Are we capable of making one signing during this window who will command a place in the team and make a difference to team performance. Perhaps it is better to proceed as we are and not rock the boat.
In the summer window we signed Muniz, Quina, Chalobah and Wilson. Only Wilson has played regularly the other three have hardly been seen.

Awaiting early action from TK on two fronts, which will he achieve first:-
1. Signing top player to add spark into our attack.
2. Diving into the new pool which was scheduled to be ready for use by Christmas.
My money would be on 2 happening first!

I think he was very good for West Brom when they had him on loan in the prem. Started nearly every game and Allardyce liked him .. by that logic he would be good in the Champ

This being said.. we have Chalobah returning and they are similar players

Yep which is why I was asking & got a reminder that Chalobah was on the bench for the last match. But, if there's substance in this, it still makes sense. When we're run at we look pretty feeble at times. Reed is a natural DM but is injury prone, Seri is not a DM and is going to be absent for a crucial part of the campaign. Chalobah has hardly played. Maybe Silva feels he needs both Chalobah and Okay given the backlog of fixtures coming our way. Wouldn't mind two dogs in front of our back four and one of them to bark at Wilson on a regular basis
Agree Jim, especially the last bit.

I would not advise it if there is no water in it.

Oh , he is waiting for the rain to add about six inches depth of water so that we have a real spectacle that will take our attention away from the transfer market.

Really like the idea of Yokuslu if he was to come, looks like a bit of a beast who breaks up play & wins the ball. Harrison Reed did that but not recaptured his form & playing in a more advanced role
I agree Hillingdon.
That's just what he did for WBA last season and also showed glimpses of being creative with passes.

If we can get him on loan he'd be a top signing, definitely Premier League quality. We also need a left winger to compete with Kebano.
I have a lot of time for Kebano and think he is clearly the best player we have for that wide left position.
However it would be good to have a player who is clearly better than him but I see no point in signing someone on par with him.
Young Keane Lewis-Potter from Hull or even possibly Bright Osai-Samuels (ex QPR), both can be effective on either flank, so could be contenders for a starting spot.
Might spark Wilson into a bit more life.

Dave @ Crave

I would go for Dembele at Posh considering he is out of contract in the summer

LC

Callum Chambers will be a free transfer this summer. I would bring him in for sure. He Probably won't start every game, but he will add much needed depth and versatility. He's better than most of the squad players we have.

Again, wouldn't be someone to come in and play every week, but he's too good not to pick up on a free transfer providing wages aren't crazy

Ideal window for me personally

In

Todd Cantwell - loan (option to buy)
Okay Yokuslu - Loan (option to buy)

Out

Cyrus Christie
Anthony Knockeart
Domingos Quina - Loan Return

Can't do that because Wilson is technically a loan at the moment.

You can have go to 5 loans in the match day squad in the EFL

We cannot afford a loan with an option to buy, they are a very expensive form of loan. I imagine we could get a loan that promises a huge promotion bonus or a compulsory buy upon promotion. It might seem like a small difference, but only clubs a few clubs are really interested in a promotion bonus loan, and if we draw the next few games not many clubs would be interested. Alternatively, if we win the next few games by wide margins, some teams normally not interested in loan fees based on promotion may change their minds as we could be a good bet.

Craven Mad

I can't see Norwich offering us a 6 month loan for Cantwell, given that his contract expires at the end of that time. Even with an option, why would we trigger it when we could get him for free at the same time?

For Cantwell, it'll either be a small fee for a permanent signing now, or he'll be a free agent in the summer

It seems like Napoli are no longer intent on signing Anguissa permanently at this stage. This means we are obviously restricted to loan signings, unless we sell a few fringe players (Knockart, Cavaleiro, Christie) for reasonable fees - which is unlikely obviously!

Without a doubt we do need a least one incoming midfielder, with Seri off for the month, Reed and Cairney not exactly in exhilarating form and Chalobah an unknown quantity in some respects. I haven't seen anything from Onomah this season to suggest he can be relied upon and Quina looks to be on his way back to Watford, which is for the best I would say. So, the Okay feller looks like a good bet - but hopefully we do have a back-up option if he goes elsewhere (and either way need to get the deal over the line soon...)

I agree.

I think the midfielder needs to be a strong, physical type (like Yokuslu).  We are being outmuscled recently.

I believe another player who can play out wide or up top would be handy too, but we might have our hands tied with FFP.

Bournemouth have made some early moves to bring two young highly rated defenders to their club,
There are a large amount of points on offer in January, I hope and pray were not faffing about on the final hour of the final day to get our business done.

I imagine he demanded this from Bournemuff after the way we started our PL campaign with our championship defence.

We were reported to be looking at Dembele in the summer, he is a number 9 I believe, but decided on Muniz. The question now is Dembele any better than Muniz or Stansfield.
We really don't need any more squad players but just one or two who are clearly better than those already with us.
