The suggestion that anti hunters were responsible for the tree damage is not valid but possible that such a thought is spread by hunters.

Anti-hunters would have no reason to have a grudge against the NT for banning hunting on their land, whereas hunters almost certainly have.

Lets get the matter perfectly right.
Hunters are of course not happy about the hunting ban on NT land and anti hunters are not entirely happy as the NT do permit Drag Hunting and the hunters are known to cheat.
So thinking about it again while hunters would have the prime motive to make a point some strong anti hunters could also be driven to this foolish action.
