Everyones excuse as to why we are so poor right now is that it's roys team and Hughes has not been able to bring in his players. So who are the magic men who are going to turn this season around for us? I would love us to sign D.Bent but I don't see it happening who do you think is marks type of player and will they sign for us in January. If it was offered now a good cup run (at least semi's) and staying up I would take it :dead horse:

Well, Wesley Sneidjer and, despite his age, Diego Forlan would be a good start. But more likely to be a win double from, er, David Bentley, Roque Santa Cruz, Steven Ireland and Jolyon Lescott....

My last post was a bit flippant but I'm fed up. I'm watching Sunderland v Everton. They're playing football. We're playing Sunderland next month...

Its not quite the final day at the Alamo just yet but a cup run might be a little ambitious this season. We have far too many problems to sort out.

We need to improve midfield. Let me throw in some "Belgian" names for you:

Steven Defour, excellent midfielder. Plays behind the attackers and is one that never gives up (he chases the ball until he has it back). He is said to want to leave Standard de Liège, even though he is its captain.

Lucas Biglia: Argentinian midfielder (only one cap though). You barely see him in televised summaries. You sometimes wonder whether he is there. According to "player polls" he is however one of the most important players of Anderlecht at this point. Excellent passing, excellent vision.

Mémé Tchité: Rwanda-Burundese-Belgian. Excellent striker. Selfish as hell, but scores goals like mad. Always played for OK sides (Anderlecht, Standard, Santander) and always delivers. WBA was very keen on him but didn't get him in the end.

He is in the prime of his form. Scored 6 goals in 10 games (against the top teams in the Belgian competition). I have always liked him

Those would all come at a bargain, as it are "Belgian" prices :D

Michael Johnson and Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott from City please.

Johnson could be Murphys long time understudy. Great player.

ahh, steely dan: when josie comes home, so good.  she's the pride of the neighborhood... :HD:

wait, when january comes?  well then, i hope for no "panic buys."  or at least, i hope fulham are trending upward and "panic buys" aren't necessary.  what's a "panic buy" you ask?  well, it's when you're in vegas and all of your buddies have turned in or are riding a 'hot hand' at the tables and you're, umm, feelin' rather lonely at 4:37 a.m. on the strip...wait, that's not it.  paying through the nose for half-assed talent - maybe a player who was great 4 years ago and now lives on reputation - that's a "panic buy" in this context.

but hell, if enough "panic buys" can keep the whites' up, then i'll be back on the strip at 4:37 a.m. in celebration.

Bargains, fresh legs, desire and effort is what we need. I'll bite.

Biglia was told by the Argentinian manager that he has to play in a bigger competition if he wants to play for Argentina. Combine that with his "I want to play for Argentina" message that is printed in every newspaper and you have an answer...

A Stephen Defour - Lucas Biglia combo in the centre of midfield would turn us into a formidable outfit.

I don't know how many Belgians we can have in Emergency Ward 10 at the same time. Based on the Moussa Man, they have flair, pace, and glass ankles.

Vermaelen = out with ankle injury
Fellaini = back after ankle injury.

Guess what my weak point is, bodily speaking?  :023:

I wouldn't keep Ireland in that quartet, since his move he's been somewhat a shadow of his former self. This weekend he played crap - not so much unlike the rest of his team - and to see him pull out of 50-50 balls makes me wonder if he'll be any good for us.

Ireland/Charlie Adam, Bentley, O'Hara, Santa Cruz, New keeper (understudy for Stockdale when Schwaz is gone) and Eden Hazard (never gonna happen I know!).
