NFR: David Soul dies at a young 80

Hutch from Starsky & Hutch lost a long battle with many health problems and sadly passed away at a premature 80 years old.

David Soul was also a gifted singer and a bit of a crooner but also a genuinely nice person.

He was a true Hollywood star and will be remembered fondly.

I was more starksy than hutch but great on screen duo in the days of non PC tv.

I used to love Starsky and Hutch as a child and re-watched all of the episodes again recently - they still stand up really well surprisingly. And the Gran Torino is still an awesome car!

He and Paul Michael Glaser were great actors and perfect in their roles.

Both have had difficulties in their lives too - David Soul with his alcohol problems and health issues in later life, and Paul Michael Glaser tragically losing his wife to HIV through a blood transfusion she had while giving birth. Very sad.
