Wednesday are desperate for a striker, much like we were/are for a CB. Play hardball and accept nothing less than 15M because we don't need the money, and if they don't buy then we hardly lose out as we keep one of the best players in the league whilst buying this mystery striker before the window shuts...

How are we short when Smith is fit again?

Hugo = Smith (when fit) & they sort of dove tailed last year anyway
Mitro? how do you replace something you never had?  with Taggart?
Ruiz = Crainey

Ross = rumoured replacement

Woodrow & Dembele are a year older and better

Agreed. 2 players for each position, plus 1 alternate reserve backup for cover/competition.

Main/Quick Striker - Ross/Moussa
Target/Link Man - Smith/Cauley
Reserve Backup - Taggart

With Smith injured it'd be good to get another player in. If Ross goes we 100% need a new striker. 2 would be overkill.

No we need two strikers if we lose another one. Just filling in names in positions does not make a squad. Dembele and Woodrow are as yet not good enough to carry a position in A Championship side. Yes Dembele is looking better but not there.

Hope this Ross thing goes away quickly. £10m might seem a lot, but that's basically what we paid fot him and he more than repaid that by keeping us up. Now with a few more additions he can help us climb the table and possibly even get promoted. One of the few players in this league that genuinely concern opposition defenders given that he can produce a moment of magic out of nowhere - something which makes him exciting to watch. Not too keen on selling to a rival either, no matter how rich they are, surely we're richer?

If a silly bid over £15m came in then we couldnt really refuse though, but I just don't see that happening.

fredericks transfer is not exciting me. 30 odd league games in 4 years. i think we can do better even if he is coming as a squad player.
