Inter Milan 'ready to pay £20m for Fulham's Antonee Robinson'

Fulham defender Antonee Robinson has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Inter Milan.

Earlier in his career, the left-back had been on the brink of completing a move to AC Milan after making an impression while representing Wigan Athletic in the Championship.

However, an issue with his medical led to that transfer breaking down, ensuring that he remained at the DW Stadium and would eventually move to Fulham later in 2020.

Since then, the 25-year-old has only enhanced his reputation while representing the Cottagers and the United States, making a total of 83 appearances for the former.

On the international scene, Robinson has 31 caps for the Stars and Stripes, two of which have been earned while participating at the World Cup over the past week.

At a time when he is earning regular action in the Premier League and Fulham are in the top half of the table, head coach Marco Silva will remain confident of retaining Robinson's services.

However, just over 19 months remain on his contract, and it appears that one of European football's top clubs are ready to test Fulham's resolve.

According to The Sun, Inter are ready to hand Robinson the chance to finally complete a move to San Siro to represent I Nerazzurri rather than their fierce rivals.

The report suggests that Inter would need to pay somewhere between £15m and £20m to secure a deal for Robinson in 2023.

Inter currently have a number of options for their left wing-back role with Federico Dimarco currently viewed as first choice by head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Nevertheless, Robin Gosens has been linked with a January exit, and Matteo Darmian and Danilo D'Ambrosio are not viewed as players who can regular challenge for a regular starting role.

Despite their recent financial issues, Inter may look to make changes to their squad in January with the club having lost five of their 15 matches in Italy's top flight.

Although they have prevailed in the other 10 games, as many as 22 goals have been conceded, the team possessing the joint-12th worst defensive record in the division.

Inter Turn Their Attention To Fulham Fullback Antonee Robinson As Robin Gosens Replacement, British Media Report

Inter are ready to make an approach for Fulham left-back Anthonee Robinson as a replacement for Robin Gosens.

USA World Cup star Tim Ream had to cancel his kids' dream vacation to Disneyland after shock recall by Gregg Berhalter for Qatar - but the 'grandpa' of USMNT says they're now MORE excited about soccer

Defender Tim Ream, 35, had not played for USMNT since September 2021
He was playing well at Fulham but wasn't expecting to go to the World Cup
Gregg Berhalter brought him back and he's started both games in Qatar so far
USA needs to beat Iran on Tuesday to advance, or it will be flying back home

For Tim Ream, a shock recall to the USA team for the World Cup was a dream moment in his career. For his three young children, however, it wasn't immediately the case.

Before Gregg Berhalter named his World Cup roster, Ream had been enjoying an impressive season with Fulham on its return to the Premier League. But he hadn't played for USA since September 2021 and wasn't expecting the call to play.

He even booked a family trip to Disneyland with his wife Kirsten and three children, Aidan, Theo and Lilia - and then Berhalter called with a plane ticket to Qatar.

Tim Ream was a surprise recall for USA's World Cup roster and has played both games so far

Ream had to cancel a family trip to Disneyland and admitted his children - Aidan, Theo and Lilia - were initially sad to have missed out on the vacation

'I explained to them, 'What are your hopes? What are your dreams? Like, you have dreams, what do you want to do? Well, Daddy got a phone call, I am going to go to a World Cup, and we're going to have to postpone Disney,'" he told ESPN.

'It was a hard sell at first, probably the first hour,' Ream added. "Then once they wrapped their head around it, I think they were more excited to come here and see the spectacle and be involved in it now.

'They were asking for a week when they were getting on a plane and when they can get here.'

And they will be proud of what they've seen from their dad so far.

Ream played in both USA games so far and impressed - for USA, it all comes down to Iran now

Ream, 35 - jokingly described by Tyler Adams as the 'grandpa' of a USA team which is the second youngest in Qatar - has played the full 90 minutes in both games so far, and impressed in both the 1-1 tie with Wales and the 0-0 with England.

The fate of USMNT now rests on Tuesday's game against Iran. Win, and the USA is through to the last-16 of the tournament.

But lose, or record another tie, and Ream can pack his bags and may even have tip to get to Disneyland before the Premier League campaign with Fulham resumes.

Fulham Women win at Millwall
Fulham Women produced the perfect away performance as they beat league leaders Millwall Lionesses 3-1 this afternoon at a rainy St. Paul's Sports Ground.

Tia Foreman continued her terrific form from last weekend's Cup clash with AFC Wimbledon at Craven Cottage by sending in two superb corners to give the Whites a precious two-goal cushion and Steve Jaye's side weathered plenty of home pressure after Ella Bailey halved Millwall's arrears with a fine strike four minutes after the interval. The Cottagers claimed all three points when teenage substitute Ede Buchele brilliantly buried a third with five minutes left after unselfish wing play from Georgia Heasman.

The win was all the more impressive as Fulham were missing a number of first-team regulars through injury. Holly Cowan, deputising for Edie Cowan between the sticks, produced a vital early save from Jade Keogh's free kick and defended her goal diligently throughout. A feisty Fulham side were first to the ball in the opening exchanges, typified by the tenacity of birthday girl Annie Thomas and Alex Hayman in the middle of the park.

The visitors took the lead when a lovely outswinging corner from Foreman found its way to Thomas, who volleyed home emphatically. Helen Ogle and Ellie Olds went close with angled drives but another devilish delivery from Foreman caused absolute chaos in the Millwall back line, with an unfortunate defender diverting the ball into her own net. A torrential downpour made the second half much more attritional and the Lionesses penned Fulham back with more direct play.

They took great encouragement from a fabulous finish by Bailey, who drove home off the inside of the post from 20 yards after a free-kick had only been half cleared. Keogh went close with a couple of dead ball efforts from distance before both Becky Stormer and Mary Southgate produced excellent pieces of defending to keep the Whites' advantage intact. The Cottagers still carried a threat on the counter themselves: substitute Buchele forced a good save after a strong run before Hayman couldn't quite redirect a deep cross from Olds on target.

Fulham were furious when the referee waved play on after Heasman was taken out when clean through on goal, but with Millwall throwing bodies forward in search of an equaliser – the game was becoming increasingly stretched. The Whites took advantage to make sure of a vital victory with five minutes to play when Heasman capitalised on a defensive error to drive infield from the right and find Buchele in the centre. The forward checked inside two defenders and drove a low shot home to spark delirious celebrations from the travelling supporters.

The three points sees Fulham move up to third in the London and South East Regional Women's Premier League table, cutting the deficit to Millwall to just three points. The Whites are next in action next Sunday against Dulwich Hamlet at Motspur Park, with kick off at 2.30pm.

MILLWALL LIONESSES: Hand; Auguste, Chapman, Payne, Charles, Penfold, Kabadaki, Keogh, Welsh, Seely, Reid. Subs: Drewe, Jellett, Bailey, Connell, Williams.

GOAL: Bailey (49).

FULHAM WOMEN (4-3-3): Cowan; Allen, Foreman, Southgate, Stormer; Thomas, Lambird, Hayman; Ogle, Heasman, Olds. Subs: Kelly, Modak, Harris-Walters, Mendes, Buchele.

BOOKED: Thomas, Buchele.

GOALS: Thomas (5), own goal (32), Buchele (85).

REFEREE: David Hooker.

Wigan Athletic financial blow emerges on £20m-rated player in boost for Fulham ahead of potential transfer

Wigan Athletic will not be due a percentage of the fee generated for Antonee Robinson's services if Fulham decide to sell him to Inter Milan or another side in January, according to an update from journalist Alan Nixon (27/11; 3:11pm).

The United States international is currently away with his national side for the World Cup – and has the opportunity to impress on the world stage as he potentially eyes a move away from Craven Cottage in the coming years.

Playing a big part in helping the Cottagers return to the Premier League at the first time of asking last season, he has been one of the first names on the teamsheet once again on the left-hand side when available this term.

Also keeping a clean sheet against England on Friday evening, that will only go on to raise his valuation with Inter Milan reported to be lining up a move for him ahead of the winter window.

Although previously interested sides Manchester City and Wolves are refusing to pay the amount needed to lure him away from the English capital, believed to be as much as £20m, the Italian top-tier outfit may be able to come closer to matching that valuation.

However, Wigan won't receive any percentage of that fee because they didn't include a sell-on clause in their deal with the Cottagers when they sold him back in 2020.

The Verdict:
To be fair to the Latics, they were in administration at the time of his sale and needed every penny they could get for him, and they probably maximised his price tag by not including a clause like this.

And at that point, the club needed to prioritise the short term in their quest to survive, so many supporters won't be too bothered about the fact they won't receive a fee for him in the future.

It's slightly frustrating from their point of view though – because even a 10% sell-on clause could provide them with £2m extra to spend and in the end, that could be the difference between survival and relegation.

On paper, £2m isn't a huge amount in the Championship but that could end up funding a couple of eye-catching loan deals with the club able to pay a higher wage to a loanee with this extra money.

The Latics have only got three temporary additions at this stage and considering they are allowed five in a matchday squad, they have room for a couple more to come in so it's a shame they won't benefit if Robinson is sold during the winter window.

Rumor about Robinson continues but let's hope it is simply media generated. Hard to think how we would replace him at short notice.

He's contracted to us until June 2024. I hope we're not tempted by the money. That back 5 with Tete (I know he misses too many games), Diop, Ream & Robinson in front of Leno is good enough to give us a top half finish.

We need to look at the other end of the pitch with neither James nor Wilson exactly pulling up trees

It maybe he will be tempted by the prospect of playing for top class outfit.
