Cauley .... again

In total contrast to my post over the weekend highlighting how a Bristol City fan felt Cauley had been hard done by, I met a chap this morning sporting a City scarf while I was resplendent in my black & white.

Two things.  He reckons they have peaked and lost it now.

Also, Cauley is a complete and utter waste of time!

Well, we all have opinions.  Good job too!

My prediction is he joins Burton in the summer on a perm.

Bristol City will finish 9th.
First game: Fulham 4 Burnley 0, December 12th 1998.

Shame, nice kid, out of favour and now 4th choice if not 5th (humphrys...?). Best for all parties if he joins a Burton/barnsley kind of club.

I always Liked Cauley  but have to admit that a number of different managers have now decided to put him to one side.
It is beginning to look as if he will find a home in division 1 and then come back to haunt us in a cup tie at some time.

Twig

Always liked Cauley and sincerely hope he makes good somewhere.

snarks

Always thought Cauley was the workman type for the goal scorer type. The Emily Heskey to Micheal Owen sort of thing. He isn't clinical enough as a lone striker, but is better than he's given credit for, as his goals and performances last season at Burton showed.

Poor cauley
Not much of a path back to first team football

We'll be in for some decent dollar as a positive. Woodrow signed a new contract last summer, Toulon cup winner who until recently was a feature of the U21. Should be worth 3-4m in this market.

hovewhite

Think he's gone from us as not even back up player to be in the same boat at city,Burton bound I feel.

His deal seems to expire this June but we have an option for extra year so should get some money for him. My guess offers would be 2-3m max.

Sorry, but I don't see any millions in his value? £450.000 maybe to Div 1 club.

I suspect that £3m-£4m is wildly optimistic. He's a good all round player, but not a specialist...not a lone target man, not a poacher, not a playmaker behind the front man. A great trier so he deserves a decent career somewhere but I suspect not here and not at Bristol City where he's having a distinctly underwhelming loan spell. I always thought he would be one of our first team squad members, but it hasn't happened.

Slaphead in Qatar

71 championship games played and 14 goals scored. Not a complete waste of space, but scoring rate is below par

If we're lucky.

Riversider

Back to Luton Town would be a great move for him and Luton.

ffcthereligion

Woodrow a league 2 player at best.

HatterDon

Well, there's another thing to consider about his benefit to Fulham FC.

Saturday morning I'll be wearing Mah Boy Cauley's #16 shirt while we're playing Bolton in hopes it'll bring us our 6th consecutive win since I began wearing it on match days.

Cawley is clearly a really nice bloke, more of a sheringham than a Lineker..... he has never been prolific anywhere. Maybe he will get to championship level in a few years, but needs to take a step down to kick on I think

agreed

the only club at which he's been anything close to a "success" recently is Burton and they're not going to spend £3-4m on a player. i think their current transfer record is £500k. Would they perceive Woodrow to be so good he justifies paying more than they've ever paid for a player? No.

Transfermarkt has his value at 1m. I would say that's fair for a youngster with prem experience (albeit 6 games who scored) was a recent U21 international, and whose contract runs out in 2019. Equally, when Zach Clough went to Forest for 3m then why is 2-3m unreasonable for Woodrow?
