Djalo will struggle to start for the reserves. He really doesn't count.

He strikes me as a very similar signing to Casasola.

Not sure if Relevant but I actually thought Tiago Casasola was a good player, Remember watching our u21s and he scored some brilliant solo goal where he picked the ball up in our half beat 2 men then played a 1 2 and slotted it in. I remember Chris David also saying to me that he was surprised Casasola never got a chance as he rated him.

Chris David now there was a player who disappointed me. The goal on his full debut was so good (same game Woodrow scored his first i think) then played the first 5 in the championship then poof! off to Holland. Has only played 28 professional games - what a waste so far.

Odd to me, we seem to bring in a 20 something CB prospect fairly often an none appears to work out. All Spanish or Latin American. All initially highly regarded in some circles. I get the different manager, different needs/opinions thing but the regularity of it just comes across strangely. Probably just coincidence.

I've not seen Djalo play yet but, if he's as slow as some have said, then I can't see how he fits with SJ's style of play. Even if his positioning is outstanding, it won't always be enough.

Do you guys think that kamara has not yet been given the number 9 shirt this could be because its being used as part of a negotiation with another striker?

No.

But it wouldn't shock me that we may still see another forward come in.

but why not give him the number 9 then?

I think Casasola would have thrived under Slavisas system as he was very good on the ball. I remember him winning world tournaments at u20 level for Argentina then coming back and not making our bench. Weird case.

But then again him and Chris David not exactly thrived since leaving us..

As there are no players we are actively linked with (to my knowledge). Who would people like to see us being linked with?

Within reason obviously so lets say no more than £10mill worth as I imagine that's the maximum amount we would be able to pay the rest of this transfer window.

Just a bit of fun until we get some more rumors to start checking flight schedules again.

Gone ominously quiet on the FFC transfer front?

Tad boring.

John Robertson has gone from Clyde to Stenhousemuir on a free.

Not sure if its been posted, this thread has been moving extremely quick! Bryan Ruiz to Saudi Arabia
Pretty sure that's the first time the words "moving extremely quick" and "Bryan Ruiz" have appeared next to each other on this forum.

10/10.  Fans of MLS teams, including the one I follow, are very upset he didn't make the switch to the US to the point where they're bashing the leagues transfer policies.  I don't get the love affair with this guy

You say that, however....... if we started with 15 million say then sold Malone for 5 million, according to rumoured fees, that means we had 20, spent 5 million odd on Kamara, around 2 million in loan fees and a few hundred thousand on Djalo so we could have 12.5 million or so left. Could make all the difference 😜

And their left back he didn't look too bad

Reckon we will look abroad for any more signings seems to be our preferred route

Def need a another Striker and Centre back at the very least, I hope Djalo comes good but would feel less anxious if we had a good solid CB. Think midfield and attacking wings are fine and LB/RB looks covered to me. A Goalkeeper of good quality wouldn't go a miss lol.

The benefit for another solid cb even if djalo does come good is we have options in formations and able to throw on another body to see out games

I rated him, Thought he was really good.
Technically not seen many better at Fulham, capable of producing the spectacular and that's what excites me about football. I don't go to see players chase a dead ball and make a big tackle. I go to see someone like Bryan Ruiz produce moments of magic.
But that's just me. I know some people don't like him.

Would welcome someone like Shane Long at the club. I think he could become a very popular player ...

I like the idea of Gestede. If we could bag him for 6mill I'd be very happy with that.
Also the Bristol left back Joe Bryan we have been linked with. If we could get him for maybe 2/3mill that would be good business.
I would still like Rolan, Not everyday a championship club is close to signing a Uruguayan international.

One of Tyrone Mings, Joe Bryan and Jere Uronen would be welcome at left-back.

Keeper - Joel Robles on loan if Adrian or Ospina are impossible for us to get.

Centre-back: Julian Jeanvier or someone similar. There are always gems in France, Germany and Italy, lower table teams or even second division.

Striker: splash the biggest part of the cash for Sergi Enrich or Rui Fonte.

Not everyday a championship club is close to signing a Uruguayan international.

surely if the entire uruguay squad were playing in england, most of them would be in the championship or lower

Muslera (Galatassary number 1), Maxi Pereira (Portos starting right back), Gimenez (starts for Atletico madrid), Godin (starts for Atletico Madrid), Coates (starts for Sporting Lisbon), Caceres (Part Southamptons squad last year now signed for lazio),
Vecino (Just signed for Inter for 25mill), Alvaro Gonzalez (Just signed for Nacional after 7 years at Lazio), Gaston Ramirez (Starter for Boro in Prem last season)
Suarez (Barcelona striker), Cavani (PSG striker), Abel Hernandez (Started for Hull last season in Prem), Stuani (Started for Boro in prem last season)

But most of their squad would be playing at champ level or lower. Why are people on this forum so ignorant about foreign football.

Also, to put it in perspective Diego Rolan is ahead of Abel Hernandez in the Uruguay setup, Abel Hernandez was 3rd top scorer in the champ last time he played in it, firing Hull to promotion.
