In the words of Rosie Gaines it is "closer than close" with Andre.

Quote from: bencher on July 17, 2024, 07:06:48 PMPlayers that we have chased for years worry me. Have any of them actually worked out? I recall us being linked to Derek Boateng for a while, and then when he joined he was poor. Same with Ibrahima Cisse.

Damn I COMPLETELY forgot Boetang played for us ha!

Periera is an example of it working out pretty well in recent times. We were linked with him a few times before Silva even joined us

Been told Fulham's player care assistant Sega Makiza has started following Smith Rose on Instagram. Doesn't follow any other Arsenal players.

The magical instagram follow sign!! Love us fans desperately looking for a crumb of info. Why does Fulham do it us?!

 :slap:

If he starts following Andre as well that's it...I'm all in exited.

Umm, did you not hear that Muniz's barber is following Andre on instagram so that's basically in the bag,

Looking like almost a formality at this point.

Let's get it over the line followed by ESR would be a real statement of intent

itombomb

The other thing people also need to remember about signings and replacing players, is that it is likely that Stansfield and Godo are in the squad next year (with Harris going on loan to a Championship side). So if we lose Willian as well as BDR, any signings would still put us 'up' in terms of numbers, if not necessarily in terms of quality.

If we get ESR, then the attacking depth chart is looking quite strong, much younger and with lots of versatility.

Striker - Muniz, Jiminez & Stansfield (assuming Vinicius isn't welcomed back)
LW - ESR, Iwobi & Godo/Stansfield
RW - Iwobi, Trore & Wilson
CAM - Periera, ESR & Iwobi

My guess is as well as ESR we're definitely looking to get Andre and another 6/8 (and we could let one of Reed or Lukic go if the right offer came in), one starting quality CB, one back up level CB (could be an older player or loan), a back up LB (again an older player or loan) and though it is a low priority, I reckon Marco would like a more proven backup GK if the opportunity arises.

So that is 7 to come through the door in the next 6 weeks.

It was supposed to be a formality in January.  All rumours seem to originate from Brazil and it seems strange that non of the usual big guns aren't all over this.  Only time will tell.

Stansfiekd we know is staying and sure Harris will go on loan to the championship. I think Godo is the interesting one. Excellent at Wigan last season. The big one was in the cup vs Man U where he still looked very good against top level opposition (if you can call Man U that  ::smile:: ).

In all likelihood we will try and get him a championship loan but if he really impresses pre season with our shortage on the left I just wonder whether Marco would keep him rather than buying someone like Brun Larsen as an ESR back up (should we get him). He should only do so however if he feels he is ready at this level to contribute or championship loan for further development.

Don't think it was in Jan mate. Marco made it clear money was tight and that we wouldn't be buying. By all accounts we were only ever going for him if Joao was sold. It does however seem like a formality now at this point but so did CHO for frigging weeks last year. I look forward to the rotund lady bellowing out a beautiful tune (hopefully this week)!

This is a shame if true. He would have been a signing based on a tournament performance which as we know is always very risky but god him and Andre would have been an exciting and potentially very lucrative long term prospect. Absolutely brilliant carrying the ball under pressure as is Andre so could have been a very effective duo at beating any press.

At no point was it ever supposed to be a formality in January. You're making things up.

Wrote a piece on Andre's signing. I for one am just glad that the whole thing is coming to an end as this has dragged on since January.

Looks a really exciting signing to be honest but there's a lot of additional work to be done to compliment his obvious ability

I think Godo should get pre season to prove himself but unless he puts up incredible numbers to force his way in, a loan move is better for him.

I think he could offer something to the squad now, but as a young tricky winger he'd probably only be used sparingly now off the bench when we're chasing a game. If ESR & Iwobi would be the 2 starters then we have Adams's pace, Wilson's crossing ability & Stansfield's goal threat on the bench already Godo's chances will be very limited.

Maybe loan with a recall option in Jan as we don't know how Adams's fitness will hold up

Who was the last Fulham player to have a moustache? Andre has a very 80s look to him.

Dunno but our owner needs to show him how to grow a proper one  :Khan_you_fix_it:  ::smile::

I think he'll get exactly that. We're looking at spending a lot of money on a few players and I assume the funds will run dry eventually so we'll need to turn to Stansfield and Godo as genuine squad players throughout the season.

Not sure if you saw our tweet but Godo hasn't got a number on his training kit which indicates he's considered part of the 1st team squad. All other 1st teamers don't have numbers yet whereas youth players (like Josh King for example) do

On the fulhamfc (official) site, under 'Teams', the players do have their numbers and it includes Stansfield but not Godo, at the moment.
Mind you, it also includes Willian at present - maybe a good sign?
