Anguissa not fully up to speed I can see him coming on from the bench in the second half

Or not being introduced at all yet. I think he only started training with the team about a week ago.

MrFFC

Cairney on the bench? Madness he was unreal v Brentford

For me

                       Rodak

Odoi       Hector    Ream     Bryan

                 Reed   Cairney

Knockeart     Onomah      Kebano

                      Mitro

Subs - Areola Tete Anguissa Lemina Bobby Kamara Cavaleiro
Come on you Whites!! :)

As things currently stand, any transfers we bring in this week will probably be too late for the Arsenal game which is worryingly defensively but we'll just have to make the best of it. What team would you go for on Saturday?

Mine

            Rodak

Odoi Hector Ream Bryan

       Reed Anguissa

Kamara Onomah Kebano

            Mitrovic

I'd give Christie the very slight edge over Denis and would be nervous of starting Anguissa. My own preference (which I know won't be popular here) would be StefJo in that role if he hasn't yet gone, otherwise Cairney. Agree with the front 4 and particularly think that 4-2-3-1 is the way to go against Arsenal

Lemina is absolutely starting Saturday.

Sure yeah let's just go ahead and dump our captain "Our best player"for a player that doesn't even wanna play for our team, that's loyalty For you

Denver Fulham

I don't think there are too many choices for the opener.

                 Rodak
Christie/Odoi  Hector  Ream  Bryan
       Reed  Lemina/Cairney
Knockaert   Onomah   Kamara/LW
                 Mitrovic

I believe we're back to three subs, so I assume 18-man rosters?

Subs: Backup GK, Odoi/Christie, Robinson, Le Marchand, Anguissa, Cairney/Lemina, and Kebano or Cavaleiro

A) you don't know that Anguissa doesn't want to play for us
B) that midfield is more likely to cope with a fluid Arsenal team

RaySmith

Anguissa would surely have to really impress in training to start.

I expect Cairney to start - with his guile, and these days he  works hard  defensively too.

So many leaving out Cairney?

Didn't have a great PL season last time out.
If his heads not right he can drift out of the game.

But, if he realises it's his last opportunity to use his talents well in the PL and is up for the fight he plays for me.
His performance in the Wembley final may have been outshone by others but he did put himself about and his ability to keep the ball and make space is an asset we will need.
When Tom played centrally and without Seri he looked much better. For me Seri occupies the same space as Tom, and neither has the flexibility to alter their role. Under Ranieri he was largely banished to the right-wing, a position that doesn't really suit him.  Like many players he did not have the best of seasons, but at times, when in the right position in the right set-up, he looked premier league quality.

Artful Dodger

                     Areola
Christie    Hector      Ream    Odoi     Bryan
            Reed           Anguissa
                   Cairney
           Kamara        Mitrovic

Need to keep it tight and play our 5 at the back from the start. We can't try and go toe to toe with a top 6 side like we did 2 years ago. With AK and Mitro upfront, their defenders will know they have been in a game and hopefully Cairney can get some space to set a chance or two up.

Cairney isn't our best player and how do you know Anguissa doesn't want to play for us in the Prem?
Stand up if you still believe!

I find it truly amazing that some posters think Cav a reasonable starter. He has shown no evidence of being in anyway a useful addition to the front line for almost 10 months. What is it that he brings, poor at closing down, slows every attack down, can't beat a man, shooting is wayward....what is the point ? Kamara every single time and Knoc ahead in the queue, I think we should get rid asap.

Due to the short pre-season, we need to be careful to only play players against Arsenal that are at peak fitness as they are the least likely to get injured so we can have the full squad available for Leeds and Aston Villa, etc. If we can save Mitro and Cav for later games, then it would be wise. It seems saving Mitro maybe difficult without another inform striker, but saving Cav's body is a no brainer given Kebano is in the form of his life.

I'd expect Areola to be a starter.  I think we'll also go for a bit of consistency first game out other than that, with Lemina and Anguissa on the bench maybe.

Good to see that you still harbor an unusual level of hate for Cav, and that you found a thread in which to express it.

What is your problem with him? 90% of your posts are about Cav, you're genuinely obsessed with him and it's not healthy at all
