What about if we brought in Roy Hodgson as Director of Football?

Neutral Zone Ultra

And why, exactly, would he want to do that?

Our start is reminiscent of Crystal Palace in 2017, when they lost their first seven games and didn't score a goal.  We have, at least scored some goals, but otherwise we look even worse than that Palace team.
Of course, Palace sacked De Boer after 4 games and appointed Roy.
He's been their manager ever since and they look a strong, well established prem team.

The lesson is to appoint a manager who knows how to coach, how to train, how to motivate players.

Parker isn't the man and it is better to replace him now, than in November.

Get Chris Hughton in, or even Mick Mcarthy, but get someone who knows how to manage a team.

Unfortunately that position is already filled by an unsackable person.

Why would a manager come to us with the defensive players we have? Ferguson couldn't keep us in the league. Address the back line over the week and we have a chance. Don't and we're down. It's that simple

His managerial days are coming to an end and it would be a new challenge for him. No one on here can doubt the qualities of our most successful manager ever. He would be a fantastic fit with his knowledge and experience. Good enough reason?

No it's not. He's the manager at a more established club. He wont leave them for us. Maybe in a few years once he's left them.

money talks H5 and this is a business, throw enough of it at him and anything is possible. D of F is a pretty prestigious position to hold. Far greater than being a manager at palace.

this is his last season at palace
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

fulhamben

The big problem with this, is you end up with a keegan Wilkins scenario. You can not have a better manager as your dof than your actual manager as they will always be at loggerheads

Yes, I have heard that with the position you get to run a wrestling franchise, assist with an American football franchise, abuse people on social media, dictate which supporters you will speak to, and generally run around doing sweet FA.  Does that sound like Roy Hodgson's cup of tea to you?

blingo

RH wouldnt have anything to do with wrestling or the jags would he.

I don't think this has been mentioned but I assume TK is based in FL. If that's the case, he has 5 less working hours a day. Surely that will play a part too.

Tony is the DOF isn't he? He'll never give it up as this along with other Shad 'Daddy' paid for investments are 'Toys for his boy'.

We as fans must acknowledge this and accept the 'good' and the 'bad' having The Shads as our owners. The good is obviously the $$$ factor. The bad is the learning curve a young Tony brings. TBH it is refreshing to see a DOF/HOF/GM engage at times with the fans. The ambition is clearly there for all to see, the vision of where we want as a Club to be at is also clear. Obviously the growing pains are the same as before and we may have to yo-yo one ore more times before Tony gets things right.

Certainly entertaining at least to see Tony try to rebuild the team and Scott frown at times.

That is exactly how I see our situation but would add the need for a very good wide man clearly better than Cav., Knock, Kamara, Reid or Kebano.

Roy may well have considerable affection for FFC, but he's a CP supporter and manager, however we do need someone - say on a consultancy basis - to give TK some guidance.  I'm thinking someone like Harry Redknap.  After all, he's had to downsize his little pad in Sandbanks so he may be glad of a boost to his limited income

You know you weakened any argument as soon as you mentioned Mick McCarthy. Absolute joke of a suggestion.

We have Parker, he isn't going anywhere.

Get TK to resign, move Parker up to be DOF and get Big Sam in to be manager, simples!

wasn't Roy a Director of Football at Juve (or somewhere?) before he joined us
