Jol spend 3 + transfer windows trying to get Boateng and then rarely playing him.

And when he did play he did provide defensive muscle .

Rene seems to have no intention of playing him . Even though

1) our CBs desperately need to kind of defensive cover that I think he can provide .
2) We have been at our best with 3 in the midfield but excluding Boateng we only have 2.75 ( Parker , Sidwell and Kara for 60 mins - for me Kasami is not CM but a 10 ) .

Has anyone any insights about why he is not in the frame ?

Without him we need a new CM immediately .

I would say because Parker and Sidwell partner really well at the moment. They cover for one another. It is not because you have a player that you necessarily need to play him...Ask Moussa Dembele

Of the 3 times I remember seeing him, he looked very average once, and a monster the other two times. I really liked what I saw.

I'd like to see him at CB maybe perhaps given our situation, but I know he's a defensive MF.

Apparently the coaches see something we don't, and maybe he's just not good enough. I thought he looked good.

I think Boateng is a good player should definitely atleast be in the 18 man squad on the regular

I've seen him late on a couple of tackles. Usually early in the game, so not good. Jury is out for me.

Surely after featuring on the bench for the last few games he will feature against Norwich. You'd hope David will also feature at some point.
