realize it'll probably go down to the wire as usual.

We all want a younger team, but then you get people saying Kaca and Frei will never make it after them playing around 20 games for us each.

i agree jol needs to be brave.
sword and fall on it!
we are going backwards. he didn't have the guts tp take off a player that wasn't remotely trying, we played arsenal with 9 men.  you can't let berba get away with that so often it is discgraceful
generally we are underacheving and everything that had been good is gone, we are going backwards.
one goal in the last four games and that was an own goal, and the win before that we nearly threw away. our biggest signing ever ruiz is a car crash of a player not worth his place, he should be out on loan and a center forward who is immensely talented but never criticised  and never withdrawn through lack of effort.
I really don't think jol is anywhere near good enough, wee can do better. two years ago i said poyet was the man and he still is the best man for the job.
