Blowing gusty 50 mph now in my part of Suffolk, getting up to between 70 n 80 on Friday.
I fear for my second home, the roof took a battering the last storm.🏠

Blow your shed Mince, I am more worried about my Summer house, winds forecast of over 80 mph down here in Cornwall.

Just back from a nice walk along the seafront at Teignmouth, very mild not much wind and almost calm sea.
Was expecting things to be much different.

With the winds that are forecast for Friday I would think aircraft will be grounded, usual limit for take off is something like 60/70 knots.

Not a lot you can do once you are up in the sky

Cant hang around for 3 days waiting for it to die down

Aircraft can be diverted to safe landings away from the winds. You could find yourself on the ground in the South of France on Saturday lunchtime when the match at the Cottage is starting.

Chesley Sullenberger would put it down on the Thames next to the new Fulham Pier.

Far west in Cornwall, lost half my fence yesterday, guess the other half tomorrow :)

Steeeeeeeeeed

Hope somebody has tied down the River Side stand...

It does look like it's going to be very powerful all day Friday now, could be like 1987 all over again.

davew

Dreading the next 24 hours, already last night had some of my garden equipment damaged including a Β£1,000 heavy wooden swinging seat (almost too heavy for 2 people to lift) which somehow became airborne and crashed into part of our patio balustrade, the winds then were apparently only 50 mph! Just hope my summerhouse/man cave survives the next storm. Stay safe everybody!!
