My views on Berba this season is that

1) he is the most talented individual in the squad
2) he has lost interest and has been completely ineffective
3) he is last on the field and first off it . Never staying to acknowledge the fans .
4) he shows distain of his team mates if they don't pass the ball to his feet .

And that the team / squad would be better off without him !!

However now Muelensteen is around will he turn around ?
I hope yes but have my doubts .

Depends to some extent on how he and Muelensteen get on with each other.

Dreadful as Berbatov has been this season his talent is undeniable and he must be desperately unhappy about how things are going for him.

Far from him and Jol being too close my guess is that he has completely lost faith and thus interest. I'd like to think that if training and tactics improve that Berbatov will respond positively.

He and Bent can score. The team needs to be set up to be defensively better drilled and to feed the strikers effectively. That's why Muelensteen is here.

i agree almost 100% with you Tony, the only difference for me with berba between this and last season is the goals, last year they were going in this year they are not. but then we have not had reither and djeagah in combination down the right.

If RM can sort the defence and supply to the front he will score and be happy, he will though always moan about things its just the way he is.

Yep, and he will never "acknowledge the fans", that bloody introvert.
I hope Rene will "reset" him. If anyone can, that will probably be Rene.

Big Martin Jol

I had hoped that the arrival of some quality around him (namely Bent and Parker) would gee him up, but I guess not.

Meulensteen was there for the entirety of his spell at Manchester United so hopefully he can get through to him.
Scott Parker is the greatest living Englishman.

Let's face it, Berba's been trying (sometimes succeeding) to make lemonade out of lemons with us for some time now. He's bound to have been very frustrated at times. Prior to his stint with us he was rarely ever starved for good and consistent service.

I'm hopeful that RM brings a since of hope to the man in the form of familiarity and confidence.

I'm not forgiving some of his transgressions, but I'm more confident that we'll be getting more of our money's worth from him in the near future.

Please Rene, please, tell Berba to shoot more, and have a stab at it once in a while when there's seemingly no merit in it.

It will be interesting to see. As TG says, it largely depends on how they got on before and whether Herr M knows how to get him to pull his weight.

Please Rene Please Rene escort Berba to his seat on the bench

52.6% of people are dreaming...... if the line-up changes he may begin to work harder and become 'undroppable'
see the last 10-15 mins against United when Kaca, Taarabt and Bent entered the game. Berba finally left his 'spot'

Berbatov will not change,  Rene will not pick the team, Jol is the manager I'm sure Rene will have a say but he has already come out saying how great Berbatov is

That doesn't mean a thing - SAF spoke highly of Berba on press conferences while the latter was spending his best years on the bench. I think that if Berba is not performing well Rene will start substituting him in the 62nd minute à la SAF. All Berba haters should be very happy with this appointment. Of course, this is better for Fulham if I am right, so let's hope Rene will have the balls to do it.

Berba is Berba . Nothing will happen to him
The question is :  Muelensteen is appointed what will happen to Ruiz , Kaca , Taarabt,Dejagah , Derek Boateng, the backing staff  ?
Derek Boateng to be a starter and already mentioned footballers to grow up to the higher  level .
Also next transfer window I am expecting few Man Utd players to strengthen Fulham. Fabio is the first one I want to see in action.
Arrival of  the  ex United goalie coach is also expected having in mind both keepers were shaky so far .
