Fulham have 'reached agreement' with club for signing – Personal terms with player need sorting

VfL Wolfsburg's Kevin Mbabu has been targeted by Fulham in the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old mainly operates as a right-back, but has been as right wing-back and also in the heart of the defence.

After a good start to the 2021/22 campaign with the Bundesliga side, he lost prominence there in this calendar year. Wolfsburg are open to letting him leave, which is why they have 'reached an agreement' with Fulham.

That's according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain the Cottagers agreed to pay €5.5m plus an additional €2m as potential bonus payments.

Marca Silva's side will have to convince the player to return to the Premier League as they have not agreed personal terms with Mbabu.

Lyon's Leo Dubois will be the main target for the German club to replace the Switzerland international, in the event he leaves Wolfsburg for Fulham.

Mbabu spent four seasons at Newcastle United between 2013 and 2017, but ended up making only three Premier League appearances for them.

Fulham in talks to sign Kevin Mbabu after agreeing provisional fee with Wolfsburg

Fulham are in talks to sign Wolfsburg defender Kevin Mbabu, The Athletic understands.

The Switzerland international is now negotiating personal terms with the west London club after Fulham and Wolfsburg provisionally agreed a fee worth €5.5 million and a further €2.2 million in add-ons.

Fulham have previously had two bids rejected for Mbabu, who qualifies as a homegrown player.

The 27-year-old right-back previously played in the Premier League for Newcastle United, making three appearances during the 2015-16 season. He spent four years in total on Tyneside, having joined the club as a 17-year-old in 2013 from Swiss Super League side Servette.

He left Newcastle for Young Boys in 2017, and then joined Wolfsburg ahead of the 2019-20 season. He made 24 Bundesliga appearances last season and has been capped 22 times by Switzerland.

Fulham head coach Marco Silva is hopeful of adding as many as 10 new additions to his squad this summer, including a new right-back.

Fulham had looked at signing Neco Williams permanently from Liverpool after he spent the second half of last season on loan at Craven Cottage. However, his price tag was seen as prohibitive and the Wales international is now set to join Nottingham Forest for a fee worth up to £17 million.

Fulham are on the verge of confirming the signings of Andreas Pereira from Manchester United and Manor Solomon from Shakhtar Donetsk, who have both completed medicals, it is understood.

They are also in talks with West Ham United for central defender Issa Diop, as well as Arsenal for goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Report: Fulham make new approach to sign out-of-favour Spurs player

Football Insider have revealed that Fulham have made a new approach for Tottenham centre-back Joe Rodon.

Rodon has not travelled with the squad to South Korea, and although reports indicate that the Welshman missed out on the pre-season tour due to illness (Charlie Eccleshare), his future at Spurs has been the subject of press speculation.

The Evening Standard reported last week that the 24-year-old is 'desperate' to leave Tottenham in search of regular first-team football.

Football Insider have now claimed that Fulham are keen to sign Rodon on a permanent basis after winning promotion to the Premier League.

The report states that the Cottagers first targeted the centre-back earlier this summer, and have now got back in touch with Spurs regarding a deal for the former Swansea man.

It is suggested that Marco Silva's men are keen to secure Rodon before the window shuts, and that Antonio Conte has given the green light for the defender to be sold.

Spurs Web Opinion

It would be interesting to see what transfer fee Spurs could command for Rodon given that he has hardly played any football over the last two years.

The north Londoners' best hope would be for other clubs to register their interest with the aim of driving up the price.   There is no doubt Rodon needs regular first-team football this season with the World Cup on the horizon for Wales in November.

Fulham considering move for Burnley man

Fulham are reportedly considering a move for Burnley's Maxwel Cornet, as per a report from Daily Mirror (10.07.22, page 74).

Cornet, 25, joined Burnley last season and impressed fans with his performances throughout the campaign.

During his first Premier League season, Cornet scored nine goals and assisted another, but his efforts couldn't save Burnley and they were relegated.

After signing for the Clarets for £12.9million, a relegation release clause has been activated – the fee of this is thought to be around £17.5million.

The Ivory Coast international is clearly good enough for top-flight football and it seems Vincent Kompany will struggle to keep him at Turf Moor.

And Fulham are now weighing up a move for Cornet this summer, with the London clubs potentially about to hnd Cornet a Premier League lifeline.

The Cottagers join Chelsea, West Ham United and Everton who have had a long-standing interest in the forward.

And more recently, Newcastle United have been offered his services.

Tough competition...

Fulham are preparing for their first year back in the Premier League following their promotion last time out.

Marco Silva's side will be hoping to adapt to life in the top flight and maintain their position for years to come.

They'll be hoping their summer recruitment is right this time around. The arrival of Cornet to Craven Cottage would be impressive, but given the extensive interest, it will be tough for Fulham to win this race.

Burnley have recruited well so far. Kompany is preparing for his first year as a boss in England and the former Manchester City captain has already signed a Cornet-like replacement.

Scott Twine joined the Clarets for around £4million. Burnley supporters will be hoping his 33-goal campaign last year can help propel them back towards Premier League football.

"A man who can do it all" – Fulham join Chelsea and Newcastle in Burnley player pursuit: The verdict

This article is part of Football League World's 'The Verdict' series, which provides personal opinions from the FLW writers regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more...

Fulham are the latest Premier League club to join the race for exciting Burnley winger Maxwel Cornet, as per a report from Daily Mirror (10/7 paper edition, p.74).

The 25-year-old, who has generated widespread interest across England's top-flight, is also on the radars at Chelsea and Newcastle United.

Joining the Clarets from Lyon last summer, the Ivory Coast international netted nine times in 37 appearances in the league, providing a further assist.

Predominantly featuring as a winger, Cornet was also tasked with operating as a striker at times last season.

Three of our writers here at FLW have shared their thoughts regarding Fulham's interest in the Burnley man...

Adam Jones

The Cottagers should certainly be in the race for a man who can do it all.

Able to play as a left-back, on the wing and up front, these are three positions Marco Silva needs to look at.

In fairness, he may be less needed at left-back with Antonee Robinson and Joe Bryan available as options there – but could be extremely option as a wing option alongside Harry Wilson.

Scoring nine goals last season, his contributions would go a long way in helping the Cottagers to stay up, especially with Wilson and Mitrovic available as options.

And with their current lack of options up top, having someone like Cornet there who can fill in would be ideal, so this potential signing is a no-brainer if they have the funds to get it over the line and can agree a sensible wage package.

Marcus Ally

The likes of Ivan Cavaleiro, Anthony Knockaert and Neeskens Kebano are unlikely to cut it in the Premier League for the Cottagers, with the latter potentially being an exception.

Therefore, the services of Maxwel Cornet would certainly make them more menacing in the final third, and it could free up spaces for Aleksandar Mitrovic to take advantage of.

The Ivorian showed his class in patches in a defensive Burnley side last season, and could thrive with greater attacking freedom in the capital.

A hefty fee may be demanded for Cornet, but it is nothing that Fulham cannot afford with the huge jump in the TV money they will receive compared to competing in the second tier.

Cornet's versatility could also aid Fulham and Marco Silva's cause as they look to build on an excellent 2021/22 campaign.

Ned Holmes

A bit of extra forward firepower certainly wouldn't hurt Fulham as they prepare for another return to the Premier League.

Winning promotion has not been an issue for them in recent years, staying up has, and in an attempt to break the cycle, we can expect to see some more additions made to Marco Silva's squad before the start of the season.

Maxwell Cornet is a Premier League quality player and someone that has proven himself at the level, which is exactly what Fulham need.

All eyes are going to be on Aleksandar Mitrovic to see whether he can follow up his record-breaking Championship season by finally proving himself in the top flight.

Signing players like Cornet should help him do that and may help Fulham finally avoid the drop.

Fulham 'confident' of Leno capture

Fulham are confident of concluding a deal to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno this week, according to the Evening Standard.

The London clubs are believed to have agreed a fee for the 30 year-old, who is the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium, and wants to move across the capital to boost his chances of playing first-team football in World Cup year. Leno, who was replaced in Mikel Arteta's starting eleven by Aaron Ramsdale last season, has slipped further down the pecking order at Arsenal after the summer arrival of Matt Turner.

The former Leverkusen and Stuttgart custodian is desperate to play regularly as he hopes to force his way back into the German reckoning ahead of the finals in Qatar this winter and has agreed personal terms on a three-year deal at Craven Cottage. Marco Silva has targeted a new goalkeeper for the start of the Whites' Premier League campaign and signing Leno, who has won nine senior caps for his country, would be a significant coup for the Cottagers.

Leno will become Fulham's number one goalkeeper, which would raise questions about Marek Rodak's future at the club – as the Slovakian international, who has twice won promotion from the Championship only to be usurped by a big-name replacement once the Whites reached the top flight, also wants consistent game-time.

Report: Fulham's Marlon Fossey rejects new contract amid Preston North End rumours

Preston have considered signing Marlon Fossey this summer and the Fulham talent has now rejected a new contract at Craven Cottage.

North End clearly need to find a new right wing back this summer.

Brad Potts filled in there under Ryan Lowe last season and whilst he did a great job, having a natural option there is a must.

A deal for Cyrus Christie hasn't materialised and Preston must now focus on finding another player who play on the right side of Ryan Lowe's 3-5-2.

A number of other players have been linked but one of the more intriguing rumours surrounded Fulham ace Fossey.

Preston have considered signing Marlon Fossey

The Bolton News reported earlier this summer that Preston were Bolton Wanderers' main rivals in the race for Fossey.

Bolton took Fossey on loan in January and loved his performances before an injury cut his time with Wanderers short.

Bolton haven't waited around though and have signed another right back in Liverpool talent Conor Bradley.

With Bolton out of the race and Preston's move for Christie seemingly off, Fossey heading to North End would make some sense.

The American ace, 23, is quick, skilful and dangerous going forward – exactly what Lowe is looking for in the Preston side.

The flip side of Fossey is that his injury record is troubling and having taken a gamble on Robbie Brady, going for another injury-prone player could be a problem.

Sky Sports now offer an update on Fossey's situation, claiming that he has actually rejected a new deal with Premier League side Fossey.

Fossey is out of contract in 2023 and it now seems likely that Fulham will sell before he leaves for nothing in a year.

The report adds that a number of Championship clubs are interested in signing Fossey in light of this contract rejection, with Preston potentially one of the suitors.

Fossey appears to be angling for a move away from Fulham and Preston will be weighing up whether his attacking threat outweighs the injury concerns.

Fulham 'hoping' to complete 10 transfer deals with international player in talks

All the latest Fulham transfer news and rumours on Monday.

Fulham are reportedly expected to have a very busy few weeks ahead as they prepare for the new season.

The Cottagers are back in the Premier League and are in the hunt for some additions.

Marco Silva's side are in talks with Wolfsburg right-back Kevin Mbabu and are hoping for as many as 10 new additions in this transfer window, as reported by The Athletic.

The London club have been quiet since the end of the past campaign after they won the Championship title and have only managed to sign João Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon.

Fulham target Mbabu
Mbabu, 27, is no stranger to playing in England after spending four years on the books at Newcastle United from 2014 to 2017.

He joined the Magpies from Swiss side Servette and went on to play five times for the club in all competitions.

The Toon Army loaned him out to Rangers and Young Boys before he joined the latter on a permanent basis.

Wolfsburg then snapped him up in 2019 and he has been a key player for the Bundesliga side since then, making 83 appearances in all competitions. However, he may well be moving on now.

Other news
The Athletic report that Marco Silva's side are close to landing attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira from Manchester United, winger Manor Solomon from Shakhtar Donetsk and are also in talks with Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno and West Ham United defender Issa Diop.

Football Insider reported over the weekend that Fulham want Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon, whilst Burnley attacker Maxwel Cornet has also been linked by the Daily Mirror.

Masuaku for Fulham speculation explained by Hammers

West Ham have received no inquiries for Arthuur Masuaku despite many rumours to the contrary!

There has been regular speculation that the left sided player was a target for Fulham with his former Olympiakos boss Marco Silva  a big admirer.

But we have learned this afternoon there has been no interest shown in a player who made just 13 Premier League appearances for the Irons last season – most as a late sub.

The Hammers are still taking to the Cottagers about a possible switch by Issa Diop but when we asked a key contact inside the London Stadium about Mauaku we were told that no interest had been shown at all and that his name had never been mentioned.

Sadly this demonstrates how some media outlets leap onto a stray possibility of something existing between a former manager and player and put together a report which is way off the truth.

Ticket prices range from £30 for an adult in the Johnny Haynes Family Zone at Craven Cottage, up to £100 for an adult, over 65s and those aged 18-21in the Riverside section. In the same section, it is £70 for those aged 17 and under.

Fulham fans hit out at "hideously expensive" tickets

Fulham have revealed their matchday pricing for 2022-23 – and tickets costing £100 have been described as "hideously expensive" by Fulham Supporters' Trust.

The newly-promoted London side start their Premier League campaign at home to Liverpool next month and the club have drawn fierce criticism for their pricing for the game.

It will cost an adult supporter between £65 and £70 to sit behind the goal at Craven Cottage against Liverpool on the first day of the season, while prices range from £70 to £100 in the Riverside and Johnny Haynes Stands, with the exception of £30 tickets in four areas of the family zone.

"Fulham FC should not be surprised at their supporters' reaction to Liverpool match ticket prices," Fulham Supporters' Trust said in a statement. "The trust has made clear several times the danger of pricing long-standing fans who don't have season tickets out of going to football.

"Even against our comparators for equivalent fixtures (e.g. Crystal Palace v Arsenal) our prices are hideously expensive."

This is not the first time Fulham have received criticism for their pricing. Back in 2019, Fulham fans protested against rising ticket prices outside Craven Cottage under the "Stop the Greed" banner.

A survey conducted by Fulham Supporters' Trust at the time found that, of the 2,300 Fulham fans who took part, 75% were dissatisfied with matchday prices for top category games. Additionally, 64% of respondents said they are going to fewer home games because of ticket prices, while a majority said matchday tickets are £10 to £15 too high.

The trust said: "At a time when household energy costs have trebled, food and petrol prices are up and with a significantly bigger capacity next season to fill, prices that look good on a spreadsheet, be that in Florida or Surrey, risk replacing supporters with one-time tourists as a matter of course.

"The trust were not consulted about Fulham's matchday pricing policy in advance of the club's announcement and intend to raise the issue during our meeting with Fulham officials next week."

Pereira Joins Fulham

The Club is delighted to announce the signing of Andreas Pereira from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.

The versatile midfielder has agreed a four-year deal, tying him to Craven Cottage until the summer of 2026, with the Club holding an option to extend by a further 12 months.

After signing his deal, Pereira said: "I'm very happy to be here and I can't wait to start the season with Fulham.

"I want to help Fulham as much as I can to be where they belong. Marco Silva was very important for this. I spoke a lot with him, and he was a key factor in me being here."

Tony Khan also commented: "It's a tremendous pleasure to welcome Andreas Pereira to Fulham! Andreas is a very talented player, and he's excited to join Fulham and work with our great coach Marco Silva.

"We believe that Andreas will be a valuable asset for the Club, and he'll be an important part of our squad as we prepare for our return to the Premier League! Come on Fulham!"

Born in Belgium while his professional footballer father was playing there, Pereira later moved to neighbouring Holland where he joined PSV Eindhoven's academy.

At the age of 16, he joined Manchester United, impressing as he moved up the age groups to earn a senior debut in the League Cup in August 2014. A Premier League bow followed later that season in a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

Pereira's maiden goal for the club came in his first appearance of 2015/16 when he was handed a full debut against Ipswich Town, ending the campaign with 11 appearances to his name, including a first taste of Champions League football.

To further his development, he spent the subsequent two seasons in La Liga, shining in a struggling Granada side with eight goal involvements, before helping Valencia to a top-four finish.

Back at United, Pereira was a regular under Jose Mourinho and then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, featuring 62 times across the next two years.

His first Premier League strike – a stunner against Southampton – won the club's goal of the season award, and the following year saw them reach the Semi-Finals of the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League, whilst also securing a third place finish in the Premier League.

A new challenge arose in 2020/21 as Pereira embarked on a season-long loan with Italian outfit Lazio, whom he helped reach the Champions League knock-out stages as well as a top-six finish in the league.

He then had a first experience of football outside of Europe with a temporary spell at Flamengo, joining midway through their 2021 campaign which finished in a runners-up spot in Série A.

Pereira stayed with the Rio de Janeiro outfit for the first half of 2022, scoring a stunning winner on his final appearance in the Copa Libertadores.

A regular in the Belgium youth setup, Pereira switched his allegiance to Brazil – the country of his parents' birth – at Under-20 level, winning his first senior cap in a 5-0 win over El Salvador in September 2018.

Sources: West Ham and Fulham plot moves for ex-Everton star Dijbril Sidibe

West Ham and Fulham are plotting moves for former Everton loanee Djibril Sidibe, sources have told Football Insider.

The right-back, 29, is available on a free transfer after rejecting a new deal at Monaco in a bid to secure a move back to England and the Premier League.

West Ham and Fulham are keen on Sidibe as he is a free agent and has the versatility to play right-back as well as left-back.

Sidibe, who was a member of the France squad that won the 2018 World Cup, made 28 appearances during his loan spell at Everton in the 2019/20 campaign.

Everton decided not to take up the option to convert his loan into a permanent move and he returned to Monaco.

He ended his six-year spell with the Ligue 1 club with 174 appearances across all competitions and was a key part of the side that won the title and reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2016/17.

Fulham are in the market for a new right-back after Neco Williams signed for Nottingham Forest on a permanent deal on Monday (11 July).

Williams spent the second half of the 2021-22 campaign on loan from Liverpool at Craven Cottage and was a key part of Marco Silva's side that won the Championship title.

West Ham have Ben Johnson and Vladimir Coufal who are capable of playing at right-back while Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku are David Moyes' options on the left.

The Hammers will play in the Europa Conference League in 2022/23 after finishing seventh in the Premier League in 2021/22.

Andreas Pereira: Fulham sign Brazil midfielder from Manchester United

Pereira's error for loan side Flamengo in extra time of the 2021 Copa Libertadores final handed possession to Palmeiras which led to their winning goal.

Fulham have signed Brazil midfielder Andreas Pereira from Manchester United.

The London club have not disclosed the fee but the deal is understood to be worth £10m including add-ons.

The 26-year-old has signed a four-year deal with Marco Silva's side, who were promoted to the Premier League after winning the Championship last season.

He is Fulham's second signing of the summer after the £17m arrival of Portuguese defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon.

Pereira said: "I'm very happy to be here and I can't wait to start the season with Fulham.

"I want to help Fulham as much as I can to be where they belong. Marco Silva was very important for this. I spoke a lot with him, and he was a key factor in me being here."

Pereira, who joined United's youth team at 16, spent last season on loan at Brazilian side Flamengo, scoring seven goals in 53 games.

He made his debut for United in 2014 and played 75 times for the Old Trafford club, as well as loan spells at Granada, Valencia and Lazio.

Pereira has one cap for Brazil and played at youth level for Belgium, the country where he was born.

Fulham plotting Joe Rodon move

Fulham are reportedly prepared to make a fresh move for out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon this summer.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are weighing up a fresh move for Joe Rodon. The newly-promoted Premier League side are looking to shore up their options in the defensive unit, with the Tottenham Hotspur starlet emerging as the perfect candidate.

Fulham were interested in a move for Rodon earlier in the summer. But a transfer did not materialise. They are now prepared to rekindle their interest and make an official attempt to sign the out-of-favour Welsh defender, who is determined to leave Tottenham ahead of the new season.

Rodon joined Tottenham in the summer of 2020, during the domestic window. But the 24-year-old has never been able to fulfil his potential, primarily due to a lack of game-time. In the current setup, Rodon has once again fallen behind the likes of Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier in the pecking order.

The 24-year-old's role at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could dwindle further following the addition of Clement Lenglet from Barcelona. It has compelled the Welsh defender to seek an exit, with Fulham among the clubs prepared to offer him the opportunity to revive his career next season.

After winning the EFL Championship last term, the Cottagers are determined to break their curse in the Premier League. As part of their plan to remain in the English top-flight, Fulham are looking to add more quality to the defensive line, having roped in Portuguese international Joao Palhinha earlier in the summer.

Coach Marco Silva is now looking to add more competition for the central defenders such as Tim Ream, Tosin Adarabioyo and Terence Kongolo by bringing in someone like Joe Rodon. Although the Welshman has not fulfilled his potential at Tottenham, the promise of more game-time could help him bring the best out of his game this coming season.

Tottenham, for their part, will be determined to sanction the sale of Rodon in an attempt to make way for newer signings. The Lilywhites have recently expressed the desire to bring in Atletico Madrid ace Jose Maria Gimenez, and the sale of Rodon, to that end, could go a long way in making that happen.

However, Rodon is not the only defensive target for Fulham, with the Cottagers also keen on a summer swoop for West Ham United starlet Issa Diop.

Andreas Pereira joins Fulham from Manchester United

Fulham have confirmed the signing of Andreas Pereira from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.

The Cottagers have brought the one-time Brazil international in on a deal until 2026, with the option for another 12 months.

90min revealed earlier in July that Pereira was undergoing a medical at Craven Cottage having agreed a fee with United for the midfielder.

He told the club's website: "I'm very happy to be here and I can't wait to start the season with Fulham.

"I want to help Fulham as much as I can to be where they belong. Marco Silva was very important for this. I spoke a lot with him, and he was a key factor in me being here."

United's statement added: "Everyone at United would like to thank Andreas for his years of service and wish him all the best for the rest of his career."

Pereira spent last season on loan at Flamengo and the Brazilian side had hoped to land him on a permanent basis but he has instead opted to aid Fulham as they look to make their latest Premier League venture a successful one.

Following a 12-year spell in England's top flight that ended in 2014, the Cottagers have yo-yoed between divisions but their most recent campaign has given fans hope of a longer stay in the Premier League.

Fulham nearing agreement with Wolfsburg over Kevin Mbabu deal

Fulham are nearing an agreement with Wolfsburg over a deal for Kevin Mbabu, 90min understands.

The Cottagers have been on the lookout for a new right-back ever since their promotion back to the Premier League was confirmed.

As reported by 90min, Neco Williams - who impressed on loan at Craven Cottage last summer - was one of their top targets, but he has now joined Nottingham Forest.

With their pursuit of Williams over, Fulham are pushing ahead with trying to sign Mbabu. The two clubs have been in negotiations for some time and things are progressing. However, contrary to reports elsewhere, a deal has not yet been agreed.

Sources have indicated to 90min that Fulham's latest offer is worth £5m but Wolfsburg are looking for £6m. Although further negotiation is required, the Cottagers are confident of reaching an agreement soon. 90min also understands that personal terms will not be an issue.

Fulham have completed two summer transfers so far - signing Joao Palhinha from Sporting CP and Andreas Pereira from Man Utd - but that should change soon. As well as nearing a deal for Mbabu, the club are also in talks to sign Bernd Leno and Issa Diop.

A season-long loan deal for Manor Solomon has also been struck with Shakhtar Donetsk, though confirmation has been delayed by visa issues.

'Agreement' for Arsenal exit could be reached 'this week' – Player already has contract sorted

As you might have heard, Fulham, fresh from their promotion to the Premier League, are trying to get a new goalkeeper.

The man they appear to have set their sights on for the upcoming season is Arsenal's Bernd Leno, who is currently out of favour with the Gunners.

Losing his spot to Aaron Ramsdale, the German goalkeeper sat patiently on the bench last season, but it's clear he wants to play, and Fulham are ready to give him that opportunity.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg took to Twitter to bring the latest update on the situation, explaining that while Leno is currently training with Arsenal, the Gunners are 'negotiating with Fulham'.

It's even stated that 'an agreement this week is possible', after the player himself reached his own agreement with the Cottagers for a contract until 2025 + an option for an extra year.

We now have to wait and see if Arsenal and Fulham can shake hands on an amount for the transfer, leaving Leno to stay put in London, only with a different shirt.

Fulham sign Pereira

Fulham have made Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira their second senior summer signing – confirmed the Brazilian international's arrival at Craven Cottage this afternoon in a deal understood to be worth an initial £8m.

The 26 year-old creative midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Flamengo, leaves Old Trafford after a decade with Manchester United, where he made 75 senior appearances and scored six goals. Pereira was previously the source of some friction between former Fulham head coach Slavisa Jokanovic and the club's hierarchy in 2016 when the Serbian was denied the opportunity to sign him on loan.

Pereira, who has signed a four-year deal with Fulham holding an option to extend his contract by a further twelve months, told the club's official website that he was excited to have another opportunity to prove himself in the Premier League:

"I'm very happy to be here and I can't wait to start the season with Fulham. I want to help Fulham as much as I can to be where they belong. Marco Silva was very important for this. I spoke a lot with him, and he was a key factor in me being here."

Pereira featured prominently under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, whilst also starring in Spanish loan spells with Granada and Valenica, who finished in the La Liga top four. He could make his first Fulham appearance during the Algarve Trophy, with the Whites in action against Nice in Faro on Saturday night.
