As has frequently been the case in the last few years, Mackintosh and co really have been made to look stupid and incompetent over every aspect of our search for a new striker, especially the decision to sign Chris Martin. FFS just Send this guy back and start writing cheques (plural) for eight-figure sums now lest the rest of this season will be as miserable as the last two

As you well know from the reply from the EFL it seems that the rules for loans mean that Martin is still registered with Derby and so the EFL will not consider this tapping up. The rules are stupid. Nothing Mackintosh could do about it.

Why don't you try directing your abuse to the clear culprits instead of erroneously against Mackintosh, in this case against Derby, McClaren and the EFL and FA.

If you leave your front door open and car keys in public view then you'll probably get your  car nicked. Of course the robber is ultimately to blame for nicking it. But you've still been stupid to let that happen haven't you.

The fact is If we'd signed Martin on a permanent deal rather than a loan this wouldn't have happened.

If we'd been quicker in the market we wouldn't have had to make it a loan to get the paperwork done by midnight.

If we'd made the deal permanent over Christmas this wouldn't have happened.

If we'd signed more than one bloody striker, this may still have happened but it wouldn't have mattered.

If we'd signed someone other than Chris Martin, this wouldn't have happened.

This sums it up perfectly for me !

Having said that, Martin, McClaren and Derby have sh*** on us, the board are just incompetent !

So surely c you next Tuesday Martin won't play for us again Cauley and Humphreys out on loan and if the rumour of Smith to the HAHA'S is true I doubt he will play so who's up front tomorrow?
you'd like to think so, but then for some reason he walked straight back in after going on strike
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

Some of you missing the point here with the blame all being at him and Umbrella man,we all knew this fiasco was going to happen.
The blame lies within he should have been shot back to Derby when he refused to play.
You honestly believe this has just happened today, its obviously been going on for sometime and our lot are to  blame.
Hope we've got somebody lined up and I don't mean Robbie Keane or we are done for the season..
Typical Fulham Fiasco..Bloody Hilarious. :031: :031: :031:

That's the only kind of strike Martin is capable of.....  In my opinion better to have somebody who wants to play for Fulham rather than an overweight, couldn't care less, so called professional footballer.

If we'd made the deal permanent over Christmas this wouldn't have happened.

Surely the fact that Martin has been able to sign a new contract at Derby now indicates that our option to sign him permanently was also dependent on the player wanting to join us. If the Club had had a one-way option to turn Martin's loan into a permanent deal this window, the player clearly wouldn't be able to extend with his parent club (at least, not without the Club's agreement).

Mince n Tatties

We all bloody knew when he went on strike where his heart lay, and if you were a player who say loved our club and you were sent out somewhere you'd be peeved off.
The blame lies with our useless mob who spun us crap for too long not just about this.
Aaaaaaargh

I am glad that we didn't sign Martin permanently because he simply isn't good enough even discounting his attitude.

Then, as usual, you blame Mackintosh for all your if we had done this and that when most wil have nothing to do with him and you, like the rest of us, have no idea of the circumstances.

And our manager going on about how he's had a word with him things are good, wants to play for Fulham, blah blah blah.
They've known this was on the cards since he went on strike, hasn't just happened today for gods sake.
Spun us a lot of crap and we believed it..

I do believe I have that feeling that Slavisa is the only person capable of running Fulham like a football club and not a train station.  Mackintosh and company are just ticketing clerks.  And we are expected to have confidence in the crowd that botched the whole Martin saga.  They need to prove their worth by Wednesday morning or else.

MaidenheadMick

Pay the 9million Boro want for Rhodes and get him in before Tuesday otherwise our season is over. We were prepared to pay the same amount for the Weasle Martin. McClaren needs to learn some etiquette surrounding this mess. Tell Martin to stay away from the club and don't even let him train. Any contact between him and Derby must be punished as misconduct even if he has signed a new deal. He's contracted to us 100% until the end of the season and as such we hold the aces until such time the deal is at an end. Those 2 missed penalties now make it look like they were deliberate in order to derail our play off push.

Jem

Makes me wonder about those penalties now. He cannot be trusted.

Rambler

Telegraph now stating that Martin will try and force Slavisa in terminating his loan deal so he can go back to Derby.

This 'meeting' will take place before the Hull game. They reckon he'll try and go on strike again. If he's not playing tomorrow then the rumour mill will go crazy

If we don't do something about this situation than Derby have done us up again, just like the 80s - can we seriously be such mugs!
