We must improve our home form in order to move up the table.
Our next 6 home games are against, Birmingham, Sunderland, West Ham, West Brom,Stoke, Newcastle. These are all games we should win and MUST win as I can't see us winning any games away this season, we may pick up a few draws on the way. So 18 points from our next homes games will do for us.

I doubt very much we will win all 6.

At least they are all winnable home games.

Will we win them all? No, but at least we have the potential to rebuild our usually excellent home form.

I don't think it would be unreasonable to say that we could win all of these.

It's certainly a kind run of fixtures compared to Chelksi, City, Spurs, Arsenal, (away) and Villa. Based on last seasons corresponding (with a fully fit squad) we only took 1 point from these matches and that was against Spurs whom we would have taken a point of had Huddlestones contraversial goal not stood.

Last season we took 9 out of 12 points from our home fixtures against Birmingham, Sunderland, West Ham and Stoke. Admiitedly Zamora was on the score sheet in all matches.

We have a good home record against Newcastle and West Brom but both sides are vastly improved.

It is very easy to speculate though - who knows what the busy festive period has in store for us and indeed the other teams. Lots of matches in a short period of time often results in injuries and seasonal illnesses can take their toll. Not to mention  the possibility of postponed fixtures - the pitch may be clear but not neccesarily the surroundig streets.

A good result will breed confidence in Sparky and within the dressing room. A point at Arsenal could work miracles and really give us a lift. When the cottage is rocking we are invincible and the players thrive of this atmosphere.

It's early days and the table is still very tight. 3 wins and a draw and we will all be dreaming of Europe.

If we are to have any kind of season at all then these are the types of game that you would expect to see us go out to try and win... We need to turn the cottage in to a fortress. Now that would be an interesting makeover TV show...

Winning all six with a full strength team would be asking a lot, but with the current injuries 3 and a draw would be more realistic and not a total disaster.

Just wanted to add somethign on the Man City game.

Kompany told a Belgian TV station that their game against us was exceptionally good and that they haven't played many games like that this season (but should if they want to compete for the championship). So, we have to put this one in perspective. Not only did we miss important players, they played better than they normally do!
No forum is complete without a silly Belgian participating!
