Fulham to hold firm on Joao Palhinha asking price?
Fulham are reportedly unwilling to compromise on their asking price for Bayern Munich target Joao Palhinha.

The Portuguese midfielder, who joined Fulham from Sporting Lisbon in 2022, was on the verge of joining Bayern in the summer transfer window.

Palhinha travelled to Germany with a view to completing a permanent transfer to the perennial Bundesliga champions.

However, the proposed deal ultimately collapsed after the deadline passed before the two clubs could finalise a transfer.

After seeing the move fall through, Palhinha subsequently signed a new long-term contract with Fulham until the summer of 2028.

Despite putting pen to paper on a lengthy deal, the former Sporting man continues to be linked with a move to Thomas Tuchel's side.

Bayern are looking to add to their central midfield options, which currently include Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer.

Recent speculation has suggested that Fulham would be willing to hold negotiations over their valuation of the Portugal international.

However, according to TEAMtalk, the Premier League side have no intention of lowering their asking price for Palhinha.

Fulham have no interest in selling Palhinha below the price previously discussed with Bayern, which is believed to be in the region of £57m.

Although Palhinha remains a target for Bayern, they are not prepared to spend a significant part of their budget on one player.

While the 28-year-old continues to be linked with a move to Germany, the report also states that Fulham are closing in on a potential replacement.

There is belief that the West London club are making progress in their pursuit of Fluminense midfielder Andre, who has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Andre, who has made 165 appearances for Fluminense, is widely expected to leave the Brazilian club in the January transfer window.

Fulham transfer news: Brazil international midfielder Andre interesting Marco Silva's side
Fulham are interested in a January deal for Fluminense midfielder Andre; Brazil international was a target for Liverpool in summer; Fulham are looking for a new defensive-midfield player as they brace themselves for another approach from Bayern Munich for Joao Palhinha

Fulham are interested in Fluminese and Brazil midfielder Andre

Fulham are interested in a January deal for Fluminense midfielder Andre.

The 22-year-old Brazil international has been tracked by Liverpool for some time and was a target for them in the summer, as revealed then by Sky Sports News.

However, Jurgen Klopp opted to sign other midfielders instead including Ryan Gravenberch and Waturo Endo, and it appears the Reds' interest in Andre, who helped Fluminense win the Copa Libertadores earlier in November, has therefore cooled.

Andre to replace Palhinha?
Fulham are hoping to steal a march on the other competition - so much so that chief executive Alistair Mackintosh recently flew to Brazil for talks over his potential signing.

Fulham are looking for a new defensive-midfield player as they brace themselves for another approach from Bayern Munich for Joao Palhinha in January.

They tried to bring in Scott McTominay to replace him in the summer, but he is not expected to leave Manchester United midway through the season.

Fulham are also maintaining their summer interest in signing a new centre-back due to the continued uncertainty over Tosin's future.

His contract is expiring next summer so he is free to speak to foreign clubs about a pre-contract agreement.

Monaco were bidding for him right up until the deadline in August.

Fulham are also looking at potential new striker options.

2 Fulham players being considered for transfer – Opportunity for Silva to clear the decks
If Fulham are interested in negotiating the sale of any of their Brazilian strikers in the winter transfer window, it seems they'll have a good opportunity to do that.

Zero Hora journalist Eduardo Gabardo features a piece claiming Carlos Vinícius and Rodrigo Muniz are both targeted by clubs from their home country.

Palmeiras are said to be interested in Carlos Vinícius, while Rodrigo Muniz is in the 'radar' of Atlético Mineiro and Grêmio.

It's said both Fulham players have been drawing attention since the last season, and Palmeiras are currently considering making an official bid for Carlos Vinícius.

Grêmio and Atlético Mineiro, who previously made an approach for Muniz, currently 'observe the situation'.

It seems clear that all clubs are waiting for a green light from Fulham to open negotiations for the two strikers, who've been competing for a place in Marco Silva's side.

Carlos Vinícius has two goals in nine appearances this seaosn, while Rodrigo Muniz only scored once in eight games. Those are similar situations, and it's down to the Whites whether to let one of them go.

PL club at advanced stage in bid to sign Liverpool transfer target who could replace key figure
Fulham are reportedly now at an advanced stage in their pursuit of the transfer of Fluminense midfielder Andre, hoping for no late setbacks in the deal.

Fabrizio Romano has previously told CaughtOffside about Liverpool's admiration for the talented young Brazilian, but it now seems the Reds could be about to miss out on this potential signing to one of their Premier League rivals.

According to a report from Team Talk, Fulham are now well progressed in their bid to bring Andre to Craven Cottage, and it could be that his signing will help them a lot as the future of Joao Palhinha continues to look a little uncertain.

Palhinha was a top target for Bayern in the summer and it's long been expected that they'd try again for the Portugal international, and Andre could be ideal as a long-term replacement.

Still, this could be a blow for Liverpool, who lost a lot of midfielders in the summer, with Fabinho and Jordan Henderson both moving to Saudi Arabia, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita left on free transfers.

LFC responded by signing Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo, so they might not feel they need another signing in that area of the pitch, even if they do admire Andre.

Fulham closing in on signing 'special' £30m player in January, deal is 'well progressed'
Fulham are reportedly closing in on the signing of Fluminense midfielder Andre in the January transfer window.

A report from TEAMTalk has suggested that the competition the Whites were set to face for the Brazilian has fizzled out.

Pretty much every Fulham fan would agree right now that the team need reinforcements in a couple of key areas.

A new striker is essential, with Raul Jimenez struggling to fill the boots of Aleksandar Mitrovic after his summer move to Saudi Arabia.

Rodrigo Muniz's injury has come at an inopportune time while Carlos Vinicius becomes more and more of a liability every time he steps on the pitch.

The likes of Jonas Wind and Chuba Akpom have been linked with a move but neither transfer appears to be advanced currently.

However, Fulham are now closing in on signing Andre which would be a huge coup for the club.

The Copa Libertadores winner would be the latest addition to the lusophones group at the club.

Valued at £30m, the 'special' midfielder alongside Joao Palhinha could immediately elevate Marco Silva's side.

Fulham now closing in on Andre
The report from TEAMTalk suggests that a deal between Fulham and Andre is now 'well progressed'.

Fluminense and Andre refused a summer transfer due to their participation in the Copa Libertadores, but now that he has a winner's medal around his neck, he's ready to move on.

Interest from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal appears to have cooled, although, with the transfer window not opening for another month, there's still plenty of time for that to change.

It would be a change from Fulham's typical behaviour in the transfer market to have a big signing lined up before the window has even opened.

More often than not Fulham fans have to wait for signings like Andre to come through the door just as the window is closing.

Andreas Pereira showed 18 months ago that it doesn't need to take long for a player to immediately adapt to the switch from the Brazilian top flight to the Premier League.

Andre won't solve Fulham's goalscoring woes but could provide more control in the centre of the pitch, allowing the likes of Harry Wilson and Willian to concentrate on chance creation for whichever striker Silva selects up top.

Fulham making progress in deal to sign Andre
Fulham are reportedly inching closer to signing Brazilian midfielder Andre, a target for Arsenal and Liverpool, from Fluminense.

A report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Fulham are making progress in their deal to sign 22-year-old Fluminense midfielder Andre. He is a target for clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool as well.

Andre has impressed with his performances for Fluminense over the past year. So, it is no surprise that the top clubs are keen on securing his signature. He could develop into a quality Premier League midfielder, and it remains to be seen whether Fulham can secure his services.

The West London club could lose Joao Palhinha in the coming months, and the Brazilian would be a quality replacement. The Portuguese international has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, and Fulham will have to bring in an adequate replacement if he moves on.

Signing the 22-year-old Brazilian could prove to be a wise decision, and he has all the attributes to develop into a top-class player. Meanwhile, Arsenal are keen on the player as well. Thomas Partey has been linked with a move away from the north London club and they will have to replace the Ghana international properly.

Andre would certainly be a quality long-term acquisition for them, and Mikel Arteta could help him develop into a key player for Arsenal. The Brazilian could form of quality partnership with Declan Rice at the heart of the Arsenal midfield.

Meanwhile, Liverpool tried to sign multiple defensive midfielders at the start of the season but failed to do so. Alexis Mac Allister has been deployed as the anchor this season. But the Argentine international is more suited to the role of an advanced central metro elder.

Liverpool must look to sign a quality defensive midfielder during the January window, and Andre has emerged as a viable target for them. They were linked with a move for the 22-year-old during the summer transfer window as well. But Fluminense were not keen on losing him midway through the season.

The player will be looking to take the next step in his development, and moving to the Premier League will be an attractive proposition for him. He has helped Fluminense win the Copa Libertadores and will feel he needs to take the next step in his career and pursue a different challenge.

Could this be our starting XI after the January window?

Arthur Duke returns to give us a possible glimpse into our 2024 line-up.

In this article, I (with the help of Cayden Dorman, admin of FulhamFanpage11 on Instagram) have decided to forecast what could be Silva's go-to XI post-January transfer window. After Silva penned a new deal keeping him at the club for another two and a half years, the logical assumption would be that he is likely to be backed in the coming windows. This article looks at where those funds could be invested – starting as soon as in January.

We've set a budget of £50 million (net spend). I believe this is a realistic number if Marco Silva were to be backed heavily in the January window. And considering Tony Kahn's net spend was concerningly low last summer, this is a number which is more than realistic.

GK: Bernd Leno

There's no surprise to see Bern Leno in this line-up. His arrival for an initial £3m was arguably one of the best value deals that took place in the Premier League that summer. Even with a total deal price of £8m, it's a steal.

Over the last year and a half, Leno has proved to be vital to Silva's setup. One of the main statistical criticisms Silva has faced is the high xG that Fulham have conceded. And last season, that was a trade-off worth taking with a more attacking philosophy and a goalkeeper that can be relied on in the big moments.

Statistically, Leno is even more impressive. I could rattle off most goalkeeper-based statistics and the reality is Leno is at least solid in all of them. But the stat that best represents Bernd Leno's time at Fulham is called 'PSxG-GA'. Post-shot expected goals (PSxG) measures the extent to which a player should have scored an opportunity and is essentially a more detailed form of xG that can be used to measure the quality of shots the goalkeeper is being faced with. PSxG-GA takes this number and subtracts goals against from it. Bernd Leno in the last 365 days has recorded a PSxG-GA of '+0.31' which ranks in the 99th percentile of goalkeepers. This is one of the key reasons Fulham have been able to record a lower goals conceded number than expected.

Leno's place is never in doubt and he'll continue for a long time to come.

LB: Fodé Ballo-Touré

When it came to the left-back position. I decided to deviate from the norm and go with Fodé Ballo-Touré. There is no doubt that since Robinson's arrival, his pace and physical prowess has been a huge asset to Silva. However, there are several justified reasons why I think Fodé could claim the left-back spot post-January transfer window.

Firstly, Silva has a track record of not shying away from changing the status quo at the back. Last year, Tosin lost his spot to Issa Diop. And the year prior, Tete lost his place to Neco Williams, both have one thing in common: injury woes accompanied by strong competition. Robinson's muscular issues with Ballo-Touré breathing down his neck fits this same narrative.

Secondly, let's not forget how complex the Ballo-Touré transfer saga was. Earlier in the window, it was reported that Ballo-Touré promptly rejected a permanent move to Fulham, so it's unlikely that that move materialised without further promises, one of which could be playing time.

Our third and probably most important reason is the performances Robinson has produced this season. Alongside his two own goals (criticised by Silva), Robinson is in the lower percentile of the Premier League this season when it comes to shots blocked and dribbled past statistics. And when considering the defensive problems Silva has had this season, the left back spot could be an easy fix with Fodé waiting in the wings.

LCB: Tim Ream

It's very clear that Marco does not need to be backed in the LCB department. Currently he has two very different but very capable left-sided defenders. When it comes to the long-term future of the club, the sensible answer is Calvin Bassey in terms of his age and potential. However, this article is concerned with only the second half of the season. And for that reason, I have decided to stick with our US veteran.

Despite his age, Ream has continued to perform admirably in possession-based statistics. He ranks in at least the 70th percentile in his position for passes attempted, pass completion percentage, progressive passes, progressive carries and successful take-ons.

Currently I'm on a year abroad at the University of Connecticut. So, I had the liberty of watching Ream when the USMT visited my university's home ground to play Germany in a friendly. Despite the second half collapse by the entirety of the US team, Ream looked composed, assured, and ultimately capable of competing with some of the best attacking talents in the world right now. When pressed (especially in the first half) he looked comfortable playing at a high tempo and looked by far the best defender in the US line-up positionally and in anticipation of attacking threats.

Since Silva took the reins, Ream has been his most used player. Which shows the highest level of trust when it comes to performances and leadership. It's a certainty that Fulham will face intense challenges in the second half of the season. Whether that is a relegation battle, or the cup run us Fulham fans crave. In those moments, a consistent familiar face at the back can offer a strong base to build on. Bassey's time will come, but for now, Ream gets the nod.

RCB: Tosin Adarabioyo

This season has shown more than ever that two left-footed centre-backs playing together is a bad idea; they can be exposed at the highest level of the Premier League. This leaves Tosin and Diop as the candidates for this role, so I decided to go for the former.

There's no doubt that for this choice to materialise, a high change of tune must occur. Tosin has been linked with a move away across the last three transfer windows. And with his contract expiring in the summer, there are serious question marks over his commitment to Fulham.

Marco Silva's contract could become a statement of intent that can be a catalyst for this change. Tosin has shown to be a valuable asset in Marco's set up hence the fact that Silva will likely be in charge for the next two and a half years could be the difference between Tosin signing a contract extension or not.

Comparing Diop and Adarabioyo during the 2022/23 season becomes very interesting. Both played roughly the same minutes, and to summarise their defensive performances, the stats are very close as well. Where they begin to differentiate is when it comes to passing and attacking threat, Diop records better numbers in shorter-based passing scenarios. But when it comes to longer passes and progressions further up the pitch, Tosin thrives. He averaged 0.78 shot-creating actions per 90 last season, compared to Diop's 0.40.

In passing data, there is a huge difference as well in Tosin's favour. He attempts more switches and through balls per 90. It's clear that both players are comfortable with the ball at their feet but drastically different in how they use the ball. Diop is strong in retaining the ball and making short successful passes, whereas Tosin is a defender better equipped to cause teams problems from a deep position.

The fact that Tosin is a more dangerous player has given him the green light in this team. And when he is back from injury, he could offer a slight improvement when it comes to our ability to create chances this season.

RB: Kenny Tete

The right-back position is another close call between existing players, this time Timothy Castagne and Kenny Tete.

Timothy Castagne has been a very assured option this season. It's in contrast to last season, which saw De Cordova-Reid as makeshift back-up for most of the season. This season, the competition is a great headache to have, but doesn't change who the better option is.

Kenny Tete brings a unique dynamic to this back line. His main strength is his tackling ability which recorded a 76% success rate in the 2033/23 season. Moreover, the location of these tackles is also a huge asset to Fulham. Just over 15% of his tackles last season were in the attacking third, which played a big role in Fulham being able to win the ball high up the pitch and spring fast attacks.

In shot creation scenarios (similar to Tosin) he recorded two fewer actions than Castagne despite playing six games fewer. When adjusted to a 'per 90' basis, Tete takes a commanding lead in most attacking statistics, especially crossing numbers where he averaged 1.87 more crosses per 90 than Castagne.

It would be naive to say that Kenny Tete will be the first choice right-back for the entirety of the second half of the season. In reality, his injury troubles mean that his time on the pitch needs to be managed. The fact that we have a player like Castagne as an option has to be valued and utilised more than any other position in this team. Overall, allowing Kenny to take the majority of playing time in the right-back role, but have the insurance of a solid Castagne should he need a rest or period of time on the sidelines.

CDM: João Palhinha

It's no surprise to see Palhinha listed in this starting XI. The Portuguese superstar is comfortably the first name on the team sheet.

There are a lot of theories about what is written on João's new contract. From release clauses to a huge pay rise. But one thing Khan has surely achieved is Palhinha's commitment to Fulham until the summer. It would take a colossal offer to persuade Khan to cash in during the January window, which of course is not out of the realms of possibility.

João walks into this Fulham XI. And probably most teams in world football.

CM: André (permanent transfer from Fluminense)

Originally, I had pencilled in Harrison Reed for this role. But after not spending as much as anticipated in the key areas we needed. I had some money left over to spend in the middle of the park. And I arrived at the conclusion that this would be best spent on long-term target André. It's worth noting that André is by far our most optimistic signing; his links to Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool concern me. But according to reports, Fulham are holding their own in the early stages of talks. So, never say never.

André has been predominantly deployed as a defensive deep lying playmaker in the number six. But there are a few reasons I could see this change to a more offensive role if he were to swap Fluminense for Fulham.

Firstly, João Palhinha is unlikely to be moved in this set-up. André ranks OK in most of the defensive metrics such as aerials won, tackles and interceptions, but compared to João, there is certainly no doubt he would struggle to take Palhinha's place. But even if I could work out a way to give André the six role, I still believe André's qualities are best in a more advanced position.

André's strongest quality is his passing ability where he has averaged a 94% pass completion with 78.46 passes attempted per game. His attacking threat is something that is evident in his successful Take-Ons (1.40 per 90) and progressive carries/passes (both in the 73rd percentile of his position). By being used as a number eight. Fulham would have more joy in breaking down teams with a consistent and reliable passer and ball carrier in the engine room.

André is also no stranger to the more offensive role. He is rumoured to have played in various attacking roles throughout his youth career playing as an eight, 10, and even a short stint at striker. This is a clear trait in his game to this day, where he uses his attacking instincts to cause teams problems from a deeper role. Giving him the licence to go forward could release the shackles from what I already know is a dangerous player in attacking scenarios.

André being pushed further up the pitch still doesn't close the door on his natural position. If Silva wanted to, he could adopt a double pivot with both João and André adjacent to each other, allowing the latter's qualities to be used from deeper positions. And if he were to share the pitch with Palhinha for the second half of the season, André could learn what João brings to the midfield first-hand before potentially inheriting his role in the future. Finally, despite his high promise, he has only played 64% of minutes for Fluminense. Using him as a more advanced eight would present more opportunities to rotate him with Harrison Reed and Saša Lukić.

Bringing André to Craven Cottage would provide Marco Silva a young blank slate who could be developed into a world class number six, eight, or both. André's links to Fulham are incredibly exciting and if he were to join Marco Silva, the possibilities are endless for his role in this team both in the short and long-term.

CAM: Alex Iwobi

One of the last deals that Fulham completed in the summer transfer window was the signing of Iwobi from Everton for a reported £22 million. Despite initial criticism from fans, it's proved a good deal. Iwobi has been deployed in several positions and has shown in each of his outings that he is more than capable of competing at the highest level as a versatile asset.

The question should be where he operates in this team rather than if he gets into this team. This season, he has played as a number eight, slightly higher in a number 10, and even outside on the inverted left side. In this XI we have chosen to make him the more advanced of the midfield three.

We have chosen to deploy Iwobi more advanced for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Andreas Periera's performances have been underwhelming this season. Meaning it's as simple as Iwobi being the best fully-fit option in this position. Alex Iwobi this season has averaged 1.94 take-ons, 5.16 progressive passes and 39.85 attempted passes per 90 minutes. All three stats are at least 16 percentile points higher than Andreas' performances this season.

Secondly, Iwobi operating higher allows André to come into this XI. I won't repeat what was said previously for André. But considering Fulham's defensive woes and tendency to let games fall away at the early stages. Having that extra 'bite' will offer a more structured and defensively sound midfield unit.

That's why we believe Iwobi will be used as a number 10 more in the future.

LW: Willian

This was a position that I came close to choosing a replacement mainly due to his age and slowly declining sharpness. But to repeat the aim of this article, this XI is one for the second half of the season only, which plays down the role of long-term planning. Considering the desperation for investment in other areas of the pitch, this is an area that can be untouched until the remainder of the season. If Willian is fit, he starts and here is why.

Despite declining performances on the eye. On the whole, he hasn't been as bad as people think. A major problem Fulham have had this season is creating and taking chances. And this is an area that Willian has been the strong in, he has averaged 4.04 shot-creating actions per 90 minutes and constantly looks to progress the ball whether that is with the ball at his feet dribbling or using his 77.1% pass completion.

The areas of his game that have seen sharp declines are his successful take-ons and his goals per shot. Both of these I believe are confidence related, we have seen in the past (last season) that he can thrive in these areas. But that requires taking risks which statistically he has not done this campaign.

The more his confidence grows. The more we see him take on more defenders in attacking scenarios and take on more risk in shooting positions, if this trend is to materialise, Fulham will inevitably become a stronger force in front of goal.

RW: Harry Wilson

When it came to the right-sided winger it was a close call between Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Harry Wison. But in the end, I decided to go with the option that best represents a Marco Silva winger.

This season has seen some bright sparks for Harry. He has had some good moments in the EFL cup and has made some positive impacts off the bench. On an international level, there is even more to shout about. Wilson's 50th Welsh cap against Croatia saw him score both goals in a 2-1 win. A result that was huge in prospective qualification for the 2024 European Championships. The more and more flashes of brilliance we see from Harry Wilson, the more and more optimistic we are about seeing him back to his best, hopefully soon enough to claim a regular starting spot in the second half of the season.

Ultimately, this is a decision made with a lot of emotion and optimism. But I can see the Welsh wizard firing on all cylinders come the turn of the season.

ST: Sehrou Guirassy (permanent transfer from VfB Stuttgart)

After Alexander Mitrovic, we waited and waited for Khan to whip out the cheque book and bring in a new striker. The closer it got to deadline day, the clearer it became that Raúl Jiménez would be the successor (at least until January).

Don't get me wrong, Raúl has looked good when linking up with his fellow teammates. But his confidence has proved a major issue when it comes to being ruthless and clinical in front of goal. Before we talk about Guirassy, it's worth noting that at least one outgoing must happen first. Whether that is Muniz out on loan, or a permanent exit for Vinicius. Four strikers is certainly too many.

When it came to scouting the market for a potential signing. I looked at roughly 20 candidates. This list included the likes of Tammy Abraham, Enes Ünal, Mehdi Taremi and Santiago Gimenez. But in the end, we settled on Serhou Guirassy.

The first reason for this is the competition in this market. Some of the biggest European giants have circled around the likes of Gimenez, Taremi and Abraham. But when it comes to Guirassy, it's a more manageable transfer race. Serhou Guirassy has concrete links to Nottingham Forest and loose links to Newcastle. Fulham would be able to offer more game time and by extension, a more important role in the squad than Newcastle, and could afford to flex their financial muscle against Nottingham Forest, given the financial boost from Mitrovic's departure.

Secondly, Guirassy offers something unique to the striker market in terms of all round ability. He is amongst the best in the world for 'non-penalty goals' per 90. He is in the 94th percentile for key passes per 90 minutes and attempts 27.04 passes per 90 with a 79.8% success rate. His presence in the attacking box also can't be denied, Guirassy averages 5.82 touches per 90 in the penalty area.

But by far the most important statistic to us when we compared him to the rest of the market is his ability to put the ball in the back of the net. This season he ranks in the 99th percentile for shots taken, shots on target and raw conversion rate (which is 51.72%). Guirassy is a profile of striker that can offer what Raúl does in terms of holding up the ball and general possession play. Whilst still being ruthless in front of goal. A trait Marco Silva has been begging for.

Based on reports, Fulham would negotiate a price in the region of £17.5 million to £25 million. But of course, this could change as January talks rarely go smoothly. Even at an inflated price, this would be a huge signing for Fulham.

'It's a bit annoying' - Fulham CB Bassey reflects on being booked for time-wasting against Arsenal
Fulham central defender Calvin Bassey has reflected on the controversial yellow card dished out to him for time-wasting by referee Paul Tierney in the 50th minute of the Cottaggers' 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium back in August.

The Nigeria international was yellow carded again in the 83rd minute for blocking Eddie Nketiah at a counter attack, leading to his dismissal.

The first yellow card issued to Bassey was a bit harsh because Nketiah was in the area and he was not supposed to take the goal kick until the Arsenal striker got out of the box.

According to the International Football Association Board, 'all opponents are required  to be outside the penalty area until the goal kick is taken and if an opponent remains inside or enters the penalty area before the kick is taken and plays, challenges or touches the ball, the goal kick is retaken'.

Bassey revealed that he was disappointed to be walking a disciplinary tightrope early in the second half.

Reflecting on the yellow card against Arsenal, Bassey said to Fulham's official website: "It's one of those things. It's a bit annoying as a player and for the manager as well because sometimes in games you might just have to take a yellow and having to be on a yellow is obviously tough.

"Of course emotions got over but it is a good learning curve."

Bassey has not been cautioned in his last seven Premier League appearances for Fulham ahead of their trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday.

Fulham fully confident they're going to sign £34m player linked with Liverpool move
Fulham are reportedly confident they're now going to sign Andre Trindade, with Liverpool strongly linked with a move for the Fluminense midfielder.

The Brazilian international has been heavily rumoured with a move to Anfield for quite some time, with Andre linked with Liverpool during the summer transfer window.

However, as we approach January, it's Fulham who have emerged as the new favourites to sign the £34m-rated midfielder, and the Cottagers are now closing in on a deal for Andre.

According to TeamTalk, the west London side are fully confident that they will secure Andre's signature, with Fulham hopeful there now won't be any late twists in securing the youngster's signature.

Given how intense links to Liverpool were for Andre, the midfielder heading to Fulham will be viewed by many as quite the surprise in the January window.

However, it is now seemingly clear that the Reds have moved on from the Brazilian youngster, with Liverpool likely to target other midfielders in the winter market.

Liverpool could soon regret letting Fulham sign Andre Trindade
Andre at one point looked destined to join Liverpool in January, yet Fulham have shattered any expectation of this transfer actually happening in the new year.

Whilst the Reds might have good reason to not move for the midfielder, there could soon be a situation where Liverpool will regret not signing Andre ahead of his planned move to Fulham.

Indeed, Jurgen Klopp needs a central midfielder in January if he is to keep up with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

And missing out on Andre to a club like Fulham could come back to haunt Liverpool, who might have been the perfect club for the Fluminense superstar in 2024.

Cairney: 'VAR needs to do more for fans in stadiums'
Fulham captain Tom Cairney discussed the controversial penalty incidents during Monday night's win over Wolverhampton Wanderers during another stint on the Soccer Special panel last night.

Cairney insisted that he had felt contact from Nelson Semedo before going down for Fulham's first penalty of the evening and felt that the match-winning stoppage-time spot-kick, awarded after Joao Gomes had caught substitute Harry Wilson in the area, was a penalty but feels that the process undertaken by the video assistant referee has to give more information to match-going fans.

Fulham star potentially set for January heartbreak – Club want 'cheap solutions' in next transfer window
Fulham star Joao Palhinha could be set for January transfer window heartbreak, as Bayern Munich aren't pushing to get him again just yet.

That's according to journalist Christian Falk, who says the German champions are focusing on 'cheap solutions' for the winter window rather than big expensive purchases.

As you'll be more than aware by this point, Palhinha was one step away from securing a move to Bayern in the summer before Bayern cancelled the transfer on deadline day after failing to source a replacement.

The midfielder has since signed a new deal at Craven Cottage, but several reports have made it clear that a move to Bayern could still be on the cards regardless and that was not seen as impediment.

That's because they're still on the hunt for a number six for manager Thomas Tuchel, who has made it clear that position needs strengthening at some point.

Palhinha is believed to be his preferred target and it was even claimed that Fulham were willing to accept a cheaper deal than the one they agreed to in the summer.

But it appears that may not be cheap enough as Bayern are assessing their options, and a move for the Fulham move "isn't really hot" at this moment in time.

"The search is still ongoing in the search for a number six, but Palhinha isn't really hot at the moment either," he said amid a discussion on Manchester United's Casemiro.

"Bayern want to find cheap solutions in the winter and are looking. Distribution still has priority."

Bayern seek 'cheap options' in January
The prospect of Bayern Munich rekindling their interest in Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha in January appears more remote after the German press claimed that they are seeking 'cheap options' to sign in the new year.

Palhinha was close to joining the Bundesliga giants in September but the deal was not completed before the German transfer deadline and the 28 year-old has since signed a new contract at Craven Cottage that will run until at least 2028. Fulham have rubbished reports that they would be willing to accept a smaller fee than the one they agreed in the summer – and Bayern are reportedly seeking younger and cheaper alternatives for when the transfer window reopens.

Journalist Christian Falk revealed today:

"The search is still ongoing in the search for a number six, but Palhinha isn't really hot at the moment either. Bayern want to find cheap solutions in the winter and are looking. Distribution still has priority."

Paul Merson now predicts who will win this weekend between Liverpool and Fulham
Paul Merson has now given his prediction ahead of Liverpool's fixture against Fulham this weekend in the Premier League.

The Reds will want to return to winning ways after drawing with Manchester City last Saturday, with Liverpool just two points off Arsenal at the top of the table.

With the likes of Alisson Becker now out injured, it could be a hard test for Liverpool on Sunday, however, Merson has now said the Reds should beat Fulham with ease on Merseyside via Sports Keeda.

Merson said when asked to give his prediction for Liverpool's Premier League clash against Fulham this weekend: "I don't see anything but a Liverpool win here.

"It was a great result for them last weekend against City. To go behind and then come back to draw the game towards the end against the reigning champions could provide a massive boost to their morale.

"I see Liverpool winning this very comfortably. The Cottagers are not going to enjoy much luck against the Reds at Anfield."

Liverpool should be steamrolling past Fulham this weekend
Liverpool are back to their best when it comes to playing at home this season, with the Reds winning every Premier League game at Anfield this campaign, conceding just two goals.

And this weekend against Fulham should see Jurgen Klopp's side maintain that winning record, with the Cottagers having an underwhelming season compared to last year's results.

Whilst Liverpool will have some key players out injured, it shouldn't be enough to stop the Reds from getting all three points against Fulham as well as another clean sheet.

Indeed, Liverpool are firmly in the hunt for the Premier League title, and a win this weekend coupled with some favourable results could put the Anfield side back on top of the standings.

Fulham Transfer Rumour Round-Up: Gimenez, Andre, Werner

Trust us, there's plenty to dig into. The Khans have sent scouts far and wide in search of recruits, we expect there's money to burn so without further ado, here's all the tabloids have splurged until now, compiled by Cam.

'Tis the season where everything's gaining on us. Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, our waistbands, but most importantly, the January transfer window. Silly season with leftover port and cheese, basically. Months have passed us by since the summer, and don't we know it, and in that period the tabloids haven't ceased to drum up intrigue where could-be purchases are concerned and that's where this gargantuan article comes into view. Let the madness begin!

Santiago Gimenez – Feyenoord

On fire for Feyenoord, Santiago Gimenez is one of the continent's hottest strikers and a report circulated by W Deportes states that Fulham have tabled a massive €50m bid for the Mexico international. This may seem steep, but his form in both the Eredivisie and the Champions League has been exceptional and as we're short of an out-and-out goal getter, the 22-year-old is worth every penny.

In 16 outings in all competitions, Gimenez has netted eighteen goals, and he's also provided three assists. He's an impactful figure in the final third, a shoot-on-sight specialist although it may be difficult to tempt him to the Cottage, seeing as his team are still in the running to progress to the Champions League knock-out stages. His compatriot and not quite namesake, Raul Jimenez, hasn't found his feet in black and white but he could be a vehicle, if negotiations were activated. Santiago will need a familiar face, and who better than a national treasure such as Raul, who is still idolised by all that support El Tri.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – Leicester City

Leicester City are odds on to win the Championship title come May, they're top of the tree by three points, extremely tough to break down and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – who is allegedly being tailed by Fulham, as per port talkSPORT – is a key factor behind the Foxes' shake-up under Enzo Maresca.

Dewsbury-Hall has been influential for Leicester, with five goals and six assists in seventeen run-outs, the 25-year-old graduate of the club's youth academy has also garnered interest from Liverpool as well as the Whites and Maresca is smitten with the central midfielder's game-changing application to date. Speaking to Sky Sports, Maresca purred: "He's calm, fantastic with the ball, he knows when to attack and what to give the team.

"He is so dangerous near the box, and has the quality to score or assist from anywhere. He could already have had 10 or 12 assists.

"He is probably the most-improved for us and he's in the perfect position."

Armando Broja – Chelsea

Having recently returned to action from an ACL rupture, and scoring on his first game back against us at the Cottage in October, Chelsea – via Evening Standard – will allegedly rebuff any outside offers for Armando Broja, amid reports that Fulham are wanting to add him to their misfiring offensive department.

The 22-year-old is more or less a carbon copy of Aleksandar Mitrovic, with extra pace, but it's become apparent that Mauricio Pochettino will not entertain any talk of the Albania international's departure from Stamford Bridge and by all accounts, Broja doesn't want to bid farewell either, even on loan. Well, that's that settled, then.

Victor Nelsson – Galatasaray

Rated highly by Galatasaray, Victor Nelsson could be on the market for an exceedingly low figure once January rolls around and Turkish outlet Takvim have earmarked Fulham as a prime contender for the Danish centre-half's signature. A sum of £13m has been endorsed and whispers of a potential exit from the Super Lig champions were amplified by Gala's deputy chairman Erdem Timur.

"His current idea is not to extend the contract. However, he has a contract for two more years." Timor told Fanatik. Nelsson safeguarded Galatasaray to a famous victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Champions League earlier this year, the 25-year-old's a studied defender and is also a mainstay at the heart of Okan Buruk's defence but if his sights are set on the Premier League, Fulham have to be in the swim.

Geny Catamo – Sporting CP

Renowned Portuguese publication O Jogo have claimed that Fulham are tracking Sporting CP winger Geny Catamo, who has also been linked with Aston Villa. The 22-year-old Mozambique international is currently injured and his return to the turf is yet to be forecast, however his form before being sidelined is why the Whites are supposedly in the running.

Although Catamo is a Sporting player, his former club Amora FC still hold a 75% share in the player, meaning Leoes will only recoup 25% of any potential sale. For Sporting to own the player outright, thus gaining proceeds in full, it's thought Amora will accept a figure in the €3m region, however it's believed they will not dictate the player's future if he is expected to depart in the coming weeks, fitness permitting.

Chuba Akpom – Ajax

Despite only joining Ajax last summer from Middlesbrough, TEAMtalk revealed that Chuba Akpom could be set for a return to England on loan in January, with Fulham and Crystal Palace being the main potential suitors for the 2022/23 Championship Player of the Year.

The 28-year-old striker is contracted to the struggling Dutch giants until 2028 and across 13 Eredivisie outings so far this term, the Arsenal academy product has struck 5 goals. Other interested Premier League outfits include Everton, Burnley, Luton Town and Sheffield United, so other than the Whites and the Eagles, there's still plenty of options for Akpom to choose from if he's granted permission to leave the Johan Cruyff Arena on a short-term basis.

Lewis Ferguson – Bologna

Well-known Italian outlet Tuttosport have broadcast that Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Juventus are all monitoring Bologna's Scottish midfielder Lewis Ferguson. Ferguson is a trusted member of Thiago Motta's squad and in 13 Serie A games, he's registered three goals and three assists, an admirable contribution for a player that's really come to prominence in the past two years.

Bologna are currently in a decent position domestically, with European football being a primary objective and with that, it may be difficult to prise him away from the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara. Having said that, while Ferguson, 24, is under contract until 2027 however a figure of £13m could be enough to persuade I Rossoblu to part ways with one of their key components mid-season.

Serhou Guirassy – VfB Stuttgart

A prolific hitman with a 16-goal haul in the Bundesliga for Stuttgart, Sehrou Guirassy is a striker that has the footballing world salivating and according to Fabrizio Romano, Fulham are one of a number of clubs that are circling for the deadly Guinea international. Guirassy has a shallow €17.5m release clause within his contract at the German side, only Bayern Munich's Harry Kane has found the back of the net more times than he but if Fulham are to convince him to join, they will have to fend off some of the wealthiest sides in Europe, including Newcastle United.

It isn't pretty reading for Fulham fans, though, as the head of football at BILD, Christian Falk, recently revealed in a column for CaughtOffside: "Serhou Guirassy is already aware that he can make a move in January as he has a release clause of €17.5m that can be activated at this time,

"VFB Stuttgart is still fighting for him, but it's not a lot of money! Not much for the Premier League certainly.

"In the summer, we already mentioned about his opportunity to go to the UK amid interest from Fulham but he didn't, as he wanted a better opportunity. I'm not sure Fulham is the right club.

"Newcastle United are on the table and might be a more attractive option as a Champions League club."

Andre – Fluminense

We simply have to get this done. As stated by Brazilian outlet UOL, Fulham are apparently front-runners in the race for Fluminense midfielder Andre who, by all accounts, it's bloody Bisto. Liverpool and Arsenal have also been mentioned in the chasing pack, however the 22-year-old linchpin is allegedly leaning towards a January move to SW6, amid Joao Palhinha's ongoing transfer saga concerning Bayern Munich.

Andre's arrival doesn't hinge on Palhinha's departure, though. It's imagined that both can play alongside one another, I won't pretend to know much about the Brazil international, because I don't, but what I've heard and read of him is extremely positive to say the least and his performances gather rave reviews.

Alistair Mackintosh and his scouting entourage recently travelled to South America to take in Fluminense's Copa Libertadores Final triumph over Argentine giants Boca Juniors and Andre was a stand-out participant. His deal runs dry at the end of 2026 and Fluminense want around £30m for the newly-capped Seleção man. Fire up the online banking app, Tony.

Tammy Abraham – AS Roma

Tammy Abraham is expected to be out of action until March 2024 however Calciomercato have suggested that West Ham United, Aston Villa, Brentford and Fulham are keeping close tabs on the AS Roma striker's rehabilitation. Abraham was purchased by the Rome-based outfit two years ago for an estimated £34m, however he sustained an ACL injury at the back end of the 2022/23 campaign.

The 26-year-old has found the back of the net 36 times in 107 appearances for Jose Mourinho's Gialorossi, and while he still has unfinished business to attend to upon his return, jumping back to English shores presumably wouldn't be entirely off the agenda for the England international, capped eleven times by the Three Lions. The former Chelsea striker laid claim to the Champions League trophy at the closing of the 2020/21 season and during a season-long loan spell at Villa, he dispatched 26 goals.

Samuel Illing-Junior – Juventus

This is a youngster you may remember from one of our summer transfer editions. TEAMtalk report that Juventus winger Samuel Illing-Junior is apparently back on Fulham's winter wish list, although it's also thought that several English top-flight clubs sides are closing in on the 20-year-old assist king.

As well as the Whites, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Villa have also supposedly expressed interest in the England U21 representative but despite his budding reputation, he has only made four appearances for Juve off the bench this season, which isn't ideal for his growth. He was an MVP within the Bianconeri's youth set-up, with 14 goals and 15 assists in 58 games, Illing-Junior's call-up to the senior fold was warranted but his career in Turin hasn't ignited as expected.

Jonas Wind – VfL Wolfsburg

An London Evening Standard article has revealed that Fulham are interested in acquiring Wolfsburg attacker Jonas Wind once the winter transfer period arrives. The 24-year-old is a livewire for the Bundesliga club up top and his record in the league is outstanding. He's bulged the net nine times in twelve outings, and he's also plated up 2 assists, too.

He's capable of playing out wide but he's really come to life as a focal point in the final third. The Denmark international is hitting all the right notes for his nation as well, as he's registered six goal contributions in his last eight caps. Given his importance to Wolfsburg, though, the Whites will need to cough up a premium if they're to woo Wind from the Volkswagen Arena but if we've money to burn, I say we test Die Wölfe's resolve.

Timo Werner – Red Bull Leipzig

We're likely to target other striking options but a 90min report has implied that Fulham, West Ham and Crystal Palace are eyeing Red Bull Leipzig's Timo Werner, formerly of Chelsea, of course. The 27-year-old was more of a liability for the Blues, a misfiring hindrance culprit to spurning multiple opportunities but he soon regained his confidence once he re-joined RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022.

He has two goals and an assist in 13 appearances this season, which isn't exactly a return to write home about, but I am not completely against the prospect of signing him, even on loan, because he's still arguably better than the fodder we have at our disposal anyway. If I had a choice, though, I'd put Werner on the back burner because we've stronger alternatives to explore first.

Alan Virginius – Lille OSC

French outlet Foot Mercato are under the impression that Fulham are lining up a January swoop for Lille attacker Alan Virginus. The 20-year-old joined Les Dogues in 2022 from Sochaux and his contract runs until 2027.

He's far from being the first name on Paulo Foncesca's team sheet, though. The France U20 player has only featured six times for he Ligue 1 outfit this season in all competitions, however the report indicates that Marco Silva 'particularly appreciates' the winger's skill set. I don't call the shots, but it's a hard nope from me on this one.

Antonio Nusa – Club Brugge KV

It's common knowledge but Spanish publication Fichajes believe that Fulham are on the hunt for offensive reinforcements in January, and Club Brugge's €30m-rated starlet Antonio Nusa is on the shortlist. Nusa's one to watch, he's a teenager that's impressed and improved massively since leaving Stabæk for the Belgian club in 2021 but his asking price could be a major put-off for the Whites.

It's said that Fulham will seek to reduce the fee if they're to enter talks with Blauw-Zwart, however they're not the only team in SW6 that are pursuing the Norway international attacker. Yes, it's said Chelsea are also on the prowl and they're definitely primed to splash the cash if needs be. Taking a punt on Nusa isn't too risky, mind. He's scored two and provided three for his side so far this term, but I'd agree that if we could knock Brugge's down by five to ten million quid, we'd be pretty silly if we didn't invest in a future star that could be a serious danger in the Premier League today.

Pedro – Flamengo

Respected journalist Jorge Nicola has disclosed that Fulham are preparing a substantial January bid for Flamengo's prolific striker Pedro. Nicola says a "very influential" source has informed him that the Whites will seek to capture the 26-year-old in the coming weeks, and that is evidently irrespective of the Brazil international's £52m release clause.

Pedro is the Brazilian Serie A's top ranking hitman. In 57 games across all available competitions, he slammed home 33 goals and in 212 appearances overall, he has 100 goals to his credit. Staggering. Pedro signed for Flamengo in January 2021 from Fiorentina, his presence in the final third is spine shuddering and if we're to prise him from his employers, we'll have to comply and cooperate. We have to land this guy. I've heard people mutter that we cannot sign strikers from Brazil, not decent ones, anyway, but Pedro is honestly the real deal and he is the closest we'll get to bridging the gap that was left by Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Fulham's Joao Palhinha addresses failed Bayern Munich move
Fulham midfield Joao Palhinha has admitted he is unsure if a move to Bayern Munich will happen in the future.

Palhinha, who joined the Cottagers in 2022, was on the verge of joining the German champions on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Although Palhinha made the trip to Germany with a view to completing a move, the deal ultimately collapsed and he subsequently returned to West London.

The 28-year-old subsequently put pen to paper on a new long-term deal, extending his contract with Fulham until June 2028 with an option for the club to extend by a further year.

Despite agreeing a new deal with the club, Palhinha continues to be linked with a transfer to Bayern ahead of the January transfer window.

With uncertainty surrounding his future, he has now addressed the failed deadline-day move and admitted he is unsure whether a transfer to Bayern will come to fruition.

"I feel I'm content because I'm playing. I'm playing, I'm doing my job, I'm focused here," Palhinha told the Fulham Fix podcast.

"I had the opportunity a couple of months ago when this happened, it's something that nobody can point the finger to me and say that you don't respect, it never happened because I always did my work here.

"I respect everyone, the staff, my teammates, my history with the club because I don't want to screw up what I've built here. They've given me a lot of effort.

"Of Course, I don't want to screw it up. But I can't lie, of course, it's the opportunity of my life that happened. For me, if something like Bayern happens in your life, you can't think of anything else.

"In football, we are always fighting to achieve. For me, I grew up to dream of these kind of opportunities. I don't know if it's going to happen again or not.

"I just want to make my job like I've been doing, keep improving because I know I have much more to improve and what needs to happen, it's going to happen.

"I don't like to think about the past because life has showed me that everything in my life has happened for some reason."

Palhinha has featured regularly for the Cottagers this season, appearing in 10 of the club's 13 Premier League matches.

The Portuguese midfielder is expected to be involved when Fulham make the trip to Anfield for Sunday's tricky fixture. against Liverpool.

David Ornstein not expecting Tottenham or Fulham to sign £40m striker in January
Santiago Gimenez has been linked with both Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham but The Athletic reporter David Ornstein is not expecting to see the Feyenoord striker touch down in the Premier League in January.

It's hard enough convincing a club to part with their star striker in the middle of a season.

Feyenoord, however, have an Eredivisie title to defend amid competition from AZ Alkmaar and a so-far-faultless PSV Eindhoven. Arne Slot's reigning Dutch champions have European ambitions too.

So even if Fulham or Tottenham Hotspur planned to step up their interest in Santiago Gimenez over the coming weeks, one of the most reliable reporters in the business is not expecting to see the Premier League become home to the Feyenoord's Mexican marksman before June 'at the earliest'.

Tottenham 'closest' to signing Santiago Gimenez
"Gimenez definitely feels like one we need to keep a close eye on generally," Ornstein tells The Athletic. "But he is not someone I've heard as a serious candidate for English teams in the January window.

"I suspect that is mainly due to Feyenoord having him under contract until 2027 and needing to keep him for now.

"As always, never say never. But, right now, it feels like a move would happen next summer at the earliest."

An instinctive finisher who presses as well as he shoots, Gimenez has scored nearly as many goals this season as he did during the whole of 2022/23. In all competitions, the former Cruz Azul poacher has found the net 18 times in just 17 games.

Fulham's new Mitrovic?
Fulham, per reports in Mexico, see Gimenez as a potential replacement for the dearly departed Aleksandr Mitrovic. But it's Tottenham Hotspur who appear to be the 'closest' of any Premier League side at present, one member of Gimenez's camp telling Tuttomercatoweb that Spurs are leading the likes of Inter Milan, Lazio and Napoli in pursuit of the £40 million-rated centre-forward.

Journalist reveals Tottenham "closest" to signing in-demand striker
While Santiago Gimenez has drawn interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham, The Athletic's David Ornstein doesn't foresee the Feyenoord striker making a move to the Premier League in January.

Convincing a club to let go of their key striker mid-season poses significant challenges, especially when Feyenoord are focused on defending their Eredivisie title, facing competition from AZ Alkmaar and an undefeated PSV Eindhoven.

With European ambitions, even if Fulham or Tottenham Hotspur intensify their pursuit of Santiago Gimenez in the coming weeks, reliable reporter David Ornstein doesn't anticipate the Feyenoord striker joining the Premier League before June, "at the earliest."

Fulham, as reported in Mexico, considers Gimenez a potential replacement for the departed Aleksandr Mitrovic. However, Tottenham Hotspur seems to be the "closest" among any Premier League side at present.

"Gimenez definitely feels like one we need to keep a close eye on generally," Ornstein tells The Athletic. "But he is not someone I've heard as a serious candidate for English teams in the January window."

The Mexican forward has scored a remarkable 16 goals in 13 Eredivisie games this season, while he's also registered two goals in three starts in the Champions League. The 22-year-old is one of the hottest young strikers in Europe currently.

Fulham identify Andre as Joao Palhinha replacement?
Fulham are reportedly interested in signing Fluminense midfielder Andre.

The Cottagers are looking to sign a new defensive midfielder, with uncertainty surrounding the future of Joao Palhinha.

The Portugual international was on the verge of completing a summer move to Bayern Munich before the deal fell through on the final day of the window.

Although Palhinha has subsequently signed a new contract extension until 2028, he continues to be linked with a transfer to the German champions.

The 28-year-old has admitted he is unsure what the future holds, raising the possibility he could leave the club in the January transfer window.

With Fulham bracing themselves for Palhinha's departure, they are already working on plans to secure his replacement.

According to Sky Sports News, the West London club are looking to agree a deal to sign Fluminense's Andre in the new year.

The report claims that Fulham chief executive Alistair Mackinstosh recently flew out to Brazil to hold talks over a potential deal.

Liverpool were believed to be considering a move for Andre, but their interest appears to have cooled off in recent weeks.

However, Fulham could still face Premier League competition, as Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with the Brazilian's signature.

Andre has made 58 competitive appearances for Fluminense in 2023, helping the club win the Copa Libertadores for the first time in their history.

Despite being under contract until December 2026, the Brazil international is widely expected to complete a transfer to Europe in January.

Fluminense still have two games to play in their domestic season, before they travel to Saudi Arabia for the 2023 Club World Cup.

Fulham, meanwhile, are also scouring the market for further reinforcements with the Cottagers keen to bring in a new centre-back and a striker.
