Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

Who is doing the counting, we must be close to the hundred mark surely.

If not I am going to cheat and add Joe Buccuzi as I think he had war time caps and Toney Macedo as England's best ever uncapped goalkeeper.

cmg

I make it pretty much 100.
That's after eliminating some who got caps but not with us (Archibald, Paul Parker, John Collins) and Mitten, whose wartime cap was unofficial and who fell out with the FA big time by playing, and making a load of cash, in Colombia) and a whole load of duplicates (I thought we had started to go round again!).
We seem to have forgotten Jeff Hopkins.
Also Sean O'Driscoll and Terrry Phelan should put us well over the top.

Funky Fulham Dave

I have a preliminary list up and running and as it stands it looks as though the hundred mark total could well be reached and probably passed.

It's perhaps not really surprising that the ton will be reached when you have Fulham players who have represented the power house nations such as Estonia, Venezuela, Philippines, and Montenegro etc.

Can't include Bacuzzi and Macedo I'm afraid.

But should you include Chelsea player Wayne Bridge who played for England while on loan at the Cottage?

I'll post it asap.

Good one.

Forgot about Emerson but remembered Fredrick Stoor (Sweden) and the Montenegro player whose named should really be an anagram of something or other - Elsad Zverotic.

Keller's last cap (no. 102) came a month before he joined us.

Pierre Wome? did he get on whilst with us? I'm tempted to say Jerome Bonnisel, but I think that may be a step to far... I think there's a lot more players that we've missed. I wonder if we can hit the 200 mark easily?

General

Alexei Smertin? Steven Davis? Tony Warner?

Managed to reach 121!

That does not include the likes of Mickael Taveres who apparently won caps for Senegal while at the Cottage. And there's quite a few more to add; Kasami, etc who could further the cap count considerably and some others.

Those below have either won caps while on loan to us or on loan to others and the question is whether they could be included in the definitive list of "Fulham Internationals". The remainder are new signing that will almost certainly gain International honours as Fulham players.

Sone Aluko, Floyd Ayité, Kevin McDonald, Stefan Johansen, Tomáš Kalas, Neeskens Kebano, Zakaria Labyad, Kerim Frei, Wayne Bridge, Maarten Stekelenburg
Pajtim Kasami, Paul Stalteri, Eyong Enoh, Shefki Kuqi, William Kvist , Stanislav Manolev, Kostas Mitroglou, Peter Møller, Pavel Pogrebnyak, Mickaël Tavares, Kostas Stafylidis.

Probably missed some players out so feel free to add those that are missing.

Last cap 15 June 2008. Joined us 1 August.

Kerim Frei's first 4 Turkish caps were when he was playing for us.

Well that was a bit of fun although I guess there are others who think it's all a bit anal and school-boyish. And they might be right!

Here's a challenge: Give or take there are 195 countries in the world that are officially recognised by the United Nations, might there be a chance that there are Fulham players that have/had a connection to each of these countries?

Paul Stalteri ?
Sorry just spotted him.on another list

I guess it is a bit geekish, but I certainly enjoyed it. Good to rediscover some forgotten names and to discover some never before heard of. Also interesting to sift out those who didn't get caps while with us but should have (Mullery etc). Saha was at Manchester United for three whole weeks before France called him up!

The geography test might be a bit tough for me. How close does the connection have to be? For instance - starting with Aruba, Hyndman scored against them for US u20s. Close enough?
