A good penalty from Cav. but I didn't think he was outstanding and now the big question is who plays up top in the next match and do we need to replace Cav. in January.

The abuse Cavaleiro gets on here has been at silly levels for a while

We probably need better at this level but he's a good all-rounder and a tidy player

IMO he can be at this level what Piazon was in the Championship

I thought he was OK (but no better than that) in the admittedly difficult role of lone striker, but he deserves praise for being willing to take the penalty and put it away as neatly as he did. That took some nerve.

Admittedly he has been pretty awful for about a year, although he put in one of his best performances for us today - and took huge courage to step up and take the penalty. He went extremely close to scoring immediately after too, only an excellent save from Schmeichel stopped him. Shows what confidence can do, I think we all know he has a huge amount of talent based on his first few months with us.

I guess if you play him enough by the law of averages we may see a performance were he affects the game in a positive manner???????????

Good performance from him today.
Playing well, doing the dirty stuff that some fail to see is what we expect most weeks but to actually affect the result is something we haven't seen from him much at all.
Today he did have a very positive effect on the result.

Respect to Cav for manning up, stepping up and putting it away

Every player gets far too much criticism, we should be supporting them all. Many players come in and make a contribution that is good, but often not as good as we hoped, but often it's cause our expectations are too high, especially in the premier league against established premier league teams. :dft003:

For example, MLM was brought in to sit on the bench for the 2018/19 season to get a few points whenever players were injured, and when he starts in the team gets around 2 points for every 3 games, the problem has been the teams get too many injuries (plus Chambers not performing at CB) so MLM starts too much for a 4th centre back.

So many similar examples, TFM inexperienced with in our playing structure and style. Anguissa was meant to slowly take over as DM from KMac over 2-4 months, but KMac was dropped after one game in the premier league.

Another example, is Seri agreed to a fair wage for his services and we paid Nice (not Seri) stupid money to get him, and statistically we actually did much better in 2018/19 when he played. Seri has been worth his wages, we cannot blame him for his ex-club overselling him, besides we did the same with Ryan Sessegnon.

In truth in 2018, we brought in "borderline premier league quality players that haven't played together" for Fulham to play against "borderline premier league players that have played together very well" like Burnley, with predicable results. Since then, we have spent a lot of time blaming recruitment for poor teamwork that comes from our financial situation that results in a constantly changing the team every season, and frequent injuries that are at least partial bad luck.

My main dislike is fans that say squad players are crap, when those players are clearly not meant to be  starters but are decent squad players that we should keep us a squad player.

Caveleiro is very much in that category, who is ideal to be our squads sixth or seventh best forward, and probably shouldn't get criticism for being our third best forward, and a poor third best forward for a PL team.

Agreed - from our starting line up last night we have nobody who could replace Cav - in spite of the slating he gets on here, every week he puts in a shift and runs his socks off - well done Cav!
