Still nothing from the club about being finished...

This is what I find disgusting. If you are finished tell the fans.

Relax people. If we hadn't been wound up by all this bs regarding Jota/Forestieri/Gayle yesterday would we all be feeling the same way today? Probably not. It's the expectation that kills, sadly we've been hung out to dry by our own fans. Shame, really.

What? It's only natural to expect that we'd replace Aluko with someone like Jota instead of a couple of loanees and a freebie...
My take is that we replaced Auko before he left... with Ojo.

I'd agree but unfortunately Ojo isn't as good
Give him more than two games and he might well be...

Yes, he might. If we had signed someone for 40p from the Conference he might have been good enough as well. That's not the point. The point is that proven quality players like Jota went for reasonable fees yet we went for a player that was fired from a Russian club, a player that has barely played a professional game the last two seasons and a Liverpool youngster...

Ojo also isn't permanent, but give him a chance

He's included in the "couple of loanees and a freebie" line.

Why? Are you saying that all loanees and freebies are a waste of time? I thought Aluko was a freebie !!

If they want to play for us, and perform well, why wouldn't you want them?

People were negative when Aluko signed, and rumour has it he expects more than we want to pay him.

Fairly happy except I would have wanted a commanding CB. Really pleased we did not get mugged by Newcastle & Wednesday for their over valued players.
The club is sound financially & it is now up to Slavisa, the players & coaches to get the squad performing for a real promotion push.

I wish people would stop peddling the whole "Mollo got fired from Zenit" - he got homophobic abuse from his own fans who though a picture of him with what turned out to be his dad was someone he was dating. He was rated highly before he went to Zenit and the only reason he stopped playing there was due to the unfounded and unfair abuse he got and his subsequent reaction.

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Fulham teenager Dennis Adeniran.

The midfielder has been part of the Cottagers' academy since 2011 before he made his senior debut last season.

Since making his first appearance in the EFL Cup, Adeniran went on to make a further four appearances in the first team.

According to West London Sport, Adeniran has attracted the interest of Everton, who have recruited eight new signings so far in this window.

The midfielder has represented England at Under-17 and Under-19 level.

You completely misunderstand what I'm saying. I'm not slagging the players of, I'm having a go at the people in charge that didn't replace Aluko with at least equal proven quality. We're left to hope that a Liverpool youngster, a Russian reject and a long-time injured Wolves winger can fill the boots of our best and most consistent attacking player of last year.

At the same time Jota signed for Birmingham for about the same as Aluko went for. But I guess it was more important to break even than add proven quality...

*I wanted us to sign Mollo back in 2014 and think he's got something about him. But the fact is he hasn't pulled up trees during his years in Russia*

Apologies for misunderstanding, but Aluko's sale was surely to finance Fonte?

My thoughts exactly. FTID.

If that's it which it appears to be...

Disappointed mostly in the lack of competition at CB. I actually think Madl was better than he's been recently when he first joined, reasonable backup. Djalo the jury is out, seen him live twice now and better than I'd hoped (though against poor opposition) commanding but very slow. Basically, if we make it to January without Kalas and Ream getting injured or straight red cards then great as I'm not sure I'd be overly confident with either of the other 2 having an extended run at the back,  but that's a big risk for us to have taken I feel.

Also would have liked to have seen the Aluko money properly reinvested. We have lots of pacey attacking players albeit lacking in one out and out prolific striker....though that was much of last season and we did very well as far as goal scoring goes.

One of those I feel where we just have to hope for no injuries to either CB or Fonte. Think we're actually at least equally as strong on paper as last season...

Fonte or Martin? - Fonte
Woodrow or Kamara - I mean the jury is out but Woodrow had plenty opportunities but never took them. Plenty of time for Kamara to come good with more time with the team.
Malone or Soares? - on paper Soares who is rated as a bit of a wonderkid to look out for...although Malone had a great season
Parker or Ibrahima Cisse and Norwood - no brainer really, much as Parker was a great professional his regular playing days were over.
Aluko or Ojo, Jordan Graham, Mollo? - we shall see, a little gutted Aluko went as he was fun to watch but as we know shooting verrrrrry suspect.... all 3 of these have the potential to do very well... Liverpool friends excited about Ojo, Wolves friend baffled about loaning Graham who he really rates as one to watch and Mollo....well who knows but he's been at some top clubs.

Add into the mix that we held on to Sess and Cairney, Humphries potentially waiting in the wings if we want to switch it up who's still banging them in for the youth and has really beefed out this year. Other youth players not looking totally out of touch if they need to be called upon....

All in all I think we're in good shape. It's literally just CB that worries me. Let's hope we don't get any major injuries to our main 2 and that if we do, Djalo steps up and proves us wrong. He certainly showed more than I'd expected from my first to watches of him.

Only time will tell!

Fingers crossed for a good season!
COYW!

Off to bed pretty happy with the window, only disappointed that we were linked with 3 decent players and nothing happened. Worst thing happened was aluko going but he couldn't score in a brothel so not all bad really. I wish all of our new signing good luck, and a big thank you to everyone for you views and jokes over the window it's been a good laugh, off to bed now. COYW!!

No worries, I could have phrased it better.

Indeed it was, and that's what I was worried about. We basically have a net spend of 0 and that seems to be the ultimate goal of the people in charge. We had the opportunity to have a real go at it this summer and cash in on Sess or Cairney in January if it all went tits up, but sadly we didn't...

Up to Slav to work his magic now.

Sgt Fulham

This was a really good chance to really solidify a squad that would consider playoffs underperforming. Still may get promoted, but big chance not fully taken there.

Jonaldiniho 88

How can clubs get extensions on the window? You had over a month. Completely ridiculous

aaronmcguigan

There's a lot of twitterers going around on tinterweb saying that Alukos fee was 3m. Who knows what to believe but that would be a huge own goal surely

Toby Ward-Smith

There were 12 requests for extensions to the deadline in the EFL in the last 5 mins of the window. Still no word from the club which seems strange.

Brighton have one granted, for Janssen, probabaly because that's the knock on effect of all these knock on moves involving Bony and Llorente

Toby Ward-Smith

Sky sources: The deal sheets are in for Oumar Niasse's transfer to Crystal Palace from Everton, and Dennis Adeniran's move to Everton from Fulham.
