Fulham's history in the FA Cup is a long one and in our time we have met a lot of the other 91 PL/EFL clubs in the FA Cup.

In the PL, the only team we have never played in the FA Cup is Leeds, and in the Championship we have never played Barnsley.

The list of those in the lower 2 divisions that we have not played in the FA Cup is longer : in Div1, it's Rotherham, Wigan, AFC Wimbledon (though we have played Wimbledon), Morecambe, Fleetwood, Crewe, MK Dons, Oxford and Burton.  In Div 2, it's Forest Green Rovers, Sutton, Harrogate, Salford, Bradford, Rochdale, Mansfield, Crawley, Barrow, Stevenage and Scunthorpe.

Of those 22 clubs in the 91 that we have never played in the FA Cup, 9 are in the draw tonight (Leeds, Barnsley, Rotherham, Wigan, AFC Wimbledon, Morecambe, Harrogate, Mansfield, Barrow).

Of the non league clubs in the draw (Chesterfield, Yeovil, St Albans, Boreham Wood and Kidderminster), we have played the first two in the FA Cup but not the others.

That was an interesting post. Guess we'll have to wait until next year to see if we can take one of these teams off the list.

Our 1-0 away loss to Yeovil (two divisions below us) in the FA cup, in the last minute of the game (in true Fulham style), in our relegation season 93/94, was our first ever game on Sky. Sky obviously sensed a ""giant"" killing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOZytBLHQJk

Sky Sports only had 1 channel in it's early infancy, so i remember it being a big thing in 1993 that Tier 3 Fulham were on TV; even if most people didn't have Sky in those days.

Despite having attended the game as a kid, and witnessing a loss that caused a pitch invasion from the Yeovil fans, i was still desperate to see my ""heroes"" in a full match on a television. A kid in my year at secondary school - the only other Fulham supporter in the year (whose dad played for Fulham on a handful of occasions) - had taped it; but to my disappointment, he never loaned it to me (despite multiple attempts at buttering him up).
Basically, back then, a Fulham game on cassette was harder to come by than a porno from a sixth-former.
The last sentence wasn't a double entendre btw  :005:

Does anyone remember the last time we were on telly before that? Or when we were next on telly after that? The Al Fayed years just brought loads of exposure, so it became unimportant in some respects (post-1997).

I remember watching the 1958 semi final replay on TV, against Manchester United, from Highbury, when we lost 3-5

I watched the game in a pub in Maida Vale. As far as I could tell I was the only FFC fan watching it and I don't think anyone else in the pub was paying more than a nano-second of attention to the game. Certainly no Yeovil fans in attendance!

Next game on TV might have been Fulham 1 Cardiff 4 in Jan 97 (the Adams promotion season).

Yes, that's right. And in true Fulhamish fashion, we fluffed our chance to get one over the bigger boys of Cardiff, even when we were good! Didn't we go out to Plymouth Argyle 5-0 (away) under Adams? We always seem to lose to the better teams and the lesser teams in the domestic cups!

So, our TV appearances (before football flooded the telly) went:
1958
1975
1993
1997... ?

So do I. I think it was an afternoon game so not sure how I managed that, but definitely remember it

Two or three of these had already played for their teams in the FA cup, but Man United were permitted to have them play after obtaining them...I seem to remember Ernie Taylor from Blackpool and Stan Crowther from Aston Villa.

I remember losing at the cottage 2.1 to Leyton Orient under Coleman. That was pretty shocking. Much like the performance.

Yes it was an afternoon game and it was when we would leave school halfway through the first lesson after lunch and go to our sports field each week...well I went home and watched the match.....We were unlucky not to win at Villa Park in the first game.

I remember it well. I was coming back from primary school with my mum and we stopped to watch it in the TV shop at Fulham Broadway. Macedo had a bit of a mare ... As previous poster says we were unlucky not to win the first match...and then we had to wait for 17 years for the big day ...and another poor goalkeeping performance

I have a feeling we played at home in 91/92 to non league Hayes in the FA Cup, was on a Friday night, am 99% sure it was on Sky! Anyone remember it?
We lost 2-0, and it was made worse by I had a couple of mates playing for them!

Well, there i a youtube video with lots of highlights, but no Sky commentary?

Hayes, Yeovil, Ashford (although we got through courtesy of Adams in the end).... Dark times!

Motspur Park

Anyone remember Ashford away?
We sat and watched the game on a shuttered concrete boundary fence at the back of our end and left with us losing 2 0 with around 5 or so minutes to go as we were parked in a field and didn't fancy waiting 30 minutes to get away after the shambles we had watched. The car was stuck in a bog of a field and took all of its 4x4 benefits to get out along with my uncle getting trashed by the wheels spinning on the ground. Fulham drew 2 2 which we missed both goals and we won the replay!
