After 10 games last season palace were bottom with 4 points , bournemouth were 19th with 7 and everton were 18th with 8 and a -13gd. Southampton were sitting pretty in 10th with 13pts. Just goes to show how much can change . its not impossible to turn it around .

Also worth noting that last year, and any normal year, we'd be 20th and already 3/4 pts from safety (ie 17th) with our current points and GD at this stage. This year is going to be one of the easiest in recent history to stay up, because there are 2-4 exceptionally  crap teams even excluding Fulham. Add to that our record spend for a promoted club, and it will be absolutely criminal if we go down this season.

Doesn't that view show that , Bournemouth aside (who were on the bottom 3 by 1 point) you would have to change your manager to survive at this rate. However last season was an anomaly as 6 of the bottom 7 changed their manager during the season.

Before the season started, I'd have taken our current standing & retaining hope of survival.  It's a huge jump into the top flight & spending £100m isn't a significant sum these days.  I agree there are some poor teams this year fortunately.  Hopefully we can mould our squad into a team & make a fight of it.  Getting TC & Bryan fit would be a good start.
