It's an interestingly ambiguous question: character or performance? The player I still find most fascinating to watch remains Murphy. When he makes space in a crowded midfield by a shrug of the shoulders, the many on this board who remember Haynes will surely agree that he's our nearest thing since. I also quite like what I sense of him as a character, albeit the same goes even more for Hangeland and Hughes. The Murph by a neck.

Deliberately left it for the reader to decide!

If you're a meritocrat (is that even a word?!) you may well pick the 'best' player, but others may prefer workmanship or personality or laps of honour or good chants or whatever.

Perhaps I should have titled this 'who's name do you have on the back of your shirt?'. But some people might have many shirts and names, or you might get tight bar stewards like me who have only a few trusty shirts with no names on.

I love how open it is, by the way. We really are a team, aren't we?

All the first teamers have a vote..apart from Etuhu. Under valued or over rated?

Which season?

Last season he was undervalued.

This season, whether through direction from Hughes or what, he's contributed a lot to our poor play. An adventurous Etuhu looked fantastic for the first few games, but since Zamora's injury it has meant a lack of shape in centre midfield and City really made us pay for it.

Ladies & Gentlemen I give you John Pantsil, my Lord

I voted for Aaron Hughes, although Simon Davies was a close second for me.

Dempsey.  Initially because we hail from the same backwater part of East Texas, but to a greater extent for his play and the heart he shows.

Second would be Aaron Hughes.  I've really gained an appreciation for his unsung contributions to the side in the last year or so.

Demps for me, always giving 100% and the only one looking to score goals at the moment

I voted Dembélé. It is more a vote of "get back soon, Moussa" then anything else. He was decisive in the game against Wolves. If he hadn't scored those two, we would really be in the relegation spot.
No forum is complete without a silly Belgian participating!

Good for you sipwell, backing your fellow countrymen.

I can tell Finnister hasn't voted. EJ is still at zero.

For me, gotta be Dempsey.....or Hughes.....or Pantsil....or Gera... or Hangers....Oh! there's Salcedo..and Murphy...how can I leave out Simon?...gosh Mark and my God, I left out Bobby. Yea, I guess that's my vote.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.
