I would like us to at least go for it, take the handbrake off, in the last 12 games.  Unfortunately I do not think that is in Parker's mentality.  Let's play with a high temp, in the oppositions half.  Attacking and generating some positivity and feel good feeling in the stands.  I would start on Wednesday with: -

               Rodak
Odoi- Hector-Ream-Bryan

The above barring injury & suspension should pick itself from now to May
The following can be tweaked (Cairney potentially weakest link) with subs, e.g Kamara, After, but IMO this is our best starting offensive options

      McDonald-Cairney
Knockaert-Reid-Cavaleiro
               Mitro

Macdonald over Arter has to start next game.

I really like Odoi & how he can play in multiple positions. However, it is only Bryan who can raid up field & provide crosses & assists. Christie does this reasonably well which means we can attack down both flanks. You can´t have both K Mac & Cairney together as they both lack pace. If it means replacing Cairney, so be it. Better to have a fit Reed or O´Reily or Arter there if we were to go 4-2-3-1. I like the front 4 though.

I'd have Christie RB and Odoi next to Heck.

Ream doesn't need to be anywhere near the team

I would worry about the lack of mobility/pace in McDonald/Cairney pivot.

Yes, let us stop tinkering with the team from match to match, the above should be the regular line up but with Johanson, Kamara and Christie used as impact subs.

Personally I want to see kebano down the left with one of ak/cav down the right. Let's get some crosses into the box
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

Does it matter who is selected, within reason of course. Rodak, Hector and Mitro are a must. The point is until we see some tactical changes I fear we will get more of the same.  The players seem to have a free reign  to take risks at the back and are supported by the manager when mistakes are made whereas going forward they rarely take any risks and as a result seldom threaten the opposition goal. We lack intensity going forward, hardly ever play on the break or counter attack teams. It's all so pedestrian going forward and that's down to tactics. Seems crazy when we have so much pace in Cavaleiro, Knockhaert, Reid, Kamara, Kebano etc. And of course we have Mitro who must be so frustrated at not getting the service he deserves.

Yes, that as well please, but surely with only a dozen games left we should have a settled line up.

Black, White and Fred

                 Rodak
Sess  Hector  Odoi  Bryan
                 KMac
Cav     TC.      Bobby.    Kebano
                Mitro

AK on for TC or Bobby at 70 minutes. Stef Jo on for Kmac for last 20 as well sitting deep.
This formation will get crosses in the box, considering we have one of the best strikers with his head we get little in the way of crosses into him.

I think there are numerous lineup problems which require solving:

  • Cairney has hardly performed all season, whether he's played deep or advanced. He is also supposed to be our captain but doesn't appear to exhibit leadership qualities
  • Playing both Knockaert and Cavaleiro out wide has more often than not proved ineffective
  • Kamara and Bobby Reid both offer pace & power, but neither are natural wide players and trying this was recently ineffective when started against Millwall
  • Joe Bryan is our highest provider of assists but is a liability defensively
  • Mitrovic is (contrary to the above) often starved of crosses to attack

Although it may seem radical at this late stage of the season for me the logical solution is to play a 3-5-2, a system I felt was deployed against Villa and successfully despite the absence of Mitro and Kamara.

Rodak
Odoi - Hector - Ream
Christie1 - McDonald2 - Johansen3 - Bryan
Reid4
Kamara5 - Mitro

1 - Sessegnon / Reed
2 - Arter / Reed
3 - Cairney / Onomah
4 - Cavaleiro / Knockaert / Cairney / Kebano
5 - Reid / Cavaleiro / Knockaert

If you are talking about my comment you might want to reread what I wrote. I said we don't get enough crosses into him.

I meant contrary to the fact Bryan is the highest provider of assists.

But that's what we were doing and got turned over all the time(well 4 in a row).

Spot on. K Mac offers so much more. But Stef Jo has to start with him.

this is absolutely the best starting 11 we have... you could have stf jo for Kmac what is key that TC plays deep and that Reid plays behind Mitro
AK and kebano will be good impact subs, if needed arter and christie could be called on. as far as the rest are concerned, especially onomah, they shouldn't be starting for the rest of the season... betts is Ok if rodak is injured and will do very weel if and when called on.

Need 4 in midfield at least. But the tactic and formation of 433 wont change unfortunately.
