Saw YouTube highlights (dangerous I know) of old Jota and looks tasty. But Aluko used to grind out chances even when we weren't playing well... beating two or three men in the edge of the area. We don't really get that from anyone else and occasionally we need that bit of drive when we are playing two banks of four and looking a bit unstuck and passing sideways.

I think it's a tantalising prospect having Jota and Cairney in the same team but we will definitely lose something from Aluko. Nonetheless, creativity in abundance now and Jota will give us the goals too.

As already said, it's arbitrary this whole argument anyway as Aluko wants to leave and if that's the case then it's a simple decision really.

Jota is better than both of our wingers that started saturday. Love neeskens but its the truth. Jota probably second best winger in league (give or take helder costa).
(Should be noted to avoid confusion Jota is a RW) has played behind striker but RW is his natural position.
To be honest I think Diogo Jota is better. Confusing, innit?

Fair true. Diego Jota I've only seen 5 games off. If you're basing it off how they have done in foreign leagues and their reputation then top 3 is probably Costa, Diogo Jota, Jota. Could argue Snodgrass is pushing to come into the top 3, Grosicki for Hull is another one just on the boundaries and Adama Traore if he stays at Boro probably makes the top 3 but I assume he will leave.

Forgot about Grosicki, he'd make my top 3. Adama is an incredible dribbler but has bugger all end product.

Apparently Engels may well want to leave Brugge, however rated  as a slim chance he goes to the championship

I am all over the Engels rumours, quite excited by it, even though it is unlikely

one update on the Engles story is ....

This basically says that there is an offer from the championship but not from FFC as we have yet to bid - I AM HAVING THIS PART CONFIRMED

GWL said QPR are on verge of signing Nouha Dicko for £3 million. Would be a great signing for us for that kind of money, if fit and healthy of course.

WW - was this for the money or prestige?

Do you think he is getting a bigger salary there?
It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

http://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-fulham-set-to-beat-norwich-to-unwanted-newcastle-defender

Fulham are looking to land Newcastle central defender Grant Hanley ahead of Thursday's deadline, TEAMtalk has been told.

Norwich City are also interested in the Scotland international, but it is the Cottagers who are confident they can land Hanley.

They came close to landing the 25-year-old before he joined Newcastle last summer, but now they are back in for the former Blackburn Rovers ace.

Hanley joined Newcastle last summer, but struggled to make an impact for Rafael Benitez's side, making just 16 appearances as the Magpies returned to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

The defender has been told he is free to leave St James' Park this summer and a move to Craven Cottage now looks to be on the cards.

Fulham, meanwhile, are also hoping to land Sheffield Wednesday's Fernando Forestieri and Jota from Brentford as Slavisa Jokanovic bids to reinforce his squad ahead of another possible promotion push.
