As things currently stand, any transfers we bring in this week will probably be too late for the Arsenal game which is worryingly defensively but we'll just have to make the best of it. What team would you go for on Saturday?

Mine

            Rodak

Odoi Hector Ream Bryan

       Reed Anguissa

Kamara Onomah Kebano

            Mitrovic

Odoi to tuck in to form an additional CB in the space Auba likes to occupy with Knockaert dropping back to RWB as needed to support. Kamara on the left cutting in on his right foot. Cav, Kebano, and Onomah off the bench as required to freshen up/chase the game.

Rodak

Odoi Hector Ream [FFS!!] Bryan

Reed Anguissa
Cairney

Cavaleiro Mitrovic Kamara

Kebano deserves to start after his end of season form and I was stuck between Cairney and Onomah eventually choosing the latter.

Anguissa? Didn't he arrive back in training only a couple of days ago? I would like to see him on the bench but I think may be too soon for him to be in the starting 11.

That's a decent shout. If Mitrovic can get some freekicks around close to there penalty area, then Kebano can potentially exploit that.

There are some 'warriors' in there, Hector, Anguissa, Kamara, Onomah and Mitrovic.

Bench:-

The good thing is, despite not having a strong squad in all areas there is a genuine debate on who makes the starting 11 in many positions.

         Rodak
Odoi Hector Ream Bryan
          Reed
Reid  Cairney  Kebano
         Onomah
           Mitro

In the first half I believe SP will not want to give the ball away cheaply and press the opposition with controlled energy while waiting to take our chances when they come.
Fresh legs in the 2nd half such as Kamara, Cav & Knochaert

Zambo and the new guys need to be brought in slowly over the course of the early games.

yep, kebano has to start as he's out most inform player and josh gets the nod for me as he is more mobile than tom

We finished strongly, lets start where we left off:-

                                              Rodak
                    Odoi        Hector                Ream        Bryan

                                               Reed
                              Onomah                    Cairney
                  Kamara                  Mitro                        Kebano

Possible 60 minute subs  :-     Robinson,    Lemina,  Anguissa ( is he available)

Lordedmundo

4-3-3

Rodak

Odoi, Hector, Ream, Bryan

Lemina, Reed
Cairney

Onomah
Kamara Mitrovic

Subs:

Fabri (Areola?)
Christie (Tete?)
Robinson
Anguissa
Reid
Knockaert
Kebano

I was hoping that we would have 2-3 better players to come into the team for game one. That would include a new RB and CB.  As it stands - not convinced we have a good enough starting 11 to stay out of the bottom three.  We need quality players in those 2 positions to sign before the end of the window for me to feel confident about the season.

FFC1987

Going a bit different but:

                        Rodak
Odoi          Hector     Ream     Robinson

Kamara    Reed     Anguissa     Bryan
                       Lemina
                       Mitrovic

Was really hard to leave out Cairney!

Classic94

Rodak
Bryan Ream Hector Odoi
Reed Anguissa
Kebano Onomah Kamara
Mitrovic

Hopefully Areola, Tete and Aina can be involved in some capacity. We need a CB in by Leeds.

I reckon if they're in by the weekend, our new RB and CB will start in the cup away at Ipswich to bed them in a bit.

Lemina has been training with us for long enough to get the box-to-box spot IMO. Ease Anguissa in. Kamara and Onomah in since I can see us relying on counter attacks more against a top 6 side and their strength, pace and ability to drive forward with the ball will be useful.

So many leaving out Cairney?

Didn't have a great PL season last time out.
If his heads not right he can drift out of the game.

But, if he realises it's his last opportunity to use his talents well in the PL and is up for the fight he plays for me.
His performance in the Wembley final may have been outshone by others but he did put himself about and his ability to keep the ball and make space is an asset we will need.

Yep, think it's frightening what a team like Arsenal can do if you give the ball away cheaply to them- hence TC starts for me. I thought he was exceptionally good at Wembley, a very different side to his game came out in those last 8 games or so. Looking back at the beginning of last season, he was on fire- scored loads too. I'd play him next to Reed- not an orthodox CM/DM but can do an important job there once Reed's won the ball back.

Andy S

Anguissa not fully up to speed I can see him coming on from the bench in the second half
