Because the list (apart from Graham Pole and North/South) were all either born or brought up in Poland.
Hitler was born in Austria
Karl Marx - Germany
Stalin - Georgia (USSR)

It was also meant to be a humorous 'play' on the word Pole/Poll as there are numerous others on here.
