Dallot sent off for United, for dissent, what about Nunez for foul on Evans, what he got booked for and then booting ball away, admit Jimenez deserved to get sent off yesterday, but there is no consistency with any of these refs

SP

Then Nunez sarcastically applauded the Lino but that's fine of course.

LC

He got a yellow for dissent and another yellow for dissent within the space of a few seconds- pretty ridiculous. It's 0-0 with about 90 seconds to go- Man United vs Liverpool.. come on

Baszab

so if you call the ref a @@@@ing
and then wait for a bit and then finish your sentence with @@@@
Is that two yellows ?

Completely ludicrous

Has anyone seen the Martinelli incident against Brighton today - miles worse than Raul as well

Maybe 2 bookings at once was harsh but it showed he wasn't standing for it .

Trouble is you can see by the reaction from some on the net why they don't bother as then the ref gets accused of all sorts .

And would he have done it in the 57th minute ?

Or even that had it been at OT v a non big 6 team?

He was wrong with the throw in and gave it to the wrong team, no wonder Dalot was fuming. its the last minutes of a derby.

He stood for the rest, when nunez elbowed evans, then kicked the ball away, then clapped the other official.

Booking Dalot twice in 5 seconds due to his own mistake is a joke.

Jules

Michael Oliver is a really poor ref - no consistency and lots of bad decisions whenever I've see him

What is irritating is that the officials got the original call (throw in) wrong- then a player gets sent off for moaning about it. It's shameful that refs and their often terrible decisions get to hide behind power and rules. Why not come out immediately after the game and apologise for getting the call wrong? It's a closed shop and VAR has made it even worse.

Free Elvis Hammond

Why does every refereeing decision have to be a saga?

Watch the clip. He books Dalot for the initial reaction, then after that Dalot is clearly carrying on (though this is out of shot), and gets a second. It's normal refereeing and Dalot's an idiot for losing his head

Agree Nunez was lucky though, he has to be one of the most brainless players I've ever seen

Honest error I guess but maybe the issue is a lack of communication generally meaning people don't understand why a decision has been made ?

I think the ref was spot on . It doesn't matter the ref got the call wrong , you aren't allowed to react like that . This is an exactly what causes the problems at grass roots. You have to have respect . But we also have to have consistency . Gallagher was asked on his "ask the ref"spot why Nunez wasn't sent off . He said the ref on this occasion decided not to . Which is exactly the problem . One moment red , one moment not . The abuse of refs has to stop because it escalates . See Turkish league for details .

Woolly Mammoth

I propose that the referee before the match enters both dressing rooms and administers a yellow card to every player on both sides.
By doing that it saves an awful lot of time and trouble later on during the match.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

I thought it was amazingly intolerant from Oliver in a derby game at 90 minutes. If they want respect they have to earn it. Oliver would never have done that to Liverpool as they fear the gleaming white gnashers of Jurgen Klopp's wrath!
