I was told off on these pages some time ago for suggesting such a thing.....

...Can I come too? oh, go on, I'll bring a bottle and a couple of birds.....

From the results we got, does he deserve to stay longer? Throwing people like Diarra in and waiting to 15 minutes after he starts limping to change things is like watching a car crash happen before your eyes. Jol wasn't getting results and he was sacked. RM improved performances but got sacked due to an identical record. Magath has put us back where we were before Rene, with one extra point.
Regardless of the poor talent, it's the lack of effort on show especially when all the quotes and statements say we are up for the fight! Yes there have been plenty of blunders above his head but what you need is fight and consistency and we had 0 of either!
Would love to see someone with new ideas come in with energy to lift the fans and players.

I agree.  I suggested he would do the same a few weeks ago.  Does depend on the salary and would imagine Magath must take a pay cut taking us down, but his clueless performance would mean we may be better without him.

PS:  Don't say that to this forum's weekday, afternoon crowd, who largely seem to WORSHIP Magath and deride any criticism of him.

I do not think any manager could have done better with that lot.

For me Felix is another big flop. Odd formations ant team selection, today was a joke. Lets get somebody in who knows the league and will get the right combination of youth and experience.

Oh come on seriously?! He played Burn, a slow relatively-immobile 6ft5 left footed centre back at right back, a position he's never played in before in his entire life, in a relegation crunch match for a full 60 minutes. At which point he put Scott Parker there!!! It betters belief.

Even I could do better. If we'd taken a vote on the lineup and formation on this forum and gone with that, we might've actually played a sensible team and won the game.

I do not agree    Felix will stay  he said he would and he is German .........................
However, I will buy you a match ticket if he does jump ship   :54:

No-one could have kept us up at the point Felix came in.

That said, Burn at right-back today is a late contender for craziest managerial decision of the season.

I like him, and like what he says, and have said before that he'd have a good shot at getting us back up.

However, I'm not sure this is a job for a 60-something probably on his last job. We need fresh ideas with the youth we have. People have said Lee Clark, but no - he just narrowly escaped relegation from the league that people think he'd get us out of.

I don't know who the right man is, it could be Felix, but I think it might be too much of an undertaking for him.

So why sack Rene and bring him in then? Cos he did no better than the previous two we had.
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Squad is poor, but suicidal tactics the last two games.

Not immpressed.

The look on his face when Hull equalised spoke volumes.

I think he lost belief at that point - realising that there was no hope for our survival chances.

I don't normally go in for conspiracy theories but I wouldn't be surprised if he threw
In the towel today - perhaps hoping to get pushed instead of having to jump.

Given the position we were in when he came here and the squad he had and his experience of English football he has done rather well. If he has the stomach for it I'm sure he would be a success in the Championship but I don't think that's where he wants to be.

Is wrong to compare him with Jol. Jol was with us for over two seasons and signed most of our current squad. He also oversaw the departure of many good players.

Rene was here a similar amount of games but had a lot more experience of English football and was with the club a few months before being parachuted in.

Full Metal Ham

If Ali Mac doesn't abdicate from his throne I imagine he'll want to sack Magath and get in a promotion specialist just as he sacked Rene for a relegation specialist..

As much as I would like to see the ship steadied for a season with Felix at the helm I'm really not sure after today, his decisions seemed other worldly.

If I were Khan and Ali Mack offered me some more "advice", I'd show HIM the door.
