IOW in July. Wife's choice as she has never been there. Walked Great Wall of China she has but not seen the Needles...

Ieper (Ypres) in August for Paschendale memorial, visit my Great Grandfathers grave and give thanks to him over a Belgian beer or two

Not quite on topic but close enough, today I am marrying a friend I met in 83, then left her a few months later (long story), but we met up again 3 years ago, so we are taking our vows at home, then off to see Bruce Springsteen in Christchurch on Tuesday. Life is good!

Only thing to say is congratulations to you both,  I hope you will be ber happy

It's not a particularly beautiful place in the Pacific Northwest, but I'll be meeting up with three guys I was stationed with in Vietnam in 1970-71. We have to do this before we all start dying.

Yes something that has to be done, I did a tour of the Somme battlefields in January.
The most wierd thing happened, (I have a quite uncommon  Christian name and an unusual spelling of my surname) the first cemetery we visited on farmland in the middle of nowhere the first Headstone I read was if a soldier with my full name, spelled exactly the same way. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. :medal:

The short walk from the Needles over Tennyson Down  to Freshwater Bay is one that just has to be done and enjoyed.

Tibet in May
Tibet sounds attractive, hard to find any one who has been there.
Remember the popular question last year, where would you rather be, laying on a sandy beach on a hot sunny day or climbing a mountain on a wet cold day. Most in this thread seem to favour the beach whereas I would go for the mountain.
Thinking of repeating a visit to the Outer Hebrides with a trip out to St Kilda.
