Sell Ruiz

When will Jol realise his overpriced signing isn't adapting to the Premier League and needs to ship him back off to Europe. I think, like many others, we need to sell him even at a cut price. Try and get 6/7 million for him and invest it into a catalyst that doesn't go over with a touch to the ankle.

Who do would you replace Ruiz with?

JackyFulham90

We should not sell him he is a talented player but he certainly needs to do more to be a regular  in the side

SKSW6

Give him next season, hopefully he'll be playing much further up the pitch and that he doesn't have to keep dropping so deep. The signing of Bent will hopefully help this, stretching defences and giving him space.

Bassey the warrior

Let's give him one more season and then only sell if we can get someone better in. I have a feeling he'll be even better this season.

Count Berbatov

It's better to keep him. Now, whether to play him week in week out is the question.
If Bent plays up top, Berba gets freedom behind him, two wingers on each side and one stopper in front of the defense, that leaves Ruiz trapped with lots of defensive duties, as well as having to pull the strings, which he can do, but can't defend equally well. It's the weak link. That's without mentioning Taarabt. Who's probably a cover for the No 10 position
Berbatov has Cantona's knack of being the man amid a stampede towards the door who stops to notice a side exit that nobody else has seen.

Agreed, I'm not a fan either.

That was his best game. He was by far the best player on the pitch. Him and Berba of course

Yes let's sell him and loan in some more championship players. It's the only way forward
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

The Old Count

Ruiz - lightwieght
Sidwell - just rubbish
Berba - lazy
Roddellega - Championship quality
Senderos - donkey
Hughes - past it

The rest off 'em - get rid

Sack the board

Get the owner to sell up (Ernie Clay's family are looking for a bargain)

I trust that covers it.

Oh! I forgot.      Jol out.

Feel free to drop the O from my title if you like.

Anyway, I thought a bit of levity was called for on this daft thread.

I'm not ecstatic at the signing of Tarrabt and Bent but they will provide Ruiz with an out ball, a lot of the time he is caught with the ball is because he is waiting on players to make a run. Our slow build up compresses all the play with staic forwards being held on the defensive line on the edgae of the box. When he gets the ball early with a player running into space he can spray the ball about and split defences, hence all his assists last season. Will be interesting to see how this season pans out for him with forwards that can make early runs and can hold the ball up.

TheManOnTheBus

I agree - I do see Ruiz as moving back and being the creative CM we all want.

jarv

No chance. However, I think he has to make an impact in order to be around beyond this season. I hope he does, imagine how good he can be.
Ruiz, when he reaches his peak, could be outstanding for the team.
Many players are ordinary, make mistakes and it can take several seasons to produce the best performances and when they do you get 3 great seasons out of them. Sorry to mention his name, but it took Dempsey a while to prove himself.
