Tottenham want 'unbelievable' £50m Premier League striker
Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing up new strikers and are understood to be keen on Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is believed to be on Tottenham Hotspur's radar if they move for a new striker.

That is according to 90Min, who claim that Tottenham have Mitrovic on their radar for a summer transfer.

It's stated that Fulham want around £50million for Mitrovic, who has been chasing a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Al Hilal only offered around £30million this summer but their interest turned Mitrovic's head.

The Serbian still fancies moving on from Fulham and Tottenham are at least eyeing him up.

This would of course depend on Harry Kane leaving the club with Bayern Munich still chasing the Spurs hero.

Tottenham will be planning for a future with Kane but having targets in mind in case he leaves isn't a bad idea.

Mitrovic will be one of them as his strong Premier League campaign last season, hitting 14 goals in 24 games, has put him on the Tottenham wish list.

The former Newcastle United hitman has been hailed as 'unbelievable' by Marco Silva and it's no surprise that Fulham are fighting to keep him.

Ange Postecoglou loves a target man amid Aleksandar Mitrovic interest
Tottenham's push for intricate attacking football under Ange Postecoglou may leave some wondering if a physical, burly front man like Mitrovic fits in.

Yet if you look at Postecoglou's Celtic squad, there was always a target man in the mix.

Giorgos Giakoumakis arrived in Postecoglou's first transfer window, presenting a physical battering ram forward in attack, a complete change from Kyogo Furuhashi.

When Giakoumakis was sold to Atlanta United in January, Celtic moved to land 6ft 2in South Korean forward Oh Hyeon-gyu.

Postecoglou likes having that physical option up top but Tottenham have just brought in a player of that mould in Alejo Veliz.

The Argentinian is still raw but may be viewed as a player who can play that role for Postecoglou moving forward.

A key factor is pressing ability, something that Mitrovic has shown at times but maybe not to the level Postecoglou would be seeking.

We can't really see Tottenham investing big money in a 28-year-old Mitrovic at this point, but maybe he is a name to keep an eye on.

PL club confident they'll sign £120k-a-week Chelsea player by the weekend
Fulham are growing confident they'll be able to complete the signing Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi by the weekend.

That is according to a report from Sky Sports.

They claimed on Wednesday afternoon that Fulham have growing optimism they can agree a deal to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi in the next 24 to 48 hours.

It is understood that Marco Silva's side are now close to finalising a transfer for the 22-year-old attacker, who's not in Mauricio Pochettino's plans moving forward at Stamford Bridge.

The report added that personal terms are not expected to be a problem.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter a couple of weeks ago that Chelsea are asking Fulham to pay around £8million for Hudson-Odoi this summer.

There's no word in the report above how much they'll pay for the England winger, who's now entering the final year of his contract with the Blues.

Fulham revive talks with Manchester United for £20m-rated Brazilian midfielder Fred, with Erik ten Hag keen to raise funds to bring in new recruits

Fulham have been interested in the Brazilian midfielder, 30, all summer
Talks have now re-opened after United turned down an offer from Galatasaray
Erik ten Hag needs to offload players with three midfielders potentially leaving

Fulham have revived talks for Manchester United's Brazilian midfielder Fred.

Erik ten Hag needs to offload some members of his squad to raise funds for new recruits and Fred has been on the for-sale list all summer.

Fulham's interest in a player United value around the £20million mark was the first to emerge and there were also talks with Turkish club Galatasaray.

They made an undisclosed bid last month which was turned down by United, while Saudi Arabian clubs have also expressed an interest in the 30-year-old.

But Fulham could now offer Fred the opportunity to remain in the Premier League as discussions continue.

Fulham have re-opened talks with Manchester United over their Brazilian midfielder Fred

Fred has been on the for-sale list all summer as United manager Erik ten Hag reshapes his team

Fred signed for United from Shakhtar Donetsk for £52m in 2018 and has made 213 appearances across all competitions, scoring 14 times.

While Fred can't be faulted for his work ethic, he has often frustrated fans by giving the ball away in midfield or rushing into tackles.

Ten Hag did improve his ability to make late runs into opposition penalty boxes, as shown by a joint career-best return of six goals last season.

He could join fellow midfielders Scott McTominay, who is wanted by West Ham, and Donny van de Beek, in talks with Spanish side Real Sociedad, in leaving United before the window closes.

That would raise funds so Ten Hag can buy another midfielder, such as the Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat, valued by Fiorentina at £30m.

They also need reinforcements in defence following Harry Maguire's £30m move to West Ham.

Talks have been held over a move for Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo, with Bayer Leverkusen's Edmond Tapsoba, Bayern Munich's Benjamin Pavard and Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi also names in the frame.

Meanwhile, French club Amiens wants to take young United defender Teden Mengi on loan.

Everton transfer news as Alan Myers drops new signings claim ahead of Fulham clash
Everton will not be making any new signings bar Youssef Chermiti before their Premier League clash against Fulham on Saturday, 12 August, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on Wednesday (9 August) that there are no announcements lined up ahead of the weekend.

Thus far, the Toffees have signed just two players in Ashley Young and Arnaut Danjuma and the 19-year-old Portuguese striker is expected to be third one.

Via Twitter, Myers wrote, "We won't," in response to any other signings being made in the next four days.

Leaving it late
Everton have a nasty habit of leaving things late in the transfer window and they often tend to pay the price for such decisions.

They wait until deadline day and then don't get the players they want and end up with names not that high up on their priority list.

This summer, they've got in two and hopefully, three before the season begins, but that's not enough given how poorly the side played last season.

A fair argument could be made that the squad now is weaker than it was last season and that's not a good look for anyone associated with the club.

They need to be prioritising strengthening a team that narrowly avoided relegation on the final day of last season and are not doing that at all.

Tottenham reportedly want to sign £22m striker who got banned for eight games last year
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering signing Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer.

That's according to a report from 90min, who share who Spurs are targeting in the centre-forward role in this transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou still doesn't know who is going to be his starting striker for the rest of the campaign.

The obvious answer is Harry Kane if he stays at the club amid interest from Bayern Munich.

Three bids have been rejected so far, but the German giants don't seem deterred right now.

If he does go, then Tottenham have to consider bringing in a replacement.

Brazilian international Richarlison would suit Postecoglou's system.

However, he comes into this season off the back of finding the net just once in the league last year.

Tottenham are now considering a move for Aleksandar Mitrovic to potentially fill that void.

Mitrovic had a decent season at Craven Cottage last year that would have been even better had he not picked up an eight-game ban.

He's also already got a big fan in the Spurs squad in the form of Ryan Sessegnon.

Tottenham considering Mitrovic move
When Sessegnon and Mitrovic played together at Fulham, the wing-back once said: "He's on fire at the moment.

"All you have to do is keep feeding him the ball and you know he's going to score the goals for us."

Mitrovic cost Fulham £22m back in 2018 after helping them earn their first recent promotion.

Fulham have switched between the top two divisions plenty of times in past few seasons but finally stayed in the Premier League last year.

Mitrovic has been a key cog in Fulham's successes during that time, including breaking the Championship goalscoring record in 2022.

Tottenham might be considering Mitrovic as there are similarities between him and Kane.

They're both brilliant at holding up the ball and an underappreciated part of Mitrovic's game is his link-up play.

He also gets on the end of chances in the box regularly, although the £52m price tag Fulham have placed on him among interest from Saudi Arabia might put Tottenham off.

Tottenham register interest in signing Aleksandar Mitrovic
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly registered their interest in signing Fulham star Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer, as per 90min.

It appears Spurs are planning to accelerate their efforts to sign a new striker as a replacement for Harry Kane after agreeing to sell him to Bayern Munich.

Several players have been mentioned as possible targets for the North London club with Jonathan David, Mehdi Taremi and Gift Orban being among them but Mitrovic is now emerging as a potential option.

The 28-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia over the last few weeks and it was suggested that he was keen on making that switch. However, the deal has fallen through after Al Hilal failed to reach an agreement with Fulham regarding the transfer fee.

Now, according to the report by 90min, following Mitrovic's failed move to Saudi Arabia, Tottenham have registered their interest in signing him as a potential replacement for Kane if he leaves in this transfer window.

Mitrovic to Tottenham
The report further claims that Fulham don't want to let their star man leave for cheap and want at least £50m. So, Tottenham will have to spend big to acquire his service should they formalise their interest.

Spurs will earn a big fee if Kane opts to join Bayern Munich this summer. It has been suggested that Tottenham have accepted to sell the forward for more than £86m and the 30-year-old will now have to decide whether he wants to join Thomas Tuchel's side.

So, If Ange Postecoglou's side end up selling Kane this summer then they will have the financial resources to broker a deal for Mitrovic by matching Fulham's asking price.

The Serbian enjoyed a stellar campaign last term, scoring 14 goals and registering a solitary assist in 24 league appearances, helping his side in finishing in the top half of the table.

He is a Premier League proven striker and would be a good signing for Tottenham if they decide to acquire his service. But, the forward has disciplinary issues and has the tendency to pick up silly bookings – which could cost Spurs in important games should they sign him.

Therefore, Tottenham would be better off exploring other options to strengthen their frontline in this transfer window if Kane eventually moves away over the coming days.

Lille closing in on Cavaleiro capture
Lille are closing in on the signing of Fulham winger Ivan Cavaleiro according to reports in France.

Having failed in their attempt to sign Reims-bound Keiko Nakamura, LOSC have switched their attentions to Cavaleiro, who has fallen out of favour at Craven Cottage in recent seasons. Le Parisien correspondent Benjamin Quarez broke the story yesterday that Paulo Fonseca's side were interested in signing the 29 year-old and various French outlets are reporting today that Les Nordistes are confident of concluding a deal for the former Wolves wide man by the weekend.

Cavaleiro, who cost Fulham £15m when his loan from Molineux was made permanent in 2020, has scored seven goals in 77 appearances for the Whites but hasn't featured for the first team since a 1-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion last March. He spent last season on loan in Turkey, scoring twice in 22 appearances for Alanyaspor, and has a year left on his current contract.

Cavaleiro signs for Lille
Fulham winger Ivan Cavaleiro has completed a permanent move to Lille for an undisclosed fee, the club have confirmed this afternoon.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers wide man scored eleven goals in 104 appearances for the Whites, helping Scott Parker's side win promotion via the Championship play-offs in 2021. He dropped down the Fulham pecking order once Marco Silva replaced Parker the following summer and spent last season on loan with Turkish team Alanyaspor.

The 29 year-old has signed an initial one-year deal with the Ligue 1 outfit, with Lille holding an option to extend that contract by a further eighteen months.

Official | Fulham winger Ivan Cavaleiro joins Lille
Fulham FC winger Ivan Cavaleiro (29) has signed for Lille OSC, the French club has announced. The 2-time Portugal international was entering his final year of contract with the Cottagers. It is currently unclear as to whether or not Lille have paid a fee to the Premier League side for the player. Cavaleiro will numerically replace Jonathan Bamba, who joined La Liga outfit Celta Vigo this summer as a free agent, with Les Dogues. Cavaleiro spent last season on loan at Turkish Süper Lig side Alanyaspor where he registered four goals and five assists in 25 games played. He will wear the #17 shirt with the Paulo Fonseca-led side. Cavaleiro has signed a one-year contract with the option to extend his deal until 2025.

Lille OSC were also interested in LASK Japanese winger Keito Nakamura, but the latter is now expected to join Ligue 1 rivals Stade de Reims. Cavaleiro is no stranger to the Ligue 1. He spent the 2015-16 at AS Monaco. With Fulham, the Portuguese logged eleven goals and eight assists in 104 games played with the West London side. Lille will kick off the Ligue 1 season on Friday with an away game at INEOS-owned OGC Nice.

Unsuspecting Fulham star named Premier League's sexiest as Man City and Liverpool hearthrobs miss out

Centre-backs reign supreme on the Golden Ratio ranking of the sexiest Premier League stars.

Fulham star Issa Diop has been named the sexiest player in the Premier League by a new algorithm that looks to find the most scientifically attractive face.

The French centre-back is perhaps a surprise winner with no space for Manchester City heartthrob Jack Grealish or Liverpool shot-stopper Alisson, who regularly have fans hot under the collar online.

Diop scored a near-perfect 90.91 out of 100 in the Golden Ratio rankings and retains the title awarded to him by the algorithm in 2021. The 26-year-old is 6 ft 4 and comes from both Moroccan and Senegalese descent.

The centre-backs are clearly doing it for the ranking, with Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi coming in second place with an impressive 90.24 and Sheffield United defender John Egan taking third spot.

Spotting the rankings online, the Bournemouth media team broke the news to the rest of the squad, who couldn't quite believe the news. A sheepish Senesi was cajoled by colleagues. Dominic Solanke jibed: "Not sure about that, especially with the blonde hair."

Featuring in the rest of the list are Arsenal man Gabriel Martinelli, Crystal Palace defender Joachin Andersen and Everton's Vitaliy Mykolenko. Jack Grealish is nowhere to be seen with a score of 63.98.

The LiveFootballTickets algorithm worked by taking the top five highest-valued players in each Premier League side and collecting images to run the Golden Ratio test. A computer then identified facial landmarks and prominent facial features and created a % score with the higher the number equating to a more perfect Golden Ratio match.

The Premier League Golden Ration Top 10 -
    Issa Diop, Fulham, 90.91
    Marcos Senesi, AFC Bournemouth, 90.24
    John Egan, Sheffield United, 89.83
    Gabriel Martinelli, Arsenal FC, 89.44
    Joachim Andersen, Crystal Palace, 87.03
    Vitaliy Mykolenko, Everton FC, 86.11
    Martin Ødegaard, Arsenal FC, 86.03
    Morgan Gibbs-White, Nottingham Forest, 85.67
    Aaron Hickey, Brentford FC, 85.01
    Elijah Adebayo, Luton Town, 84.90

Fulham: Fabrizio Romano shares Hudson-Odoi latest
The Englishman is wanted at Craven Cottage.

Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared what he's heard on Fulham and their talks for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Who will Fulham sign next?
So far, the west Londoners have sealed moves for both defender Calvin Bassey, who signed from Ajax for £18.2 million, and Mexico international striker Raul Jimenez.

The opening weekend of the new season is soon upon Fulham, with manager Marco Silva's side set to face off against Everton on Saturday.

With just a few weeks of the transfer window remaining, and deadline day on September 1, it is vital that Fulham strengthen in key areas and Silva has publicly urged his club to do more business.

"Unfortunately, we need many still. We have some important players injured," he said to the press last month.

"I hope they can come sooner. We have just two full backs, we need a midfielder too and we have just two wingers so we need another two wingers.

"We have completed our central defenders. I needed these players 15 days or 20 days ago, not now."

Bearing this in mind, Fulham will be eager to add to Silva's ranks before time runs out, leading to their links with Man United midfielder Fred, Monaco full-back Ismail Jakobs and, of course, Chelsea's Hudson-Odoi.

The former Bayer Leverkusen loanee appears to not be in Mauricio Pochettino's plans moving forward and spent last season on loan in the Bundesliga.

Hudson-Odoi, who is rumoured to be on around £180,000-per-week, could well leave Stamford Bridge this summer and Fulham have been one of the sides most heavily linked.

There have even been reports that the winger is could be open to joining them this summer with reliable journalist Romano now sharing an update on X.

The reporter says Fulham are pushing to seal an agreement this week, in some good news for supporters, with Chelsea "clear" that Hudson-Odoi can leave the club.

He joins the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech as the other players who will not be part of Pochettino's project moving forward.

"Callum Hudson-Odoi," wrote Romano.

"Still training at Chelsea but Fulham are pushing to make the deal happen this week. Chelsea have been clear: CHO, Lukaku and Ziyech are not part of the club."

How good is Callum Hudson-Odoi?
The 22-year-old, despite struggling to consistently make his mark in recent seasons, still has bags of potential as a young player with former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard singing his praises in 2019.

Lampard, speaking to the media, tipped Hudson-Odoi to be "huge" whilst saying he can be an "incredible" player.

"I know what a player he is," said Lampard to the press.

"He can be an incredible player and he has improvement to make and I want to work with him to do it. But for that he needs to stay longer at the club and of course that then goes to a decision between him and the club itself. I can see him being a huge player for us."

While he hasn't exactly become a huge player for Chelsea, perhaps what Hudson-Odoi needs is a fresh start on the other side of west London.

Cavaleiro completes Lille switch
Fulham winger Ivan Cavaleiro has signed for French side Lille.

Cavaleiro joined from Wolves ahead of the 2019/20 season initially on loan from Wolves before making a £10 million permanent switch to Craven Cottage the following year.

The Portuguese winger spent last season on loan to Turkish side Alanyaspor and departs Fulham having made over 100 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals.

He was also part of two promotion-winning squads.

Dwight McNeil, Dele Alli and Seamus Coleman ruled out - Confirmed Everton team news v Fulham
Sean Dyche has confirmed that Everton will be without Seamus Coleman, Dwight McNeil and Dele Alli for the Premier League match with Fulham on Saturday (12 August).

The Merseyside outfit host the West London club at Goodison Park in their first match of the new Premier League campaign.

But the home side will be missing three key players, with Dyche also providing injury updates on defender James Tarkowski and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

"With Tarkowski, we were more being cautious over the last couple of games as you can imagine," Dyche said, as per the official Everton YouTube channel. "The squad is still skinny, it's more about managing the players. He's fine.

"Unfortunately for Dom, the games just run out in pre-season for him. He's fit and well as regards generally, we're just finishing off the games programme. We'll have to make a call for Saturday. Dele unfortunately has had a setback. He was just getting back in training, so that's not ideal.

"For Dwight unfortunately it won't be days, it will be weeks. It's an ankle ligament injury. He's not been injured very often, so we're hopeful he deals with it pretty quickly. Seamus is just on his way, coming through the natural part of his rehab."

Injury blows
Everton need all the help they can get this season, but this latest update from manager Dyche is a real blow, with the Toffees set to be up against it from the very start.

Fulham have had their own issues this summer after a top campaign last time out, and they will be very keen to kick things off with all three points.

Fortunately for Everton, the match is at Goodison Park, and the home supporters should be in full voice in order to give their players a much-needed boost, even after last season's disappointment.

The absences of Coleman and Alli were perhaps expected and therefore understandable for fans, but the loss of McNeil is huge, particularly given how strongly he finished the last campaign.

It's a massive day for the Toffees, with a loss on the opening day against Fulham set to strike fear into the club's supporters for the entire season.

Tarkowksi Fit For Fulham Opener
James Tarkowski has been declared fit and available for Everton's 2023/24 Premier League opener against Fulham.

The Blues host Marco Silva's side at Goodison Park on Saturday (3pm BST), with Tarkowski, who was substituted late on after suffering a knock in the 1-0 win over Sporting CP last weekend, ready to play having resumed full training this week.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, manager Sean Dyche also revealed Tarkowski is set to be the Everton's vice captain for the forthcoming season, when Club captain Seamus Coleman is unavailable.

Arnaut Danjuma, who sat out last weekend's final pre-season fixture with a minor injury, has also returned to training this week.

A late decision will be made on the inclusion of Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the matchday squad, with Dyche explaining the Blues striker still "needs game time" as he bids to rediscover peak condition but is "fit and well".

Dwight McNeil is set to be out for "weeks not days" with an ankle ligament injury sustained in the pre-season friendly victory at Stoke City, but Dyche, who pointed towards McNeil's impressive fitness record, is hopeful of a recovery on the quicker side of medical estimates.

Coleman, continuing his rehabilitation from a knee injury, and Dele, who has suffered a setback in his recovery from surgery over the summer, will not be available for the visit of Fulham.

Fulham season preview: Fight for survival looms as new-look attack could be called into action

It has been a turbulent summer at Fulham that the Cottagers still hope to emerge from relatively unscathed.

A transfer saga regarding Aleksandar Mitrovic rumbles on ahead of their opener Everton as Marco Silva's side look to emulate last year's incredible return to the top flight.

Here, Standard Sport reporter Dom Smith previews the Cottagers' 2023-24 campaign...

What has changed in 11 weeks?
At one point it looked like Fulham might lose manager Marco Silva and top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic after both were linked with moves to Saudi Arabia. Mitrovic's future remains uncertain, but Silva has pledged his future to the club. Keeping hold of midfielder Joao Palhinha also looks key.

Transfer business
Defender Calvin Bassey, a £19m signing from Ajax, looks an exciting buy. In Raul Jimenez, they have brought in a proven centre-forward for £5m. But the Mexican has scored just six Premier League goals since fracturing his skull in November 2020. Fulham have lost Manor Solomon, while Mitrovic still wants to leave.

Tactic to look for
The fluidity of Solomon, Willian and Andreas Pereira made Fulham wonderfully hard to contain in the first half of last season. With Solomon now at Tottenham, Harry Wilson looks set to step up as their third playmaker behind the striker. Can he be as effective?

Success would be... Surviving comfortably. Fulham were as high as sixth last season and finished 10th at the end of an impressive first season back in the top flight, but this could be a more difficult campaign. An unhappy Mitrovic and a pre-season shoulder injury for Palhinha are a worry.

Fenerbahce make £13m bid for Manchester United midfielder Fred with Fulham, Galatasaray and French clubs also interested in out-of-favour £20m-rated man

A number of clubs are interesting in signing Manchester United midfielder Fred
The 30-year-old, valued at £20m, is the subject of a £13m offer from Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce have made a £13million offer to Manchester United for midfielder Fred.

The Brazilian also has interest from Fulham, Galatasaray and clubs in France.

United are ready to sell Fred and offload Donny van de Beek to Real Sociedad, clearing a path to bring in a new midfielder.

Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat is their prime target but they have also considered Romeo Lavia and Amadou Onana.

As reported earlier by Mail Sport, Fulham have revived talks over Fred.

Fenerbahce have made a £13million bid for out of favour Manchester United midfielder Fred

Boss Erik ten Hag must offload unwanted players to free up funds to secure further targets

In order to splash more cash this summer, Erik ten Hag must first offload unwanted members of his squad, with Fred now surplus to requirements.

Fulham were one of the first to lodge interest in the 30-year-old, who is valued at around the £20m mark by United. They may be open to compromising, however.

Galatasaray saw an undisclosed bid rebuffed last month, while a number of Saudi Arabian sides have also expressed an interest in the Brazil international.

Discussions are believed to be continuing with Fulham, though the latest bid from Fenerbahce presents United with a welcome raft of options.

Fred arrived at Old Trafford from Shakhtar Donetsk for £52m in 2018 and has made 213 appearances across all competitions, scoring 14 goals.

United have held talks over a move for Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, meanwhile, with Benjamin Pavard, Edmond Tapsoba and Marc Guehi also on the shortlist.

Team News: João To Miss Everton

Fulham could be light in central midfield for our season opener at Goodison Park on Saturday.

In his pre-match press conference, Marco Silva revealed that João Palhinha is yet to fully recover from the shoulder injury he suffered in the early stages of the Summer Series.

"João is out," our Head Coach confirmed. "He's been doing individual work but not full work with the team yet.

"We have to assess him day by day. To be honest, now we are much more positive about the return date, but we have to see.

"We expected him to be probably ready for the first matchday but it's not going to be possible.

"And after, we have to see day by day, to analyse him, how he's going to react, and to see if he's going to be ready for the next one or not."

Palhinha is not the only injury concern, though there is hope the other doubts could be fit to take on Everton.

"We have to assess some of the others, some knocks the last few games, last few days as well," Silva said. "There are some doubts, like Andreas Pereira and some of the other players.

"There's nothing really serious but we have another session tomorrow and we have to assess them and, after, to take decisions for the game."

Silva also named Tom Cairney as one of the players who requires further assessment ahead of the weekend's trip to Merseyside.
