Video going around twitter of Silva in a long conversation with Fred in the car park of Old Trafford, apparently Marco got off the coach to speak to him. Many united fans see him as a good signing for us in the comments, im not sure how to post it but its on @tenhagera twitter account.

If its a deal its a big YES from me.

Who'd ge start instead of?

They seem to rate him but also want him gone? Also believe he'd walk into our first team.. instead of pereira or cairney?

Does seem odd if true that Silva would get off coach just to talk to him in a public space, unless they're friends but if they were then I'd imagine it'd be talked about via phone or in private..

His profile on transfermarket isn't the best and he's 30 already.

Assume Silva thinks he could be a Willian type of signing?

Played in 35 games for Utd this season, but only 30% of the minutes available, played 90 minutes just six times..

A proven premiership player so a yes from me.

I'm not bothered about him would rather watch Tom Cairney

I'm actually not too fussed, he's already 30 and we have the oldest squad in the league. If it's a loan then fine?

Surely we back Marco's judgement so if there's anything in this meeting and Marco wants him then we should try to get him. As I have said before if we want to challenge the big boys then we need to act like the big boys.

I trust him but already having the oldest squad in the league and adding aging players to it was the reason we got relegated the first time.

More importantly, if Marco was talking to him about coming, it would speak to his stance  on his own position next season, given all the talk.

Not a fan of him. Would prefer McTominay (younger, more energy and just a better player) if he gets the elbow from the dutch boss.

Possibly one of many reasons we got relegated, but certainly not a main one. And the oldies this season have certainly proved their worth and commitment to the cause.  Silva has Shahid's ear and he talks the right talk to all around him at FFC.  We'll see what the conversation was all about sooner or later or not at all ...

Fred is in my opinion, a far superior player. Man Utd move didn't quite work out for him, but he was world class at Shakhtar and has a lot of caps for Brazil. McTominay on the other hand, is one of the most overrated players in the league, in my opinion of course.

I think you would rather watch TC than anybody....only joking!

Apart from getting booked often what does he offer more than Harrison Reed?

I am not bothered about Fred's age, it's a myth as it's just a number.
It's how you perform and keep well conditioned, everyone is different.

In fact experience of the English Premier League is paramount.
As that is what you need to survive.
Nevertheless i am not completely convinced he is any better than what we already have.
Then again he may prove me wrong, but he has to be a player that will play within the framework of the team and not be a big time Charlie who thinks he is doing us a favour.
So i am currently 52/48 on this one.

My instinctive reaction is no. But then I wasn't too keen on Andreas or Willian, and look how silly I look now. At this rate Portuguese will become the dominant language in the changing room.

Somehow I don't see that conversation being about transfer, wouldn't that be tapping up?, maybe they just are well acquainted.

I think tapping up is out of the window these days with the advent of agents
