It's been a while since i've been in this forum, and now I remember why. So much negativity.
Yes we lost today, but we battered the team that are (now) 2 points clear, with a game in hand. The team that, in 2016 had the best consistancy of any club in the football league (goals scored, conceded etc!).
They're a solid team throughout, and we made them look second best for the majority. They were quick on the counter attack and we always had the potential to be un done, because we play such a high line.
Having said that, I learnt 4 times over the last few weeks;
1) Apparently Rigg vetoed 40+ transfers in his time at the club
2) We need a Jermaine Defoe type of forward - one that will score goals, and lots of them!
3) We need better cover for CB.
and 4)........


well, there is no 4, cos 1, 2 and 3 were so bloody good.

I'm gutted !
And while that's generally a negative feeling after today's performance only the scoreline was negative for me.
I agree with the managers post match comment that we played almost to our maximum and did a great job.

I'm also immensely proud. As the O.P. says (and we all saw), our general play was streets ahead of one of the league's two runaway leaders.

Tremendous credit goes to our manager for getting that level of performance out of the players, and to the players for the hard work they will have put in to attain such a standard. Slavisa's post-match comment that we are playing at-or-close-to our maximum potential puts the onus on our Chairman to improve further the quality of our team/squad; I'd like to think that Khan realises that the Club is unlikely to find a manager more capable of returning us to the Premier League and gives Joka the backing for which he asks.
