So... Tete and probably Wilson needed at half time.
Castagna and either Andreas/BDR off.

Reed is an option too but not sure who comes off. Do we gamble on the idea that Reed would win more balls in midfield and hence greater possession will lead to more chances.. or do we stick with Cairney the greater playmaker?

Change the lineup don't be so stubborn we need to get BDR off and bring on Harry Wilson

Unfortunately, we need 2 for a draw, extra time   Can't see it happening.

Have to agree. I'd be tempted to remove Andreas as well for Reed or something. Would leave Castagne on for the time being.

Agreed. Doesn't attack the six yard box and gamble enough for a CF.

But he's all we've got sadly.. and he's trying hard enough.

Drifting wide relative to what? His starting position when we build from the back? He's supposed to do that so he can run into the path of the ball for headers. He's held the ball up for us several times when we needed it the most, so I'm not faulting his position this time.

I'd love it if we could figure out putting pressure on MacAllister or not though. It's destroying our chance of creating more chances because we're left watching Liverpool build up patiently. It's like Marco's hoping they are their downfall by poor key passes, etc.

Makes me really wonder what they worked on all week.

We need to score two goals, how does replacing Pereira with Reed help?

1. Paying Liverpool way too much respect
2. The occasion is getting to us
3. Things need to change 2nd half otherwise it was fun whilst it lasted
4. We just just look scared and nervous

Yeah, but those black & white flags looked cool...

I'm not really sure any of the suggested substitutions really make us much more threatening which is a bit of an indictment of our lack of depth. Perhaps Wilson for BDR would give us a bit more pace?

If only we had a triangle on the right as good as we do on the left. Then we'd be far better balanced and carry far greater threat.

To be fair Liverpool have just been too good. Their press is ridiculous and end of the day our players just aren't good enough on the ball generally to cope with it. We broke it a few times and looked dangerous. Pretty much the same as the first leg. Can't fault the effort and Leno hasn't had a save to make really but this looks like the Liverpool of a few years ago and the reason they are top of the league. Sneak a goal however and you just never know. Come on lads...give it all this half.

Face facts, Liverpool are the better team and it looks like another match with our impotent attack not scoring or a single goal at the most.

We are giving them way too much time on the ball, they have the quality to tear us apart with their passing and have raw pace right across the front three.

Need an early goal to get back in this.

Milo

Tosin and Palhina did their best after a Castagna **** up to slow down/narrow the angle of the shot. It was then up to Leno to make a fairly routine save.

SG

So disappointing. Liverpool are strolling it and look as though they can score every time they attack. It's got to be a helluva turn around to get back into this. Quite a few of our team are yet to turn up

Game over, will watch the 2nd half 2moro, 2nd best to probably the 2nd best team in the PL and they have not been great! Sad to see we have under performed in the 1st half, think the lads knew the outcome before the kick off as most of us did!

This is it, they look incredible but they may drop their heads if they suddenly concede. It took us fifteen minutes to recover our composure after conceding.

Matt I'm not quite sure what you mean by your question, "drifting wide relative to what?". My issue is that as a CF he has to be in a position to either offer a target (not so much his style) or be poised to run onto chances and he can't do either if he's right out on the left or right touchline. We don't need him knocking the ball into the middle, we have other players charged with that task, he has to be in a position to convert opportunities.

We are not out of this. BDR and AP need to raise their game. Willian and Cairney to do what we know they can do. Need to win the second half 2-0. Go for it Fulham

Wilson does tend to do better off the bench, he doesn't offer much defensively but he has good movement which could help.

Sad to watch and can only get worse though they will settle for what they have got, which is a very easy victory!

Dream on, sorry! I do hope we make a game of it, but in my wildest dreams cannot see it happening, we will know in about 45 minutes if I can stay awake!
