Why was Hugo so upset??

A very emotional moment seeing him so upset with a towel over his head, I think many of us have done the same watching him play (or try to) since he joined FFC!!!! How come he is still with us after the transfer window, surely we could have paid somebody to take him off our hands?

My opinion of it is that he is angry with himself and the fact he can't become a first team regular. He knew these cup matches he has to make the most of as he doesnt see much league time.

And I guess he was certain in his head he would play the full match as Rene didnt put a striker on the bench

He doesn't look pretty but he tries hard and I think he felt he could have done more as could the guys behind him as despite how good people think Kasami and Tankovic are they didn't create anything for him. And strikers need service.

He was actually pulling off players and finding a little space. His touch is awful and he had no service. Then when players are getting tired he is pulled off and he is upset because he sees Dempsey still playing.

Let's be honest being subbed in a team that still has that shower still on the field made me upset as well.

I listened to it on Talksport and when his name was announced it sounded like the fulham end cheered. IF that was the case then I can imagine that would get to him a bit but my son said he heard nothing on the TV.

I think he couldnt understand why he would be sacrificed seeing as there was no other striker who could come on. I agree with him. It was a terrible substituion. We needed a goal. He scored against them in the last game. By all means change the formation to give him support but take him off?! He couldnt get his head around it and niether can i

Frustration. He really wanted to take his chance today and was getting in some decent positions in the box but unfortunately got no service whatsoever.

He was piss poor with little service, but I think he had more of a chance to put the ball in the back of the net than any other player over 90 minutes. I think it was disbelief that Rene' a) pulled him off with no other striker on the bench and b) the way he pulled him off, there was a slight bit of arrogance to it as if Rene' made an example of him. He looked in tears, slightly embarrassed, with Steck looking a bit embarrassed for him. I like Rene', but he got this one totally wrong.

Agreed about not getting the service and felt for him. I'm the first to say his control of the ball is poor, but one pass tonight in first half went to him like a bullet and of course he didn't control it. At the time of substitution it could've been one of many instead of him.

I agree. I think he plays well at times and I like him as a squad player.

I was surprised when he was taken off, and quite pleased with his reaction, at least someone seemed to want to play.

They said pretty much the same on the commentry. I just thought I heard a cheer go up but its even more difficult to get an idea on the radio. As I said, my son heard nothing but I wasn't sure

He even dropped back in to the midfield a couple of times just to get on the ball and make Sheffield United think about things a little more. I honestly think he tried tonight. His heavy touch let him down a couple of times in the first half (one good opportunity to score) but it was really harsh to take him off at the time Rene did

I actually like Rodders.
He didn't do anything good BUT to have any chance of that he would have had to come and got the ball off the keeper at the edge of his own box. There were 5 players at least worse.
