TC's Sporran

me and the wife were travelling to her parents by car at night and the sky was fairly clear and dark
the road we took led us out into the countryside and then ended up in a small village

as we hit the dark roads we saw a lowish cloud to our left nowt special but it was lit up with an orange glow much like most clouds near streetlights etc
as we drove on it seemed to get nearer to us obviously being blown by the wind we assumed
then about 3 miles from her parents the cloud came right next to us and then seemed to be actually above us and i was craning my neck to see if i could see the centre of it
we both got a bit spooked and i decided sod this and drove as fast as i could to her parentsand  it then dropped even more and it was as if we were driving through orange fog
as we neared the village it started rising but by this time we were getting scared
in fact i was very scared
as we reached the village the cloud seemed to lift slightly and out of sight but there was still this eerie orange glow

i was driving like an f1 driver and we parked outside her parents and both ran inside not looking up

we told them to come outside to have a look at this thing that had been following us and the sky was totally clear apart from a tiny cloud directly above us with a faint orange tint
im guessing it was at least 500 yards above us maybe even higher

it just looked like a normal cloud and they thought we were mad

i stared at it and it seemed quite see through with nothing hidden inside and over the next hour or so it just stayed above her parents house getting larger but fading away

this can all be explained by nature but we both think it was a bit wierd
and who knows what is out there

prob more clouds

i'm really interested in aliens/paranormal a such!

if any person has any ufo sighting stories please post 'em!

The reason I put this topic up was I heard from a old boyhood chum in Herne Bay where I was born and grew up as a kid.
It was my old pal Ollie Carter who mentioned it when he got in touch with me last week.
We we're about 12 at the time in the 60's and out in front of our homes heading the ball back and to across to each other.
It was just starting to get dark and Ollie said look behind you, there was this long cigar shaped thing lit up at both ends up in the sky, before one could blink it came from behind me to where Ollie was across street. No plane could have done that in a flash.
Ollie went and got his Dad but it was gone by time he came out,he said have you two been sniffing glue..lol
Next day a lady out walking her dog that previous night along the coast at Whitstable reported seeing it.

Aliens 100 percent exist, but it's what form they take. Bacteria on another planet would class as an alien life form, but i'm no expert

Apparently that's how life started on earth, we were an organism on an asteroid that crashed into the Earth. The conditions on Earth were just right for evolution for 'personkind'.
isn't that called the pollination or seeding theory? the actual name currently escapes me... but yes I have heard of that and it's very interesting to think about

I'd occasionally go ghost hunting with a mate at a local pond, he'd spend hours waiting for some action. One night, something did happen that I can't explain & I was terrified.  Didn't have the Internet back then but I've just found this:

Heard of a very similar story where I grew up that occurred in about 1980. I didn't see it though, but dozens of people in the neighbourhood did.

Now, I do have more than one story about ghosts. Not me personally, but my dad saw his father the day after he died during a rainstorm drifting by stopping by to say goodbye. Was very peaceful am told. I could go on, but will say I have zero interest in seeing a ghost.

Perhaps someone should start a ghost thread.

West Ham on their site are going to have "View from Fulham" and it will be all about UFO's and ghosts I'm afraid (all pun intended). I am very interested in all of it as well.

This bloke said to be the other night. " Do you believe in Ghosts ? "
I replied, " no I do not you Elizabethan Sailor, stick your head back on and get out my bedroom ".

I was sent to Yaroslavl, which is about 400 miles from Moscow, to do some community projects and twinning PR. Out in the then huge and dense forest one day a farmer told the group I was in that UFO's were over a lake in the forest the night before. It was a regular occurrence for about forty years. He was not under the influence of home brew and so suitably intrigued myself, my main guide and interpreter and a couple of others went back the following night. We were all sober, we are were all quite sensible professionals and we had no preconceptions. There were no Close Encounter type light shows or rustling trees but at one moment for about twenty seconds where we were standing got suddenly warmer then instantly dropped back to near freezing. One of the group completely freaked out and we had to leave before she did something daft. We mentioned the adventure over a breakfast meeting with some local businesses but as we could not explain it we sort of buried it. I must admit I have not thought about it much as it was impossible to research such things back then, this was just post Gorbachev, so there it is. Aliens may or may not exist or it might just be hot air............... literally.

Are you familiar with the Dyatlov Pass incident?

A blast of hot air could explain some of the occurrences.

Dyatlov pass is very interesting. A very famous mystery now because of youtube. Probably helped by it happening in USSR. But those guys/girls had a horrible fate.

There was a story in the papers last week about the cover up of pictures the walkers took of in the Scottish Highlands,as three Fighter planes were escorting a UFO,then it disappeared.
This happened back in1970 and was put on hold for 50 years till 2020.
Now it's been covered up again for another 50 years till 2070..
The pics have been identified as real, and clearly shows the ship being escorted by the planes from RAF Lossiemouth.
If it was all tosh why does the government have to hide it all away for another 50 years.

It is usual that people see strange sites when it is dark or the light is fading.it is also a possibility that when you are tired you see strange things. Been drinking as well. How many times in broad daylight do people have to look at something twice. Many years ago at about two in the morning I saw a cigar shaped object along with windows eventually it turned out to be an aeroplane that was banking showing itself to me side on so the wings were not visible.

Woolly Mammoth

Cigar shaped object you say ?
Are you sure you hadn't wandered into an Ann Summers Establishment after having one too many.

Out running in the early  morning, as it's just getting light, I often see a figure ahead of me lurking. I feel a bit anxious, but try to be rational, and keep going, and  as I get nearer i realise that the figure is a rock, or bush or something.

Though if I still lived in Glasgow, the figure would likely turn out to be a group of figures - blokes, passing a bottle of Buckfast fortified wine round at  six in the morning, more otherworldly and scary than any aliens!

genuine thought here, do you think it is possible for "ghosts" and "aliens" to be the same thing? Could be some weird technology that is like cloaking we can't see them but theure there.

I dunno, maybe that is too far fetched.

I think it's plausible that cryptids (loch ness, bigfoot etc) could be extra-dimensional (or ghost-like) apparitions that result from magnetic fields. If they were flesh & blood creatures from our reality you'd expect to find deceased bodies or fossil evidence.

what is very interesting about bigfoot is the amount of cultures around the world who have similar folk tales
