Voting on whether or not to change the window, so that it shuts before season starts. I personally hope that they do

I agree with you in theory, as long as the window was closed from both a buying and a selling point of view.

It's crazy that even this far into the start of a season that a Premier League club can wander along and take our best players, or that we can wander along and take Brenrford's.

Could be a problem if the European transfer window closes a month later.

Andy S

I don't see the problem as clubs can stop trading at anytime they like. You shouldn't need a window, just have a time at the beginning of the season where you can sign players for the coming season. After that you can still sign players but they cannot play until next season

problem how? No Windows shut on the exact date at the moment. No real difference to being days out as opposed to weeks. The only teams to really suffer would be those who still had to qualify for Europe.  It's why Rodgers came out against, as he knows he wouldn't get players like Robert's on loan, as it was conditional on them qualifying. But I don't care about Scotland, and our 4th place teams have the lure anywya

If there is interest from several clubs for a player they might not be so keen to sell to an English club if they have another month to get a better deal in Europe.  That's what I was thinking anyway.

huge gamble, not many clubs can out bid prem teams. And again, windows shut on different dates, now and hasn't hampered us yet

this will only work if all clubs in europe do the same, Barca or Real come in and want to buy someone then all of a sudden your at a disadvatage. Now you dont have to sell but you could be left with a plyer who doesnt want to be there or even doesnt try, eithr way you lose.

If the EFL does this prem clubs could still take a player till the week after , as they start a week later, and again all the above issues would be relevant.

it isnt as easy as just implementing it. But it hsould happen and it should happen everywhere

this is spot on, it would need to be done Europe wide. Otherwise you would have no way of bringing that late loan in when Barca tap up Cairney 😳

I understand what your saying but it has to be unilateral or clubs un the UK would be disadvantaged in european competitions.

why?

for me it is worng that any window, in a uefa based country, closes at a different time to another. All league sshould be working on the same rules, this is why (as I understand it) the loans outsid eof the window in the uk had to stop.

Make it the same everywhere or just forget them at all, worked well before the windows were in place.

but if it does we can still get someone in to replace them tomorrow, even if it's just a loan. But if it happened 3 weeks after our window is shut, then what do we do?

That is correct as the spanaish league decided to open a day later than almost everyone else this year, it is the first time they have done this.

This just hilights the idiocracy of the transfer windows, they should open and close at the same time in any Uefa registered country at the very least, unless it is implemented by FIFA world wide (harder to do).

Gives those countries opening later an advantage and that is what the spanish league are doing, they complained about Turkey and Russia and nothing was done, so decided to follow suit. Nothing stoppin us doing it either, but the FA wont do that.

It is a complete shambles

yes, which is the point I'm trying to make that all windows close together. Apologies if I'm not making myself clear.

but they don't, and never had to my knowledge. Just make it so inside and outs can only be done whilst your window is open. Simples
