Ernie Clay stand?

That's what it was called when the Standard was a newspaper.

Don't need to.

I can smell it from a hundred miles away.

Sadly this is how low we have fallen our losing against Cardiff allowing this windbag to spout off

The last time Cardiff supporters were @ the Cottage & caused all sorts of trouble he spouted all sorts of nonsense trying to defend them

As Labour leader & as an MEP creamed huge salaries, expenses & pensions

No ordinary worker life or culture for him, champagne socialist all the way

Another defeat to blame Jol for!

Trust you haven't lost your sense of smell of the Kinnocks Tony!

I'll dip out of the politics I think.

He won't have bought his own tickets and would probably have preferred to be with the Cardiff supporters and why shouldn't they celebrate. We would have if the boot was on the other foot.

Neil being in the Hammy end was the least of our worries last Saturday.  I wish he'd been next to me in the Putney end

It was never called the Ernie Clay stand it was for a short time called the Eric Miller Stand.
Now come on we have all gone berserk in an away stand before. I remember being at Brentford a few years ago, unable to get tickets in the away stand. I think we scored 3 goals. We were all quiet when the first one went in but after the third we all went berserk

Mr Kinnock was a politician who wanted to be Prime Minister. The reason he should not over react and cause offence is because he is still in the public eye. Applaud and smile but clearly he did more than that. I hope he will think of others around him in future. Clearly something he didn't learn in his previous job.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I'd have been more embarrassed about being near the poor little souls getting all worked up over a 71 year old and his grand-kids supporting the opposition.

FFS, they would hardly have been intimidating - football fans need to be a little less precious over this sort of thing.

Totally different if fans were taking the p*ss, or stopping FFC fans from getting tickets, but don't even need to have seen it to picture people frothing at the mouth shouting out out out!

Sad.

Valid point but it does clearly say on the ticket that away fans will be ejected. He was!!

If he had sat there and behaved (as I have succesfully struggled to do at times) he would have been alright and this story would never have been printed.

I know what you're saying, but my point is that I think it is sad that an old man and his grand-kids should have to sit on their hands when their team score because they happen to be in the 'wrong end'.

Totally understand if it is provocative younger elements, (where at most grounds they would just get a slap as you know), but people need to remember (or learn) what football used to be like before such strict segregation (which serves a purpose to a point), and be a bit more tolerant of other fans, especially those posing no particular threat.

Last point not intended towards yourself as it would appear you are playing devils advocate.

I suppose those in the Riverside ought to impart more passion towards the pitch itself - that would help!

Agreed, but where was the ejection? He just got 'moved' to spare seats at the Putney End. One rule for some .... perhaps

He was not in the Hammy end, I think they must mean the riverside, imagine a socialist like him and Glynis who earned thousands together through the gravy train known as the EEC sitting with us working class who may have voted for him once
