The Deer Hunter this afternoon & it was great, haven't seen it in years.

Terrific film.
Poor John Cazale never saw the end as he was already dying of cancer,Meryl Streep who was his partner, only took the part to look after him.
He only made 5 films and was Oscar nominated in all.

Smile, not usually a thing i would go to watch but i did enjoy it, the way the movie ended it definitely lends itself  to becoming a movie series!  The one thing i didn't like was one of the songs in the movie got stuck in my head and stayed there for several days  would recommend it though!

Watched LA Confidential yesterday bizarre film but a good one

bunter

Very rarely watch films but watched Radium Girls last weekend. Very sad 😔

FFC In Oz

Avatar 2 in 3D at the Melbourne IMAX.

3D films have come a long way since the last time i saw one.

Story was a bit cliche/average but the graphics and cinematography with the immersion of the 3D experience made up for it.

The Magnificent Seven for about the 70th time since it was released in 1960, how time flies! 1 of the best films I have ever watched, time after time!

I am in no way comparing it but having been too scared to watch the remake for fear of them destroying it, it turned out to be a really bloody good watch.  Would recommend!

I watched Medieval on Netflix (I think) so that nobody here has to.  It was utterly dreadful.

Woolly Mammoth

I watched HEAT over Christmas and a very good film indeed and story line with Robert De Nero, Al Pacino and Val Kilmer, i recommend it.

Also last night i watched an another film called SURVIVOR and thoroughly enjoyed that as well.

I second that.

Best comedic part in the movie was the following dialog:

Al-Pacino: What do you know about the lady in question?
Arrested Man: Who?
Al-Pacino: Who who ? What are you a f****** OWL.

that made me chuckle

blingo

I watched The Godfather for the umpteenth time last night.

I went to see it yesterday, I had pretty low expectations but had a cheap ticket to use, and I used to enjoy the 3D thing 10 years ago.

I thought it was a bit rubbish movie, very uninteresting, and dull, I popped out for ten minutes to have a break half way through as I was bored.

Yes some pretty good 3D watery scenes, but other than that not much else going on really, just a fancy cartoon that goes on for 3 and a quarter hours.

Shawshank Redemption - still a top film to this day

It really does stand up well, there's loads of "first time reaction" videos on YouTube, good to see younger folk really getting it too (reaction to Brookes is particularly so).

Has anybody seen Sight And Sounds "Greatest Movie Of All Time ?
It used to be Citizen Kane, then Vertigo, but in the recent poll it is Jeanne Dielman... Here's a clip, and yes, it is basically this for 3 hours...

Been a bit controversial 😁

When De Niro looks at the body in the boot and says to Samuel jackson "Who is that?"
And SJ says "Thats Beaumont, an employee I had to let go"

I like to look at boobs 😄 they make in films

In Heat (great film) when they coming  out of the bank,Pacino and his fellow cops see the robbers as if they were just 50 ft away but it takes them a while to run all the way down to the bank,as though it was a mile away.
