Ream and Bassey was not a very good combo last year, which might be where that is coming from. Bassey looked miles better on the left.

West ham likely to press ahead with Summerville bid having missed out on Soule from juventus who went to Roma.

Think we might find it tough to bring him in if were even really interested.

We are in talks with a Keeper as well as a RCB - both very left of field.

Happy with Cuenca, will fit in well. Believe he is left footed but has played RB and RCB in his youth. Promising player who, if hits the ground running, will make us very solid.

He played a few games at left back last season as well. So I think with Sess coming in we're well covered there now- the versatility of this team is pretty impressive.

I know we don't sign squad fillers, but a LCB/LB for £6m certainly sounds like one.

Marcos comments seemed to say that any "backups" arent signed as backups explicity. he wants players only that he conceivably believes have what it takes to fight to be a starter if called upon.

Given hes been a starter for villareal he must have some pedigree, and young for a CB too. Could just be another defensive bargain. Heres hoping!

Didn't have a brilliant season last year. Villareal let in a lot of goals. Only ones with a worse defensive record ended up last and second last.

Well he was usually a starter, but he started 21/38 league games, so he wasn't  a regular starter either.

Also just clocked he's apparently signing a 5 year deal so at circa £6m and assuming he's not gonna be on huge wages, he's essentially going to cost about £2.5m a year from a FFP perspective which makes almost no impact to the budget whatsoever, and may even net off a profit if we lose Ream's wages which I'm guessing will be similar if not higher

I wonder what happened for them to all start falling into place now and why none were in earlier. None of these players were at the euros.

Andre and a RCB in the next week and we are absolutely cooking. 3rd GK, 8 and another striker/winger can wait for deadline day as far as I'm concerned

A little concerned too. Other than Lukic this seems to be the most out of character transfer since pre pandemic. With Lukic there was a connection to Mitro and Serbia that somewhat explained the pick up.

Since the pandemic every signing has had some Premier League exposure or you could see a connection from Marco's Portugal ties.

Thankfully the fee seems minor, but my expectations here are low. Hopefully this is a 4th CB who allows the club to spend more on another RCB option.
