Newcastle United 'huge blow' confirmed as key player ruled out & trio at risk of Premier League ban
Kieran Trippier will miss Newcastle United's upcoming Premier League match against Fulham.

Newcastle United have been dealt a suspension blow with Kieran Trippier ruled out for the next Premier League match against Fulham.

Trippier was shown his fifth yellow card of the league season in the 4-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur. Any player shown five bookings in the opening 19 league matches is banned for one match.

The right-back is the third Newcastle player to pick up such a suspension this season after Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes. Sean Longstaff, Joelinton and Jamaal Lascelles are all one booking away from a ban.

Reflecting on Trippier's suspension, Howe told The Gazette: "It's a huge blow for us, Kieran is a standard for us really to get a level of consistent performance. We'll miss his quality.

"When he's part of your biggest attacking threat every week yeah he's a very difficult one to miss out. Even today he had his moments when he put in some really good crosses, particularly in the second half.

"He's just an outstanding technician and we will certainly miss him against Fulham."

The Fulham match will be Trippier's first time out of United's starting line-up in the Premier League since the start of last season. On the booking front, Fabian Schar, Dan Burn and Sandro Tonali have two bookings though only Schar is currently available for selection and would have to be booked in all three of Newcastle's final league matches before the end of the year in order to be suspended.

Miguel Almiron, Harvey Barnes, Sven Botman, Tino Livramento, Matt Ritchie, Matt Targett and Callum Wilson all have one Premier League booking each.

Report: Spurs are leading Fulham and Brentford in race for exciting winger
Tottenham Hotspur are not the only club looking to sign Samuel Iling-Junior from Juventus, with Brentford and Fulham also keen. However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy can use his existing relationship with the player's agent to his advantage.

Over the last few weeks, it has emerged that Tottenham are interested in taking Samuel Iling-Junior off Juventus' hands, with the England Under-21 international struggling for game time in Italy (TuttoMercatoWeb).

Apparently, the youngster could be signed for as little as £15.5m, as the Turin side are keen to offload players in January to fund their transfer aspirations (CalcioMercato).

It is thought the player himself is ready to move on, too (TuttoMercatoWeb). The 20-year-old left London back in 2020 when he swapped Chelsea for Juventus, but could be heading back to his roots very soon.

Tottenham can win the race for Iling-Junior
According to a recent report from the Evening Standard, it is Spurs who are leading the race to sign Iling-Junior.

Now, the latest from TuttoSport has the same idea, with the reason being that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has done business with Frank Trimboli, Iling-Junior's agent, previously.

The report claims Spurs are joined by Fulham, Brentford, and Marseille in the pursuit of the young winger, but that it is the Lilywhites who hold the advantage.

Apparently, Trimboli has been the "go-to representative" for Levy in the past, and that working relationship could bear fruit once more. However, it is thought that both Fulham and Brentford have already laid some groundwork to sound out a deal.

Spurs Web Opinion
I'm yet to be convinced on this one. I just don't think Iling-Junior is the kind of player who can have the desired impact, at least not right away, and we would be better off signing a proven player to come in and add some spark to our attack.

Ryan Sessegnon and Alex Iwobi loved 32-year-old Fulham player's display vs West Ham
Fulham club captain Tom Cairney once again starred for the club on a landmark occasion for the Whites against West Ham United.

Cairney took to social media to celebrate a second Premier League 5-0 win on the bounce at Craven Cottage.

After being treated to a spectacle against Steve Cooper's Nottingham Forest side on Wednesday, Fulham repeated the feat yesterday.

West Ham turned up off the back of a 2-1 win over London rivals Tottenham but looked off the pace for much of the game.

Raul Jimenez opened the scoring after a phenomenal pass from Joao Palhinha and the Hammers never looked like getting back into the game from there.

Willian and Tosin Adarabioyo extended Fulham's lead before half-time and the Brazilian was withdrawn at the break after looking uncomfortable at the end of the first 45.

He was replaced by Harry Wilson who scored the goal of the game, curling the ball over the outstretched Lukasz Fabianski, before setting up Carlos Vinicius for a tap-in to complete the rout.

Although Cairney wasn't on the score sheet against West Ham, he still ran the show from midfield.

Marco Silva was very complimentary about the 32-year-old after the match and having spent much of last season as a super sub, he looks irreplaceable in the starting line-up right now.

Cairney stars again against West Ham
It was the silky playmaker's 300th Fulham appearance yesterday and he took to Instagram to celebrate both a personal accolade and a fantastic win for the team.

He said: "300. Always an honour putting on the shirt and I'll never take it for granted!! But we ain't done yet."

Cairney's teammates past and present wanted to congratulate the midfielder, with Willian calling him a 'Player', while Alex Iwobi suggested his new captain is a 'Legend!'.

Even Ryan Sessegnon wanted to send a message to his old skipper and he loved that Cairney had reached 300 games for his previous club.

Cairney showed against West Ham why he still has such a crucial role to play for Fulham this season.

Joao Palhinha is extremely good at winning back possession while Andreas Pereira is rediscovering his best form in the final third.

However, Cairney establishes a level of control with his magic left foot that few other players can do in the Premier League.

He dictates tempo, spots a pass before the ball has even reached him and gets the best out of Willian and Antonee Robinson on the left flank.

Fulham have a full week to prepare for Newcastle before the busy Christmas period begins.

Cairney has shown Marco Silva that he's fit enough to play a key role in back-to-back games and right now it would be mad to drop him out of the starting line-up.
