Fulham Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Kay Voser from FC Basel on a two-year deal, with an option for a further year. The fee is undisclosed.

The 27-year-old defender signed for Basel in 2011.  During his three seasons at the club, he helped them to three Swiss Super League titles and one Swiss Cup.

He started his senior career at Grasshopper-Club Zurich, making over 120 appearances between 2005 and 2011.

Last season, Voser made eight appearances in the UEFA Champions League which included two group match victories against Chelsea.

Good signing.

Few Swiss on here aren't there?!? Any ideas?

He has played for Basel 39 times in 3 years...?

God The Mechanic

He's a midget according to Wikipedia so I hope not...

Blanco

Me. But only because of Fifa lol. I guess Richardson is leaving

Sammyffc

he is a left back apparently :)

Blanco

For me any left back is good news.

At 5' 5.5" I hope not.

Football-lineups.com says he's played a fairly even split of right back and left back for Basel.  Primarily left back in 2012/13, primarily right back in 2013/14.

What's his strengths then, he an attacking player, likes to break forward, grabs goals???

Personally I'd prefer a left back who knows how to defend. They've been few and far between for us of late.

:wine:
Siblings, let us not be down on it.
One total catastrophe like this...is just the beginning !

rusty shackleford

Basel fans seem pretty upset he's left them

Craven Mad

Transfermarkt has him down as a right back, secondary position of LB.

At 27 and 29, our two RB signings are a bit on the old side methinks..

I have no idea. I used him for a few games then sold him. But as I said, any LB signing is a good signing as it was one of our worst positions. Especially as he's won the swiss league and played in the champions league. As far as I can tell he's basically a reliable bloke to fall back on. He's LB on fifa xD

27/29 old??? What happened to how good they are?  27 is absolute prime, even older for a full back.
We all see the game differently, FoF has taught me that.

Age should not be a problem when we have players like Passley looking very promising as a RB and I'm sure there are other LBs in the reserves and under 18s. A friend of mine from university knows Jordan Evans fairly well, and said that Jordan has enjoyed playing at LB in the under 18s even though he started out as a winger.

Good signing, will do well for us the the championship I'm sure. Seems like we are making a statement of intent by signing Champions League quality players. Keep it coming Felix and Shad!
