DICKSON ETUHU has been banned from all football in Sweden for five years due to his involvement in a match-fixing scandal.

Dickson Etuhu along with former IFK Rossjoholm player Alban Jusufi, is claimed to have met with AIK goalkeeper Kyriakos Stamatopoulos in May 2017 and offered him a £160,000 bribe to under-perform against Gothenburg.

Stamatopoulos reported the approach, however, and the upcoming fixture was postponed.

The Swedish football federation have now made the decision to ban both Etuhu and Jusufi for 'deliberately trying to persuade an Allsvenskan player to underperform in one of their team's matches'.

I think the real question for me is, who was paying Etuhu to underperform for Fulham for 4 seasons!

I dont understand why someone who has earned s footballers wage for years would be tempted into something like this with that amount of money. It had a huge potential to backfire and it did just that. Disappointing to hear this really. I have huge respect for him given his time in one of our most successful teams ever. He was not flashy or particularly technically gifted but he knew his job and performed it well. We could use an Etuhu in our team right now. That respect has taken a bit of a hit now unfortunately.

Yes I do. Anyone can have a bad game. I remember an early game Brede played against Sunderland and he looked a right donkey. Became half of arguably the best centre back pairing we've had for decades.

She should watch more Fulham games, we have had a lot of players like him in recent years, perhaps they will be done for match fixing in the future. How much did Etuhu cost us, a lot less than Seri and Anguissa and a few others?

Me too, I remember talking to Nigel Quashie whilst he was still playing, he always said his job was to get the bill and give it to the players that can play. Dickson was a Cantona described a "water carrier"
