It is appalling. New Labour have a lot to answer for.

I'm riled up as the game was declared a sell out, 80 + Putney tickets sold in the last week

Surely first game of the season, the big 4 and boxing day are must sell out games??

Problem is that you are preaching to the converted here. I am sure pretty much everone on here who can make it is going this weekend

TheDaddy

I brought my boys season tickets late this week (tuesday)im sure thats two gone in H5
"Well blow me if it wasnt the badger who did it "

I'm not sure if I can make it - I have a friend visiting (non-football fan), if they go by Sunday morning and there are tickets still I'll go (albeit reluctantly...£40!).

Also - why the 'big club'  obsession? The tickets are more expensive, we're more likely to lose and the atmosphere won't be as good (all those tourists and aways in the home end). I'm much more excited about Port Vale than United tbh, and I bet there'll be more than 123 empty seats for that...

(the exception being the European games last season - the atmosphere was outstanding!).

There is the fact that you are right in the middle of the school holidays and a lot of people are away, the season starts earlier every year

Good point, I missed that one even though bot my parents are teachers...

I think the overprice button may have been pushed too.

Tickets are same price as Hamburg finale tickets were at the bottom price point and some even the same as the mid price point!

JBH

This is most probably the reason

The Whites' home Barclays Premier League opener against Manchester United on Sunday 22nd of August (Kick-Off 4pm) has sold out of available seats.

The Club has retained a limited number of tickets on hold to ensure fans who purchase a Season Ticket before the match| don't miss out on the game and still get all 19 Barclays Premier League matches.

Find out further information and purchase your season ticket online or call 0870 442 1234 (option 3, Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm).

I can't believe Port Vale is such a big crowd puller!
