Fulham 5-0 West Ham United

Fulham have won three consecutive Premier League home games for the first time since 2012

Raul Jimenez continued his return to form with another goal as Fulham thrashed lacklustre West Ham to record their second five-goal victory in five days at Craven Cottage.

The Mexico forward, who sustained a life-threatening skull fracture three years ago, gave the hosts the lead when he headed in Joao Palhinha's cross for his fourth goal in five league games.

Marco Silva's side were in total control by half-time after Willian added a second from Andreas Pereira's cut-back and Tosin Adarabioyo out-jumped Kurt Zouma at a corner to head in the hosts' third.

Substitute Harry Wilson was denied by Lukasz Fabianski as a dominant Fulham pressed on - but the West Ham goalkeeper stood no chance of denying the Wales international when he curled a stunning left-footed shot into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Carlos Vinicius then sealed Fulham's second 5-0 win of the week, following Wednesday's demolition of Nottingham Forest, after Wilson unselfishly teed him up when through on goal.

The thoroughly-deserved victory lifted Fulham into the top half of the table, three points behind ninth-placed West Ham who missed the chance to climb into the Premier League's top six.

"It was a brilliant performance from us. The players understood the plan and executed it so well. It was almost a perfect afternoon for us," said Silva.

"Confidence builds confidence and the best example of this is Raul [Jimenez]," the Fulham manager added. "We are not really different now, we changed and adjusted some things but the faith in our players was always there."

Jimenez and Fulham hit their stride
Jimenez has struggled to rediscover his former level since he suffered that potentially career-ending head injury playing for Wolves against Arsenal in November 2020.

But the goals are beginning to flow for the 32-year-old again - as they are for a Fulham side whose shortcomings in attack appeared a major concern only a matter of weeks ago.

Jimenez's current run of four goals in five Premier League games is as many as he managed in his previous 49 appearances in the competition.

But, having scored twice in a Premier League game for the first time since January 2020 in the midweek thrashing of Forest, he has now scored in consecutive appearances for the first time since October 2020.

And, crucially for Fulham, the club's £5m summer signing is beginning to demonstrate he is capable of filling the void left by talisman Aleksandar Mitrovic's departure.

The Mexican's thumping header after 22 minutes ignited Fulham, who had been second best in the opening stages - though James Ward-Prowse's superbly hit free-kick from more than 30 yards out was Bernd Leno's only save of note.

West Ham, desperately lacking energy and ideas, were subsequently blown away in the space of 18 minutes as Fulham treated their fans to another excellent home performance.

A half-time substitute after the lively Willian picked up an injury which Silva will hope is not serious, Wilson hit the best goal of Fulham's five-star showing before collecting Harrison Reed's ball over the top and allowing Vinicius to slot in from close range.

The Cottagers scored just 10 goals in their opening 12 league games of the season. They now have 15 in their past four and, after a slow start, are looking up the table.

Meanwhile, this was a day to quickly forget for West Ham and David Moyes - just three days after the Hammers boss described his side's comeback win over Tottenham as "one of the biggest wins" of his career.

A win could have moved the visitors level with fifth-placed Tottenham, but with that opportunity missed they must now dust themselves down as they seek to clinch top spot in their Europa League group when they host Freiburg on Thursday night.

"Probably the Tottenham game played a big part in today. Mentally and physically we found it tough," Moyes said.

"We used up too much energy in midweek and we weren't able to get ourselves back. [But there is] no excuse for the result," he added.

Marco's Post-West Ham Press Conference
Marco Silva spoke to the press following his side's second 5-0 home win in a week.

"Brilliant performance from us," he started. "Very, very good level.

"We were the best team on the pitch, not just because we won five nil but the way we performed from the first minute.

"The players understood the plan and they it executed really well.

"The way we did it, it was almost a perfect afternoon for us.

"Of course, the last 25 minutes, we just tried to control the game on the ball. We lost some balls that gave them the chance for some counter-attacks.

"Apart from that we didn't give almost nothing for them. We did control well and it's not easy to control a team like West Ham with the quality they have."

It was the second time that Marco's side secured an impressive 5-0 win at home in the Premier League and when asked whether he thought it was a better performance than against Forest, he said:

"No doubt about it because against Forest, we didn't start the game the way we wanted.

"The only thing that I really didn't enjoy that game was our first 15 minutes .

"On Wednesday, everyone was saying that okay, 'it was against Forest, they are really bad, all that stuff.

"In the Premier League, it doesn't exist and then they showed that yesterday when they got a good result away from home.

"This afternoon was against the team that just came from winning the derby away from home against Tottenham, the way they are doing so well in the Europa Conference.

"Credits for the players the way they did it. The way they enjoy, and they embrace the challenge."

Outside criticism of Fulham has been their lack of goals this season, which we have responded to by scoring 16 goals in our last four games, leading to Marco being asked about what has changed for his side to become so free-scoring.

"We are not doing nothing really different," he said. "Of course we change some things.

"The trust in our players was always there, the processes is not something new .

"I was trying to improve things and to add things for our way to play and we did it really well in the last two games.

"We are growing as a team. I felt that every single day and we are proving this on the pitch on the match day and this the most important thing."

Fulham top unique goalscoring chart as Marco Silva's side thrash West Ham
Fulham's goal glut against West Ham United has cemented their reputation as one of the Premier League's most prolific sides.

The Whites romped to a 3-0 lead over David Moyes' side at Craven Cottage, with Raul Jiminez, Willian and Cenk Tosun giving them a comfortable lead at half-time.

Willian has now scored his last eight Premier League goals at Craven Cottage, with only Bobby Zamora having a longer run of goals coming at home for Fulham in the competition.

Things got even better for Fulham after half-time with Harry Wilson making it 4-0.

Carlos Vinicius then made it 5-0 late on to pile on the misery for the Hammers.

Those goals have also put Fulham at the top of a special table, with the club now the highest scorers in the Premier League since the start of November, with 17.

Marco Silva's side also made it four top flight matches in a row that they've scored more than three goals – the first time that they've managed it since October 1961.

Fulham were tipped to struggle in front of goal following the decision to sell Aleksandar Mitrovic Al-Hilal over the summer.

But in truth Silva's side are quickly becoming one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the Premier League.

Fulham 5-0 West Ham

Fulham rounded off a perfect six-point week in style on Sunday afternoon putting five past West Ham without reply.

Raúl got things going with another goal before Willian and Tosin supplemented the lead before half time. Harry Wilson then scored a screamer to make it four, before his squared ball across allowed Carlos Vinicius to make sure Fuham won 5-0 for the second time in five days.

Marco Silva named a first unchanged XI of the season for the visit of the Hammers. The only difference to the squad came on the bench, where Rodrigo Muniz was back in the mix after a short spell out with injury.

The game started quietly with neither team offering much in the way of chances, until James Ward-Prowse stung the hands of Bernd Leno with a trademark free-kick from 30 yards six minutes in.

Jarrod Bowen had a snapshot at goal moments later as he cut inside from the right, but Leno was down smartly to gather.

Alex Iwobi had confidence flowing through his veins following his first Premier League brace last time out, but his effort from distance wasn't on target this time as Fulham started to push.

Our best opportunity of the game so far came next, as a neat one-two between Willian and Raúl allowed the former to get in behind enemy lines and shoot, but he couldn't quite get a clean connection on his shot and Lukasz Fabianski collected as a result.

Fulham broke the deadlock after 22 minutes and it was brilliant. João Palhinha was heavily involved to initially win the ball back with a typically industrious challenge in his own half. After a bit more link up further forward, our Portuguese maestro then whipped a delicious cross onto the head of Raúl, who used the pace to guide it perfectly into the back of the net.

After a feast of goals on Wednesday night it seemed Fulham were still hungry for more, and added a second of the day next. Andreas Pereira did well to recycle the ball when Iwobi's effort was parried, and his cross took a nick off our Nigerian attacker before finding Willian at the back post, who make it look easy to place his shot into the bottom corner.

Bowen had a go with just over five minutes of the first half remaining and would've been disappointed by his standards after getting on the end of Vladimir Coufal's cross on the six-yard box.

Tosin was in on the act next to make it three goals to the good before the break. An Andreas corner was pinpoint to find our big centre-back's head, and he did the rest to soar highest and nod in as Fulham continued to blow the Hammers away.

We were forced into a change for the second half as Wilson replaced Willian who had taken a knock just before the interval.

Our Welsh wizard almost added a fourth to proceedings as Fulham picked up from where they left off. A smart swivel got him away from his marker in the box, but he couldn't find the finish required at the vital moment.

This didn't stop him scoring an absolute worldie moments later though. A cut inside from the right bought him a yard before he curled his shot perfectly into the top corner from outside the box.

Bowen had another sighter against the run of play after the ball fell kindly from a looped pass into the box, but Leno was calmness personified and matched him yet again.

Vinicius made it five for the second time in a week with a couple of minutes left on the clock. A delightful ball over the top was matched by the timing of the run by Wilson, who unselfishly squared it for our Brazilian striker to tap home.

A week to remember for Fulham.

Fulham 5-0 West Ham: That's entertainment! Hosts make it TEN goals in a week as leaky Hammers get sinking feeling at Craven Cottage

Fulham have moved into the top half of the table after victory over West Ham
Cottagers were three goals up in first half and added another two after the break

There was an almighty boom when the boat full of West Ham fans taking the scenic route to Craven Cottage accidentally crashed into Hammersmith Bridge before kick-off.

Thankfully, the Grade II-listed structure was sturdy enough to withstand the blow.

The same could not be said for West Ham's defence. There was no steel to be seen here. Only a mangled attempt at securing their first Premier League away clean sheet of the season as Fulham showed why they are one of England's most entertaining teams to watch right now.

Fulham games practically come with a guarantee of goals. There was the 3-2 win over Wolves, the 4-3 loss at Liverpool, the 5-0 humiliation of Nottingham Forest. Now this, a trouncing of West Ham to sum up the confidence that is coursing through Marco Silva's side.

There were goals from Willian, Tosin Adarabioyo, Harry Wilson and Carlos Vinicius, but it is particularly good to see Raul Jimenez scoring again. He has four in his last five Premier League games, that life-threatening skull fracture in 2020 having previously limited his powers.

Fulham thrashed London rivals West Ham 5-0 to move up to 10th in the Premier League table

Raul Jimenez continued his bright form to head the Cottagers into the lead 22 minutes in

Brazilian Willian side-footed the ball home from a cross by Alex Iwobi nine minutes later

Jimenez and Co are fearing no one and Fulham, who were winless in their last 11 London derbies in the Premier League, leaped to 10th with this victory. They are looking up, not down.

West Ham remain ninth and by full time, 'Moyes out' was trending on social media. David Moyes will hope this was a one-off, given how his defence was depleted. Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola was injured, while left back Emerson and defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez were too ill to start. Yet the ease with which Fulham tore through the visitors was worrying in the extreme.

West Ham might have taken the lead after five minutes if not for Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno. When Joao Palhinha fouled Mohammed Kudus 35 yards from goal, you suspected it was too far to shoot, even for James Ward-Prowse. How wrong we were.

Ward-Prowse struck it true, hoping this was the one to equal David Beckham's record of 18 Premier League free-kicks, but Leno made a flying save. From then on, it was the Fulham show. Jimenez's delicate ball in behind found Willian in the 15th minute but Lukasz Fabianski made the save — one of the few he was able to make here.

Fulham took the lead in the 22nd minute when Palhinha produced a peach of a cross for Jimenez, positioned between Nayef Aguerd and Aaron Cresswell. Fabianski could only watch as the header flew by him for 1-0.

It was 2-0 after 31 minutes when Aguerd gave away possession while trying to play out from the back. Silva's men surged forward with Alex Iwobi's shot being pushed away by Fabianski. The ball came back into the box from Andreas Pereira. There was a swing and a miss from Iwobi, but not from Willian as he found the far corner.

In the 39th minute, West Ham had a chance to get back into the game and it fell to the man they trust most in front of goal. Jarrod Bowen had scored in his last seven Premier League appearances on the road. But his volley was too close to Leno.

In the 41st minute, it was 3-0. How simple it was. A corner from Pereira, a header from Adarabioyo, with weak marking from Kurt Zouma.

Not since 2012 had Fulham won three home Premier League games on the trot but it would take a collapse of Devon Loch proportions for them to throw this away.

Tosin Adarabioyo's powerful header took a deflection before finding the back of the net

Harry Wilson got his second goal in a week with a long-ranger curling shot into the top corner

Carlos Vinicius guided the ball into an empty after a layoff from Wilson to complete the win

Moyes replaced Pablo Fornals with Emerson and Cresswell with Konstantinos Mavropanos for the second half, most likely with damage limitation in mind. Fulham immediately went back to controlling the game and half-time substitute Wilson should have scored when he rolled Zouma but failed to beat Fabianski. That was the easy chance.

Then came the harder one, as Wilson scored a curler from 25 yards to make it 4-0 in the 60th minute. That was the cue for some away supporters to head home.

They missed Fulham completing this 5-0 rout as Wilson broke behind before unselfishly squaring for Vinicius to tap in. West Ham looked for an offside flag that would never come. 'Champions of Europe? You're having a laugh,' sang the home support.

After the high of that win over Tottenham came the low of this defeat. West Ham have work to do ahead of facing Freiburg in the Europa League on Thursday.

10 goals in a week beside the Thames for Fulham, who smash sorry West Ham 5-0 at the Cottage
Fulham 5 (Jimenez 22. Willian 31, Tosin 40, Wilson 60, Vinicius 88)

West Ham United 0

Att: 23,988

Fulham produced a near-perfect performance to win 5-0 at home for the second time in four days – this time against a dire West Ham side.

Goals from Raul Jiminez, Willian, Tosin, a beauty from substitute Harry Wilson and a tap-in from another sub, Carlos Vinicius, secured the Whites' latest rout.

The win moves Fulham up to 10th in the Premier League, just three points - and one place - behind the Hammers.

That's 10 goals beside the Thames for Fulham in the week. But this performance was, if anything, even more complete than the hammering of Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

The game's first shot on goal in fact came from West Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse, whose 25-yard free kick was well struck but Bernd Leno got a good view of it and punched it away.

Fulham took their time to grow into the game, but produced a fine move on 15 minutes. Jimenez's chipped ball was perfect for Willian, who found himself through on goal, but his touch let him down at the crucial moment.

And once the Whites took the lead there was only ever going to be one outcome. Joao Palhinha's pinpoint cross from the left was met by Jimenez, who powered his header past Lucasz Fabianski.

Fulham are full of confidence – Wednesday's win over Forest was their third at home in the league in four games.

And within eight minutes of the first, the home side were 2-0 up. Alex Iwobi's shot was palmed away by Fabianski, Andreas Pereira put it back into the danger zone, and although Iwobi missed his kick, the ball fell to Willian on the left of the penalty area, who curled a fine shot into the corner of the net to send the Cottage wild.

The Hammers' first real chance came six minutes before the break – and they should have halved the deficit. Tomas Soucek's cross found Jarrod Bowen all alone in the box, but he rather snatched at his shot, which was straight at the grateful Leno.

That was the crucial moment. For within a minute what could have been 2-1 was 3-0 and game over when Tosin rose highest to power a header towards goal. Soucek tried to stop it with his head but could only succeed in helping it on its away past Fabianski for 3-0.

Fulham were brilliant. They were first to every ball, and even when they did relinquish possession, it didn't take them long to win it back.

Andreas Pereira pulled the strings and was at the heart of most of Fulham's attacking play. Tom Cairney, playing his 300th game for the Whites, was quieter than he had been on Wednesday, but every bit as dependable.

The oles were out again from the fans – as they were on Wednesday - and the Whites picked up where they had left off at the start of the second half.

Wilson – on for the injured Willian at half-time – wiggled free of his defender but could only poke his shot straight at Fabianski.

But he didn't have to wait long to get on the scoresheet, receiving the ball to the right of the penalty area, switching the ball on to his left foot and curling an absolute corker into the top left-hand corner.

It was a beautiful goal in a beautiful performance from Fulham – and many Hammers fans were heading for the exit after just an hour. You could hardly blame them. Their team were just not up for the fight today, and completely outclassed all over the pitch.

In fact the moment which summed up their day was not long in coming. Said Benrahma mishit a shot so badly that it struck the front of the roof of the stand where the remaining Hammers fans stood.

David Moyes scratched his head – and probably wished he could have joined the ones who had already left for east London.

Carlos Vinicius rubbed their noses in it – tapping home Wilson's centre for 5-0 and the Hammers' nightmare was complete. Fulham are flying.

Superb Fulham hit five again as Hammers are blitzed

Fulham 5-0 West Ham
Fulham hit five for the second successive match, destroying West Ham in a one-sided derby at Craven Cottage.

After thrashing Nottingham Forest in midweek, the Whites continued their brilliant form.

First-half goals by Raul Jimenez, Willian and Tosin, plus a tremendous strike from Harry Wilson after the break and a late goal by Carlos Vinicius, illustrated the dominance from Marco Silva's side.

They broke the deadlock in terrific fashion after 22 minutes.

Jimenez rose to net a powerful header home from eight yards out from a precise, angled cross from the left by Joao Palhinha.

Willian doubled the hosts' lead in the 31st minute. The Brazilian, unmarked, stroked the ball into the corner of the net with West Ham failing to deal with, firstly, an Alex Iwobi shot, and then a low cross by Andreas Pereira.

The Whites punished David Moyes's side with a third goal five minutes from the interval.

From an inviting Pereira corner, Tosin rose to head powerfully into the net, via a slight deflection by Vladimir Coufal.

And when Tom Cairney found Wilson with a weighted pass, he curled the ball into the top left-hand corner of the net.

There was time for a fifth goal, two minutes from the end.

Harrison Reed's long ball beat the West Ham offside trap, for Wilson to assist substitute Vinicius for an easy finish.

Fulham: Leno, Tosin, Bassey, Robinson (Ballo-Toure 71), Castagne, Pereira, Willian (Wilson 46), Cairney, Palhinha (Reed 78), Iwobi, (De Cordova-Reid 78) Jimenez (Vinicius 71)

Fulham put in another five-star display to thump West Ham
Fulham hit five goals for the second time in a week as they thrashed West Ham at Craven Cottage to move into the top half of the Premier League.

The floodgates have certainly opened for the Whites in recent weeks, with David Moyes' men the latest side to be put to the sword as five different scorers struck in a fine 5-0 home win – just four days after Fulham beat Nottingham Forest by the same scoreline.

Raul Jimenez opened the scoring to take his personal tally to four in five games having previously not scored a Premier League goal since March 2022, when he was a Wolves player.

Willian and Tosin Adarabioyo goals then had the hosts coasting at the break before a fine effort from substitute Harry Wilson and late effort from Carlos Vinicius added the gloss.

Jimenez's upturn in form has dovetailed nicely with Fulham's as a whole – in their previous three outings heading into this London derby they had scored three to beat Wolves, three in a losing effort at Liverpool and five to down Forest in midweek.

A rasping free-kick from James Ward-Prowse had Bernd Leno diving across his goal to make an early save, but that would be as good as it got for West Ham.

It was Fulham who missed the first gilt-edged chance of the afternoon, Jimenez picking out Willian with a perfectly-weighted ball over the top of the West Ham defence only for the forward to shoot tamely at Lukasz Fabianski.

With the hosts enjoying more of the ball, they took the lead as Jimenez's fine run of form in front of goal continued as he crashed home a header from Joao Palhinha's cross to the back post.

The lead was doubled just after the half-hour as Willian curled home into the far corner after possession had been recycled following Fabianski's save from an Alex Iwobi strike.

Bowen passed up a decent opportunity to get West Ham on the board as he shot straight at Leno when picked out in space in front of goal.

The visitors were struggling at both ends as an Iwobi half-volley deflected off Aaron Cresswell to flash wide of the post only for Adarabioyo to rise high and steer the resulting corner past Fabianski to extend Fulham's advantage.

There could have been another before the interval but Fabianksi's outstretched leg prevented Iwobi's cross from reaching its target.

While Willian was forced off injured at half-time, replaced by Wilson, Moyes made two alterations to his West Ham side as he introduced Emerson and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Wilson should have scored 10 minutes after the restart as a slick move ended with the midfielder inside the box but unable to guide his effort beyond Fabianski.

He more than made amends as he hit the fourth goal on the hour, curling a superb 20-yard strike beyond the reach of Fabianski to send Craven Cottage into raptures.

Moyes made further changes, more likely to rest the weary legs of the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Kurt Zouma, and they did dominate possession in the latter part of the game but still managed to ship another late goal.

Harrison Reed, whose own goal settled the corresponding fixture in favour of the visitors last season, picked out Wilson with a raking pass forward and the Wales international showed an unselfish touch to square for Vinicius to complete the rout with a tap-in.

Fleet Women 2-3 Fulham
The Fleet started brightly, earning a corner in the opening stages. A whipped ball into the area was palmed away by the keeper, which the Fleet attempted the rebound but it forced a counter attack from the visitors. A low ball from the width of the pitch snuck through the Fleet defence and picked out Sasha Anderson who converted from 12 yards out.

Both sides settled into the match and with 20 minutes on the clock, the score remained 1-0 to Fulham. The Fleet piled the pressure on the visiting side with a second corner delivery but Fulham cleared their lines just before Millie Waud could gain connection with the ball.

Fulham found a second just before the half hour mark through Georgia Heasman in very similar fashion to the opponents opener as she slotted the ball home at the far post. The Fleet claimed a goal back moments later. With Fulham playing at the back, the Fleet piled the pressure on and Logan O'Shea performed a lunging tackle, making contact with the ball. Stratton made the low diving save but the ball crept through her gloves and into the back of the net.

Amelia Woodgate earned a chance minutes before half-time but her effort was just off target and the Fleet went into the break behind.

Fulham almost started the second-half perfectly when Ella Tagliavini hit a shot from inside the area but her shot was off target. Dan Carlton caught Stratton off her line and attempted to loop the ball into the net but the keeper tracked back and made the save.

Sasha Anderson pulled the trigger in the 55th minute to claim her second of the afternoon with a thunderous strike from 20 yards out leaving Roberts no chance of keeping the ball out of the net and Fulham restoring their two goal advantage.

Amelia Woodgate nearly pulled one back with a strong run to carry the ball forward but her resulting shot was inches wide. Fulham thought they had found a fourth when Becky Stormer found the back of net with a headed effort but her celebrations were cut short when the assistants flag was raised.

With 10 minutes on the clock, the Fleet searched for two late goals and one would come in the 90th minute. Amelia Woodgate found herself one on one with the Fulham keeper and the striker came out on top, slotting the ball home to give the Fleet a late lifeline. But it wouldn't be enough as Fulham held on and would take the three points with the Fleet's charge at the end being too late.

Fulham 5-0 West Ham: Free-scoring Cottagers run riot as Hammers suffer heaviest defeat under David Moyes
Raul Jimenez continus his return to form as Fulham record their second five-goal victory in five days

As omen's go, the sight of a boat full of West Ham supporters crashing into Hammersmith Bridge on its way up the Thames was probably not a brilliant one for David Moyes's side.

So it proved, as suddenly free-scoring Fulham once again ran riot at Craven Cottage to claim their second 5-0 victory of the week and climb into the top half of the Premier League table.

First-half goals from Raul Jimenez, Willian and Tosin Adarabioyo made this a genuine cruise for Marco Silva's men, who have put their early season woes in front of goal behind them to score 16 times in just four matches since the international break.

Harry Wilson's stunner after the interval was the pick of the bunch, with Carlos Vinicius's late tap-in completing a chastening afternoon for West Ham, who suffered their heaviest defeat under Moyes.

After a superb result in winning at Tottenham in midweek, this was a worrying follow-up for the Hammers boss, whose side are looking leggy just as the fixture list goes into overdrive. Missing Edson Alvarez to illness, and Emerson likewise until he was sent on at the break, there were further troubling indicators of the Irons's lack of depth.

Silva, unsurprisingly, had seen no reason to deviate from the XI that started the midweek annihilation of Nottingham Forest and Jimenez picked up where had left off there, opening the scoring with a towering header from Joao Palhinha's cross, the Mexican showing signs at last of his pre-injury form with four goals in his last five matches.

Until the opener, this had been a relatively even affair but it swung markedly in Fulham's favour thereafter. The visitors looked short on ideas and having just layered one aimless pass in behind to no one, Nayef Aguerd tried to force the issue, fizzing in towards Mohammed Kudus, who had no chance to control under pressure. The white shirts swarmed forward, and while Lukasz Fabianski saved from Alex Iwobi, Andreas Pereira kept the ball alive and Willian steered cooly home at the far post.

There was no let up as Tom Cairney whipped across the face of goal, before Iwobi's volley was deflected just wide off Aaron Cresswell, with Fabianski committed in the opposite direction. From the resulting corner, though, the lead was extended, Adarabioyo rising miles above Kurt Zouma to power a header that skim off Vladimir Coufal on its way into the roof of the net.

A half-time double-change shift to a back-three did little to enliven the Hammers and instead Wilson, himself on at the break for the injured Willian, should have made it four, spinning beyond Zouma with a glorious touch but then side-footing too close to Fabianski.

No matter, for the Welshman soon made amends with Fulham's showstopper, a wonderful left-footed strike that began outside the far post and bent crisply into the top corner.

Soon after, Moyes made clear attempt to cut his losses, withdrawing key men in Kudus, Zouma and Lucas Paqueta with a view to Thursday's crucial Europa League meeting with Freiburg, which will decide who finishes top of the group.

The damage here, though, was not done, Wilson galloping clear with almost comical ease having arched his run perfectly. Perhaps recalling his earlier effort when through one-on-one, the midfielder squared unselfishly to leave Vinicius the simplest of finishes.

Fulham on the goal rush again as they rout West Ham
Fulham hit five goals for the second time in a week as they thrashed West Ham at Craven Cottage to move into the top half of the Premier League.

The floodgates have certainly opened for the Whites in recent weeks, with David Moyes' men the latest side to be put to the sword as five different scorers struck in a fine 5-0 home win - just four days after Fulham beat Nottingham Forest by the same scoreline.

Jimenez's upturn in form has dovetailed nicely with Fulham's as a whole - in their previous three outings heading into this London derby they had scored three to beat Wolves, three in a losing effort at Liverpool and five to down Forest in midweek.

Raúl Jiménez kicks off five-star Fulham's goal rush against West Ham
Something magical must have happened in this part of south-west London during last month's international break. At that point – in what must feel like a different era for Fulham fans – Marco Silva's side had scored just 10 goals in their opening 12 Premier League fixtures and were trying their hardest not to look worriedly down.

Four games later they have turned the division's goalscoring dud into a lethal marksman, bloodied the noses of some teams with lofty aspirations, and found the net a scarcely conceivable 16 times.

After what Silva had described as one of the toughest pre-seasons of his career, Fulham have belatedly sprung to life in spectacular fashion.

If the 5-0 on Wednesday carried the caveat that it came against lowly Nottingham Forest, this same remarkable scoreline four days later warranted no asterisk. It was, Silva said, "a much more complete performance" than that previous mauling.

So much so that the staircases in the away end swelled after only an hour, filled with West Ham supporters making an early escape back across London, the joy from their 2-1 victory against Tottenham three days earlier painfully short-lived.

David Moyes – completing his post‑game media duties with the kind of ruthless haste lacking from his players – suggested his team's exertions in that win had taken their toll. "We used up too much energy in midweek," he said. "We weren't able to get ourselves back. Another Thursday fixture, Fulham had a Wednesday fixture. No excuse for the result but it played a part in it. It is disappointing, but we've had two difficult away games this week – three points from the two games is not a bad return."

Although accustomed to ceding possession under Moyes, an all-too-brief bright West Ham start had faded rapidly to gloom as they were quickly outplayed in all areas.

Fulham's opener continued the unlikely resurgence of Raúl Jiménez, who has now consigned to history a run of 33 goalless Premier League games by scoring four in his past five matches. This one came courtesy of a powerful header to finish a lethal João Palhinha whipped cross.

The hosts had two more before half‑time. Palhinha was again the provider for Fulham's second, fizzing the ball across the six-yard box where Willian calmly curled it into the bottom corner. Tosin Adarabioyo then added a thunderous headed third from Andreas Pereira's corner.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, the substitute Harry Wilson extinguished any West Ham comeback hopes when he curled the ball expertly into the top corner from range with a lethal mixture of precision and power that he will find hard to replicate.

With daylight fading, the visitors saved their worst until last. Undone by nothing more than a straight long ball, the West Ham defence were entirely absent as Wilson bore down on Fabianski's goal and knocked the ball to his fellow substitute Carlos Vinícius in support, who tapped into an empty net.

"A brilliant performance from us," was Silva's verdict. "A great win at a very good level. No doubt we were the best team on the pitch, not just because we won 5-0 but the way we performed. The way we were solid as a team, to express ourselves, to create chances to score goals, the way we did it was an almost perfect afternoon for us.

"We didn't give almost nothing for them. We controlled it well. It's not easy to control a team like West Ham, with the quality they have."

Asked what had prompted Fulham's remarkable recent turnaround, he said: "Confidence builds confidence, the best example is Raúl. But we are not doing anything really different. The trust in our players was always there. The process is not something new or from the last four games – it's from the day I joined this football club. We are always trying to improve things and we did it really well the last two games. We are growing as a team."

The win puts Fulham in the top half of the table for the first time this season, just one spot behind West Ham.

The visitors had reaped all the benefits of Moyes's cautious approach in the win at Spurs, defending stoutly and capitalising on their rare chances. But despite a run of six games without defeat before this, results have not been enough to prevent criticism of the drab style. This defeat will only add to the growing voices of dissent.

When Saïd Benrahma almost cleared the Putney End stand late on with a wild blaze from range the visitors' humiliation was complete on a day to forget.

Classy Fulham put five past West Ham United at Craven Cottage
Fulham made it back-to-back victories in the Premier League courtesy of a 5-0 success over West Ham United at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

The Cottagers entered the contest off the back of a 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, and they were again full of goals in the capital, proving to be far too strong for their opponents in the London derby.

The result has seen Marco Silva's side move into 10th position in the table, boasting 21 points from their opening 16 matches, while West Ham remain ninth on 24 points, with David Moyes's side suffering their sixth league defeat of the campaign.

West Ham were excellent against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, running out 2-1 winners to make it five victories from their last six games in all competitions, but they were brought crashing back down to earth at Craven Cottage.

As far as first 45 minutes go, it could not have been much worse for West Ham, who trailed by three goals at the interval, with Fulham proving to be better in all areas of the field.

West Ham actually had the game's first attempt, with James Ward-Prowse's free kick being kept out by Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The home side managed to make the breakthrough in the 22nd minute, with Raul Jimenez heading a delivery from Joao Palhinha into the back of the net to spark jubilant scenes inside the stadium.

Fulham then doubled their advantage in the 31st minute, with Willian's first-time finish finding the bottom corner after Andreas Pereira had delivered a low cross into the box.

West Ham were all over the place, it became three for the hosts in the 40th minute, with Tosin Adarabioyo's towering header from a Pereira cross finding the back of the net.

Hammers head coach Moyes would have been demanding a response from his side, but instead, Fulham secured all the points on the hour, with Harry Wilson's wonderful curling effort picking out the top corner, leaving West Ham's players absolutely stunned at Craven Cottage.

Jarrod Bowen was doing his best to carry a threat for the visitors, but the Englishman continued to be crowded out by Fulham defenders every time that he managed to break into the box.

The home side made it 5-0 in the 89th minute of the match through Carlos Vinicius, with the striker registering from inside the box after being found by Wilson.

West Ham's attention will now switch to the Europa League, welcoming Freiburg in the competition on Thursday, with the Hammers looking to secure an automatic spot in the next stage of the tournament.

Fulham, meanwhile, will be aiming to make it three straight league wins when they head to St James' Park to tackle Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.

Fulham 5-0 West Ham: Cottagers make it 16 goals in four games with emphatic London derby win

Super Iwobi leads Fulham to another five-star win over West Ham
The Super Eagles star was superb last time out for Fulham, and he put up another solid performance against West Ham

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi registered an assist for Fulham in thier 5-0 spanking of West Ham at Craven Cottage, Soccernet.ng.

Iwobi had a career-best performance last time out for Fulham, as he scored a brace in their 5-0 spanking of Nottingham Forest in midweek. It was his first-ever Premier League brace.

Iwobi made the lineup once again when Fulham welcomed West Ham to Craven Cottage. The game was supposed to be a tough one, but Fulham were just a notch higher in front of their fans.

Raul Jiminez opened the scoring for the Cottagers in the 22nd minute, converting a cross from Joao Palhinha with a fine header.

Nine minutes later, Willian linked nicely with Iwobi to produce the second goa. The Nigerian midfielder sent a precise pass to the Brazilian who was lurking in the box. Then, he placed a precise finish past Fabianski to give the Cottagers a cushion.

Then in the 41st minute, Fulham got their third via Nigeria-eligible defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who scored a header after connecting to a corner-kick.

Two second-half goals from Harry Wilson and Carlos Vinicius sealed the 5-0 win for Fulham.

Iwobi had a great game, and he was taken off in the 79th minute. The former Everton man 51 touches, two key passes, five goal attempts, and two tackles. Meanwhile, Calvin Bassey played all 90 minutes of action for Fulham.

Fulham 5, West Ham 0. And It Was Worse Than The Scoreline.
West Ham run on fumes as Fulham spank us all around the Cottage.

As is often the case in the television driven world of football, we are in the throes of a brutal run of fixtures. For all of my anxiety and focus on The Premier League, I looked at today's trip to Craven Cottage as secondary to this coming Thursday night at home to Freiburg. I even pontificated to friends that I would have liked to see the first eleven saved for that Europa League decider. There were two notable changes in fact. One seemed by choice, the other not so much. Emerson was given a rest with Cresswell entering the fray, while Alvarez travelled to Craven Cottage only to go back home after coming down with the illness that seems to be making it's way through Rush Green as if it were a Daycare Center. That metaphor was appropriate since it was men against boys today.

By the way. The lack of accompanying photos is intentional. Couldn't be bothered. Nor could proofreading. I doubt anyone cares.

On the pitch, the opening minutes were pretty standard. Off the pitch, unless the television microphones were planted in the away section, our support started the match really well. Champions In Europe, Lucas Paqueta, and Bubbles were all clearly audible on my television. As were the "whoa's" when Ward-Prowse went for goal with a free kick from 25 yards in the 7th minute that Leno had to dive to his right to punch away. A few minutes later Fornals and Paqueta played a nice little give and go on the left, but when Fornals put the ball into the center of the eighteen yard box there was nobody there to meet it. Moments later it was West Ham again when Kudus muscled Willian off the ball to launch a counter. Paqueta, Kudus and Bowen flew forward, but in the end it was a low shot by Bowen that Leno handled with ease.

West Ham continued to attack down the left, winning two corners in quick succession. The first one required Leno to punch away a nasty in-swinger from underneath his own bar. The second was a little simpler for the German goalkeeper, but West Ham did look lively.

Fulham had their first real threat of the day in the 19th minute when Pereira made a deft pass for Iwobi on the right side of the West Ham box, forcing Zouma to put the ensuing cross out for a corner. Zouma was again the center of attention on the set piece, clearing it from danger.

Fulham have been on a goal scoring rampage of late. It continued in the 21st minute when Palhinha sent a quick ball into the box that split the defense and landed squarely on the head of Jimenez, who guided it past Fabianski.

Fulham 1
West Ham 0

After the goal, the hosts looked even more energized and ready to pile on the pain. In the 30th minute, Aguerd gave the ball away with a sloppy pass. Fulham pounced. Iwobi forced a save from Fabianski who pushed the ball to the left. But Fulham recovered, with Pereira recovering the loose ball and sending the ball back into the box for Willian who calmly puts the ball into the far corner.

Fulham 2
West Ham 0

The Hammers had a chance to get back into the game in the 39th minute when Coufal was able to chase down a loose ball and loft a ball to Bowen right in front of Leno, but the normally lethal man in front couldn't get his shot off with any pace. That miss became even more important a minute later when Fulham basically put the game away before halftime. Iwobi had his shot deflected out for a corner. The delivery flew into the box for Adarabioyo, who rose over Zouma and headed the ball past Fabianski. It may have come off Coufal. Not that it matters.

Halftime
Fulham 3
West Ham 0

The second half started with two changes. Emerson and Mavropanos came on for Fornals and Cresswell, and the formation moved to a back three. I didn't see the point, but what I think is irrelevant. My heart wanted to see it recreate that day at Spurs. My brain said it I wanted the day to just end.

The change in personal and formation didn't make any difference at all as Fulham were in complete control, and West Ham looked to have no energy or answers. Maybe they were caught between basking in the joy of Thursday and the anticipation of this coming Thursday. Regardless, it was an awful watch that got worse in the 60th minute when Harry Wilson put a long range shot past Fabianski.

Fulham 4
West Ham 0

Disclosure time. I decided to spend the final half hour with the match on, but not consistently sitting with my IPad. I made some breakfast, finished off the coffee, loaded the dishwasher (I'm really, really good at that. Very controlling about it, too), and played a bit with the cat. Bowen and Benrahma had chances, and Mubama got to run about a bit. Bowen took a stomp on his foot in the 75th minute, which led me to wonder why on earth he was not one of the five taken off. Mubama was set up by Emerson late, but the youngster couldn't get his feet right and the opportunity was gone.

Fulham rubbed salt in the wound with a late goal from Vinicius to give the hosts their second straight 5-0 victory.

Final Score
Fulham 5
West Ham 0

When Mitrovic was sold and the goals seemed to dry up, there were early season worries about Fulham. Not anymore. As Tony Gale said, West Ham have big games coming up and simply need to put today in the back of their minds. Fulham have been excellent lately, and they were again today. The proverbial bad day at the office. Not much else to say, really.

Fulham wins 5-0 in Premier League for 2nd time in 4 days after thrashing West Ham
LONDON (AP) - Fulham won 5-0 for the second time in four days by thrashing West Ham at Craven Cottage to move into the top half of the Premier League standings on Sunday.

There were five different scorers for Fulham, with Raul Jimenez giving the team the lead in the 22nd minute to take his personal tally to four goals in five games. The Mexico striker had previously not scored a Premier League goal since March 2022 - when he was a Wolves player.

Willian converted a finish in the 31st after a dummy from Alex Iwobi and Fulham was coasting at halftime after Tosin Adarabioyo headed home a corner in the 40th to make it 3-0.

Harry Wilson scored in the 60th and then unselfishly set up Carlos Vinicius for the fifth goal in the 88th as Fulham matched its rout of Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

Jimenez´s upturn in form has dovetailed nicely with Fulham´s as a whole. In the team's previous three outings heading into this London derby, it had scored three goals to beat Wolverhampton, three more in a losing effort at Liverpool and five against Forest.

A rasping free kick from James Ward-Prowse had Bernd Leno diving across his goal to make an early save but that was as good as it got for West Ham, which was coming off winning three of its last four games - the most recent victory at Tottenham on Thursday.

Fulham climbed to 10th place, three points behind West Ham in ninth.

Five-star Fulham hammer West Ham to move into top half

Cottagers produce second successive 5-0 win with emphatic victory over London rivals

Fulham continued their rich vein of goalscoring form after they scored five goals for the second time this week as they comfortably dispatched West Ham United 5-0.

Goals from Raul Jimenez, Willian, Tosin Adarabioyo, Harry Wilson and Carlos Vinicius gave the hosts an impressive victory as they move into the top half of the Premier League table.

How the match unfolded
The home side were unchanged following their comprehensive victory over Nottingham Forest last time out.

West Ham manager David Moyes made two changes to the team that started the 2-1 win at Spurs, with Aaron Cresswell and Pablo Fornals coming in for Emerson Palmieri and Edson Alvarez.

After a cagey start, the first significant action came in the sixth minute when James Ward-Prowse stung the palms of Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno with a free-kick from 35 yards out.

Leno was then called into action again when he saved low to his left to deny a long-range effort from Jarrod Bowen.

West Ham had made the brighter start, but Fulham gradually gained a foothold in the match and they broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute.

Joao Palhinha whipped in a really dangerous cross from the left-hand side and it was met by the head of Jimenez, who scored his third goal in his last two appearances.

Nine minutes later there was even more to smile about for the home fans, as the Cottagers doubled their lead.

After Alex Iwobi's shot was kept out by Hammers 'keeper Lukasz Fabianski, Fulham kept the move alive. The ball eventually reached Willian, who steered the ball home to put the hosts 2-0 up.

Fulham weren't finished yet - and on 41 minutes Adarabioyo rose above Kurt Zouma to head home an Andreas Pereira corner.

With a 3-0 lead at half-time, Fulham had now scored at least three goals in four consecutive top flight matches for the first time since October 1961.

On the hour mark, Fulham got a fourth. Substitute Wilson arguably struck the goal of the match, curling home a brilliant shot beyond the reach of Fabianski and into the top-left corner.

West Ham attempted to get on the scoresheet, with Said Benrahma drawing a few saves from Leno but in the end it was Fulham who had the last word, scoring a fifth in the 88th minute when Vinicius slotted a left-footed shot into an empty net.

Fulham's emphatic victory moves them on to 21 points and 10th in the table, West Ham are a place and three points ahead.

Key facts
Fulham have won three successive home Premier League games in the same season for the first time since April 2011 under Mark Hughes.

This was West Ham's heaviest ever away defeat in a Premier League London derby, and their heaviest away Premier League defeat since a 5-0 loss to Newcastle United in January 2011.

Only Nottingham Forest (13) and Wolves (12) have lost more Premier League away games in 2023 than West Ham (11), with the Hammers losing four of their last six such games (W2).
