Sky Bet Championship home game with Fulham (3pm kick-off).

The relevant authorities this afternoon approved that the match could go ahead as planned following an inspection at the stadium. Work has been carried out over the last three days after the club activated its contingency plan to deal with the extreme weather conditions.

The pitch is in good condition thanks to our groundstaff and its undersoil heating while our maintenance team have been working – some around the clock - to do everything possible to ensure the stadium is fully operational. Their sterling efforts have been ably supported by club stewards who have come in to assist on a voluntary basis and by the staff of Office Care Ltd.

We are also especially grateful to Derby City Council's Highways Department for their work in clearing the environs around Pride Park.

The freezing conditions continue to pose challenges and the work will carry on for the rest of Friday and into matchday while we liaise with all the relevant authorities. Subject to any unforeseen circumstances or any significant deterioration in conditions, the game will go ahead.

We will keep supporters informed of any developments on a timely basis via all our usual channels.

Derby County v Fulham is ON despite extreme weather conditions
The Rams are set to host Fulham at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday

Derby County's Sky Bet Championship clash with Fulham looks set to go ahead, despite the extreme weather conditions.

Fans have been asking throughout the day whether the game will be passed fit.

The wintry blast of snow and ice has forced the postponement of three of tomorrow's Championship ties - Barnsley v Norwich City, Ipswich Town v Hull City and Sheffield United v Burton Albion.

Derby's pitch at Pride Park Stadium has been playable, due to undersoil heating, and the first team trained on it this morning.

Police earlier Tweeted that "following a meeting of all partner agencies" the game was on.

Now the club has released a statement saying Pride Park Stadium has been passed fit for tomorrow's game.

It read: "The relevant authorities this afternoon approved that the match could go ahead as planned following an inspection at the stadium. Work has been carried out over the last three days after the club activated its contingency plan to deal with the extreme weather conditions.

"The pitch is in good condition thanks to our groundstaff and its undersoil heating while our maintenance team have been working – some around the clock - to do everything possible to ensure the stadium is fully operational. Their sterling efforts have been ably supported by club stewards who have come in to assist on a voluntary basis and by the staff of Office Care Ltd.

"We are also especially grateful to Derby City Council's Highways Department for their work in clearing the environs around Pride Park.

"The freezing conditions continue to pose challenges and the work will carry on for the rest of Friday and into matchday while we liaise with all the relevant authorities. Subject to any unforeseen circumstances or any significant deterioration in conditions, the game will go ahead.

Good news and a big thank you to all of those who helped.

Of course we are all ware that overnight snow could result in this decision being changed ,let us hope a confirmation is due to be issued before our coaches leave Motspur Park tomorrow.
